As a life long Beatles fan, I am so happy to see these cartoons. My only problem is this: Appearantly the animators don't know who the lead singers are from song to song. For instance, "Day Tripper", although primarily written by John, has Paul in the lead. But they focus in on John as the lead.
I love when John just rips off Paul's shirt for the alien chick, and Paul still has that look on his face like he's been struck by cupid's arrow, haha.
That was awsome! The Beatles sure know how to solve a problem with the help of the music they play and the songs they sing. It even seemed to cheer them up.
Yeah, a number of times they mistook a song sung by Paul or George as being sung by John -- and the opposite in the case of "Mr. Moonlight", showing Paul singing what John actually sang! One episode with a pretty good story, "I'm Looking Through You", was so marred by the "John for Paul" goof, that I decided to post a "corrected" edit!
In 1972, Lennon commented, "I still get a blast out of watching the Beatles cartoons on TV." In 1999, Harrison said, "I always kind of liked [the cartoons]. They were so bad or silly that they were good, if you know what I mean. And I think the passage of time might make them more fun now." (wikipedia)
Awsome! That cartoon reminds me of the HHPAY episode "Spaced Out". The Beatles sure know how to escape dangerous situations like the one they were just in. Thanks again so very, very, very, very, very, very much for posting this! I absolutely, definately, positively enjoyed it, and that's the truth!
ofcouse, I love this music and was born some forty to fifty years to late, while my grandparents never cared for the Beatles and were alive at the perfect time
Funny thing about that...the song was principally written by John, but he only sings "support" vocal -- though as you say, the cartoon depicts him as THE singer...
"I always kind of liked them. They were so bad or silly they were good, if you know what I mean." -George Harrison (June 1999 interview with Timothy White) "You know, I still get a blast out of watching the beatles cartoons on TV." -John Lennon (as told to writer, Roy Carr)
@LaytonJG The voice actor who does John sounds like the same actor who did Inspector Fenwick in "Dudley Do-Right of the Mounties" in the "Rocky & Bullwinkle Show."
I'm gonna say no, they have not, explaining to others who may read this that I'm not counting bootlegs. The cartoons are in the possession of Apple, and I don't think Paul & Ringo have much interest in them. Examine early episodes like "I'll Cry Instead", "Everybody's Trying to Be My Baby" or "I'll Be Back" and you'll see why. (At any rate "by season" might not be practical: there are 26 half-hours from 1965, but only 13 more for the next two years. One complete set would be more likely.)
@morticiamortician In Many Years From Now, McCartney said that "Day Tripper" was about drugs, and "a tongue-in-cheek song about someone who was ... committed only in part to the idea." Also mentions that the line shes a big teaser was originally shes a prick teaser, so its about a tease and drugs.
Y'know, not to say that what's been said in this thread of conversation is false, but I think it's gotten rather out of hand... The original question about who'd want to get rid of the Beatles was based on the girl in the cartoon who wants to get rid of them to please her dad. The only implication about that, though, is that her dad (and by extension the girl) is a "square" who doesn't like rock 'n roll and such; and it was only being depicted in a humorous light... So lighten up, folks!
The guy who did John's voice did the voice for so many of the characters in the classic Christmas cartoons.
The guy who voiced Paul and Ringo also did the voice of Captain Fred in Yellow Submarine.
Paul Frees
Paul has an automatic shirt dispenser.
John's autograph on Paul's shirt? I could never wash that XD

i love when
ringo plays the drums with
everything lol
I love when John just rips off Paul's shirt for the alien chick, and Paul still has that look on his face like he's been struck by cupid's arrow, haha.
They got John's stance perfect: Feet shoulder-width apart, chin up, bounce up and down and up and down.
Love these old cartoons.
lulz I like how Ringo said "It's a flying saucer!!!"
He's the funniest... XD
i just love the look on Paul's face when he saw the UFO woman. :D
He's so adorable! I love Paul
That was awsome! The Beatles sure know how to solve a problem with the help of the music they play and the songs they sing. It even seemed to cheer them up.
love how ringo gets so much percussion out of a tambourine! he's good at that in these cartoons
Love these! When I have children, they will definitely watch these cartoons
i needed to be silly today!!!....thx lads!!

"You're the most beautiful woman I've ever seen!"
WE WERE ALL DAY TRIPPERS BACK THEN!!!!

"a goofy globby creature with 17 arms"
I know your comment is 13 years old, but you’re honestly full of shit

LOL!!! 2:08 Ringo is sooo cute

Itsn't it odd that as soon as they get in a jam that they start to play music? Real musicians aren't they?
MOMMA!

