    Thanks for sharing, as this is a new item and will be a space & weight saver for an occasional street performance for we professionals. You walked through all the steps and explained just about every feature. I have used the older VOX mini along with a Pignose 30 (for keyboards). The Pignose is used for my backup tracks which I record at home for my performances.It captures the low frequencies of the backup tracks and the drums on the tracks sound real. Will buy the new VOX Mini5 so I don't have to bring my pedal board along. I play guitar, uke and reso guitar. Great demo, thanks, I'm sold. Thanks, Sharon R.

    I bought one, and I love it!
    I do more folk/blues/Marley/John Denver/James Taylor/Clapton kind of stuff on a Takamine EF340SCGN. This amp is tiny - loud - flexible (you can blast at 5W, or last for hours and hours at 1.5W). The sound quality is very good - and it is simply a multi-purpose, portable, battery powered, 99 drum pattern music making and amplifying machine, that I carry in a little back pack (like school kids wear).
    So guitar (in case) in one hand, backpack with amp/cables/etc on shoulders, and mic stand in other hand - you can walk blocks and blocks, to wherever your gig is, and play for hours and hours on 6 AA batteries or AC power !
    At $159 - it is just stupid logical if you want portability, features, and good sound.
    And - the speaker is 6.5 inches - not 5 inches as the video states.

      If you're doing it with predominantly electric guitar this am will work great with vocals and guitar. The mic input sounds quite good, (obviously you just need a decent mic, and make sure it's a dynamic mic since this has no phantom power). If you are usually using an acoustic guitar I'd recommend looking at the soundbox mini from Vox instead. They have a few bass, keyboard, and acoustic guitar pre-amp settings, though only 4 electric sounds. It doesn't handle the low frequencies quite as well as this one due to its smaller speakers, but an employee of mine uses one for busking very regularly. It sounds quite good and he's super happy with it. No drum machine on that one though. So if that's a big concern, the line setting on this amp will still sound alright with most acoustic guitar pick-ups.

      I love Country music. so we are a rare species i guess.here in youtube. you are the fisrt i see that he likes country and John Denver. thats awsome becasue most youtube reviews are Rock or Metal.
      i d like to ask you what are the best settings on the amp you know for Country music.i mean where do you position the nubs settings. hope you do answer . i m a beginner but i surprisingly improve and learn .I m not much using youtube reviews for it now.
      . i m so glad now because i thought i m the biggest untitalent for learn guitar. i love Country and very much the music of the end 50s like Jim Reeves and Patsy Cline .and al the country queens of this time and later to 70s and 80s. its the soft sound and a bit delay i guess this is what it is needed in Country music.

    Right through the history of the electric guitar,Amp makers spent a lot of money on research and development and competed with each other..each one declaring they made the cleanest.."Linear" amplifiers.
    Vox and Selmer were the main players in the rock and roll boom.The Selmer Thunderbird,and Zodiac,were absoloutely sweet and stunning,with a pushbutton "SelectorTone " panel,Hammond Spring Reverb,and all valve-driven,with tremelo,built in.Also a real nice piece of furniture to have in your home![Same with the Vox AC30]
    Clean,clean,sound![.." less than 0..1% THD..."...or whatever,was the advertising blurb!]..[ "THD" means "Total Harmonic Distortion"....for the uninitiated...and basically means the input signal is very very close to the output signal waveforms..with virtually no distortion of that waveform due to unwanted harmonics,or undesirable overtones..]
    If I switched my beloved Selmer Thunderbird on,in 1963,and it made a complete mush of a noise like these amps do today,I would have seriously thought my Speaker cones were shredded...which,of course,would have been totally impossible,when they were played on stage at only 20% of gain..even in large dance halls!...that's because we played proper music,where the audience could hear every note as clear as a bell....a Lead Guitarist like myself,would have a red face if he dropped a bum note...cos we didn't have,and wouldn't have WANTED to have ...this dreaded distortion....what's thi big obsession with folks today?..if you take notice this guy plays two or three chords ONLY!!....on the clean channel...then blasts away with the usual trash which is just a mush,and he gets away with a guitar which isn't even in tune!!...and the average audience wouldn't either notice,or care! Distortion is second only to the dreaded Auto-tune,in todays ....er......."music...."....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Having said all that,I will excuse the amazing natural distortion of the Vox'es which Brian May uses...it's a lovely creamy sound..unlike this mush on here!...but Brian is a unique player with a unique sound.
    I have a 197

