  • In this video I am finally lowering my 2006 Subaru Outback! We installed BC Racing Extreme Low coilovers along with ESR CS1 Wheels. Fitment was great although needing a little bit of modification to the fenders. Other mods: Megan Racing rear adjustable camber arms, Whiteline rear adjustable control arms front and rear. Whiteline front strut tower brace. Plenty more upgrades coming soon. Hope you enjoy the video and stay tuned for more content with this car coming very soon!

    I got a 05 outback xt with lower struts and custom 3in stainless straight pipe but every time I hit bumps my sway bar hits on the exhaust any ideas???

    • @K03sport
      @K03sport 25 дней назад

      wrap some tape (electrical) around the sway bar in the area that makes contact with the exhaust. clean the sway bar before wrapping the tape along a 3-4" span. Do about 2 layers. It won't get rid of the thud, but should reduce any metal banging sounds. The alternative is to pound a relief into the exhaust pipe where contact is being made. The little bit of deformed area isn't going to impact performance.

      @@patrickmangan9062 here are the parts that I am running: white line rear lower control arm kit: KTA124, Megan racing rear adjustable camber arm: mrs-su-5011. That should be all you need besides coils. Also I recommend getting the white line rear trailing arm bushing: W63398. If it’s original then you’ll for sure want to swap it out or it may tear on you. Also, the outback has front and rear sub frame spacers (since it’s a lifted legacy) you can either keep them in or removed them - if you remove you need to replace the oem subframe bolts with Legacy sub frame bolts because they are shorter. I left them in and it’s been just fine. Mainly if you want to get everything in line and put less stress on axles. I plan on doing that soon just didn’t have them at the time of install.

      Hey! Well you have a few options. For similar fitment to mine, or lower, I recommend the BC Racing Extreme Lows. If you arent looking to dump the car on the ground, regular BR types or similar from other brands would work perfectly. For a lowered/oem fit and ride quality, you can also go with oem Legacy/legacy GT suspension and remove the sub frame spacers that are installed on the outback.

    • @andreungaro2533
      @andreungaro2533  2 года назад

      @@gavanphotography7814 spring/shock are one assembly on these cars. The rear has a lot of room. More clearance than the front that’s for sure. I’ve almost maxed them out and it was tucking the rear I raised it up a bit for more flush fitment but at max height you’ll have no clearance issues. Only thing to watch for is wheel width. This set up in the video is 18x8.5 and had no trouble. I am currently running 18x9.5 +38 and that requires a bit of cutting, rolling and pulling of the fenders. But yes, I did replace rear control arms as well as the trailing arm bushings with the Whiteline kit.

      @@andreungaro2533 did you experience any issue with the toe? Oh I watched most of them just now, now I’m on your first impression. I was reading that a few people had to change everything from outback to legacy parts.

    • @andreungaro2533
      @andreungaro2533  3 года назад

      @@reconjdm So you dont really need to change anything to legacy. Only real thing you can do is remove the front and rear subframe spacers that the outback has. That pretty much makes the geometry more of a legacy instead. Not necessary to lower it but its recommended to avoid excessive wear and tear. Whenever you touch suspension you should always do an alignment because it will most likely be out of spec and could cause a pull. But when you replace those arms it makes it very easy to do. But I did not have to replace anything else besides that. The control arms are technically for a legacy maybe thats what they mean? I listed part numbers i belive in one of these other comments if you would like to see exact parts i am using.