In case of an emergency, play the appropriate Beatles song that best fits your situation.
I like how ringo goes: *cries* MAMA!!!
this is one of my favorite songs by the Beatles.
Aww, this video is so cute!!!!! :D I love how they all, especially the John Lennon character, look just like the real Beatles XD
ofcouse, I love this music and was born some forty to fifty years to late, while my grandparents never cared for the Beatles and were alive at the perfect time
(what me and my friend yelled when Paul got his shirt ripped off by John) STRIP DOWN!!!!! :D
I loved the expressions on their faces after they changed back.
Funny thing about that...the song was principally written by John, but he only sings "support" vocal -- though as you say, the cartoon depicts him as THE singer...
The opening theme is the king features fanfare used in the blondie movies.

That was Lance Percival who did Ringo.. and Paul, too. Paul Frees was John and George.
that blue creature was so cool!
"damn...we're abandoned in space for eternity..........guess we better play day tripper."
Thanx for posting the vid.
I Like How The Song Completely Goes With Non-Beatle Voices! XD
i love how ringo describes a big goopy globby creature with 17 arms and long fuzzy claws in the beginning!!!totally funny!!!
Back in their "Yeah yeah yeah" days, before the Sergeant Pepper album, when they were still singing about teen-age love.
Of course Ringo's the first to see those fuzzy things. AND NO ONE BELIEVED HIM!
i want your autograph -john pulls part of puals shirt off yes very clever john
So ... they're stranded on the planet forever, and what do they do? Sing, of course.
I love these cartoons.
we're distraught and trapped on an alien planet... COMMENCE THE MUSICAL MONTAGE.
"Daddy" will be so pleased.
love these toons :D good music and funny situations :D
the lesson here? Day trippers: never take a one way ticket!
lol i love john "ide give it exactly what it came for"...."what" "my autograph ovecourse!" i love them!!! :3
@LaytonJG The voice actor who does John sounds like the same actor who did Inspector Fenwick in "Dudley Do-Right of the Mounties" in the "Rocky & Bullwinkle Show."
It was weird how the aliens could teleport and shapeshift, but it was even weirder how the Beatles started doing it too. It must be contagious.
what do you do during a drastic situation?
play a beatles song that is very fitting for the occasion!
When you're sad just bust out a guitar and start playing day tripper haha
paul is so cute even in cartoons xD
hehe, Paul has a goofy smile!
yep all this certainly looks like one damn good day "trip" to me LOL
I'm gonna say no, they have not, explaining to others who may read this that I'm not counting bootlegs.

at 1:01 how is it that pauls shirt grows back but hi smile is hilarius >w
Anyone else notice that when John was signing Paul's shirt, he signed it with his left hand?
MAMA !
lol, love ringoo !
and his fancy accent ! ! ! :D
"I'd walk right up to it an give it what it came for!"
"What's that?"
"My autograph, of course!"
I just thought that was really funny! XD
Apple owns the show now. Whether it gets OFFICIALLY release is up to them.
It would be a great move on their part since the last Beatles song we'll ever get has been released.
when get stuck on planets i also start playing songs with my band! XD
Actually, PAUL played bass. George was "lead guitarist" (amd I don't mean heavy metal).
paul really looked like his cartoon... SO DID RINGO LOL
Love Lance Percival's performance as Ringo here
I would TOTALLY Want John autograph on PAULS Shirt : D
these cartoons are adorable!! :D
aww ringo cried for his mommy
2:00 That's some pretty skilled jumping.
when a glooby globby creature leaves you to die on a planet millions of miles away from earth, nothing lifts your spirits like singing a song.
@morticiamortician In Many Years From Now, McCartney said that "Day Tripper" was about drugs, and "a tongue-in-cheek song about someone who was ... committed only in part to the idea." Also mentions that the line shes a big teaser was originally shes a prick teaser, so its about a tease and drugs.
...even intergalactic travel inspires a song! XD
"Day Tripper" was the only Beatles song I know of that is actually about Drugs. Instead of a UFO theme they should've done a Drug-esque theme.
I love John!
Love it how for no reason they burst into song :)
important lesson to be learned here
@NateXRau
She said, "DAD will be so pleased!" -- he being a typical rock-n-roll-hating parent of the 60's!
Ringo is so cute!!!
That awkward moment when Paul strums a bass guitar.

I fucking love their reaction to when she leaves them at 2:01
Although English people were insulted by this cartoon, I have to admit that I do find it funny, especially Ringo :)
Ah, this is great!
well that wouldn't be the first time john fell in love with a monster
HAHA! the lady asked John for his autograph and he tears off Paul's shirt! that's one weak shirt!
john rips off pauls shirt so funny!!! XD XD
Thanks for the compliment
no, i mean John's face just before the Ringo´s face appears xD
i was in a spaceship for a month last night !
They were across the universe:^D
It makes more funny the cartoon but all we know ringo is the best! lmL
those "one way trip" tickets are lsd blotter paper : P
Poor Ringo :(
I lol when the lady asked for John's autograph and he ripped off Pauls shirt :)