      I caught the wrong button and posted before finishing the last sentence!..which was meant to read...."I have a 1978 Vox AC30TBR,VOX DA5 MODELLING..original first series model,VOX AC1..from the 1990's original ,no effects,..VOX AC30 AMPLUGS [two],original with no effects,and the newer one with effects built in,and none of them are overdriven....cos the sixties music that I play,loads of instrumentals,everybody can hear every note that I play!!...Now can we please hear a Guitarist like Ry Cooder,or Mark Knopfler,Chet Atkins, Hank Marvin..[my hero!],or somebody who plays real clean,demo these amazing little amps,cos they ARE amazing,I love my mini-voxes..small,portable,light,with a great range of tones...but NOT DISTORTION...PLEASE!!
      Rant over! "

      It really depends on the pickup. Something with a simple magnetic pickup or a passive piezo won’t sound like much. It won’t sound bad necessarily, but will be a little lifeless. If you have a good active system with an under saddle piezo, a mic, or even a magnetic pickup with a good preamp, you can get really nice tones out of here.
      I use them for acoustic a fair bit with a Fishman Isys+ pickup system.

    Can effects pedals be used with this amp since it is a modelling amp? Or does it require a specific clean channel to sound decent?

    • @jamesturner162
      @jamesturner162 9 лет назад +1

      Generally modelling amps don't work great with pedals, though not all pedals will be a problem, it really depends on the effect you are using. This amp however does have a line setting which bypasses the modelling amp section which will give you much better tone with distortion and overdrive pedals. But really it depends on what kind of rig you want to be running.

    will this project better than my roland ac33? which sounds great but doesn't project

    • @LeducsOwnMusicShop
      @LeducsOwnMusicShop  5 лет назад

      Kirby Nils I would say that this wouldn’t be as loud or offer as much projection as the AC-33. If it’s primarily acoustic guitar that you are using it for, I would suggest looking at the Fishman Loudbox Mini. It will be comparable size to the ac33, but they live up to their name and have a lot of volume and projection. Also incredible tone.
      You can check them out here: www.turnerguitar.com/shop/c/p/Fishman-Loudbox-Mini-Charge---Acoustic-Guitar-Amp---Bluetooth-Rechargeable-Battery-x42022899.htm
      I’m sold out of the regular version, but I have the bluetooth and the rechargeable version in stock, the rechargeable one is the one I linked to.

    Is the rhythm straight or does it mimic a song with different rhythms within the pattern ???

    • @LeducsOwnMusicShop
      @LeducsOwnMusicShop  4 года назад

      Basically it just plays a looped drum track over and over at whatever speed and volume you prefer. You get to choose from 9 different options on each genre, but the patterns don’t change once you have it selected and playing. Hopefully that answers your questions.
      If you are looking for that sort of capability, you may want to look at something like the Digitech Trio+

    Hey man, do you think that the amp can be runed with Rechargeable batteries? I ask you this because I read that not.
    By the way this is a good and detailed review, don't listen to all these people. I always prefer a review with the audio o camera phone instead of one which is recorded through a microphone and after that mixed it, it gives you a true impression of how that thing sound, which is what everyone wants.
    Kind Regards

    • @LeducsOwnMusicShop
      @LeducsOwnMusicShop  5 лет назад +1

      Luciano Ponzano thanks for that.
      As for damaging it, there should be no issues using rechargeable batteries as long as they are AA batteries, and they aren’t old and broken themselves.
      You wouldn’t be able to recharge them using the amp plug into the wall, but if you have your battery charging device, you should have no issues using those over disposable batteries.

      We sell these and rent these out all the time for bass players. It’s not an amazing bass amp, but if it’s just at home practicing then it’s plenty loud and gives you a lot more features than a basic bass amp.
      If you want a dedicated bass amp I would suggest another route. But if you want an amp that will work for the bass as well as electric guitar, acoustic instruments, has battery capabilities etc, then this will be the perfect option.

      Devopam Bora definitely! Each one has its own volume knob and input, and the mic channel also gets its effect level knob for the channel 2 effects.
      If you don't need the drum machine I'd also look at the mini3 and the soundbox mini from Vox. Both will have those same inputs just some other unique features and no drum machine. For the soundbox mini I actually have just one left on clearance as they discontinued them for their new adioair models so it's about half off it's original price. Let me know if you'd be interested in something like that or the mini3 or the mini5-Rhythm
