We do it very different in the UK. We don't cross lacie so they are easier to to cut open by medics should they need too, we tie the lace in a simple double bow then tuck the bow in behind the lace so no friction on foot. We also use twisters but we put them lower so they cover the boot a bit to prevent dirt getting in the top of the boot, it also stops the trousers riding up the leg. Not saying our way is better but that the thinking behind it. Good video bro
We marines have what we call a “bridge”. Instead of lacing ur boots upwards out of the hole and towards you.. your laces go down towards the boots. This causes the lace not to be pressed against your boots no matter how tight you tie your boots. No matter how the boot is tied the “bridge” is easy to cut for corpsmans and fellow troops incase of injury. & in garrison marines have to have their blousing between the first and second brackets of the boots but in the field marines tend to blouse their boots to their ankles to prevent mud and water from getting in.
Trouser scrunchies, FTW! Experienced with boondockers years ago but not with modern crayon flavored boots. I bought some Danner MEBs and was looking for the best way to tie 'em up. These new types of boots are night and day better than old school boondockers or even jungle boots. Loving these Danner MEBs and now I know how to tie my boots. Thanks, Marine. I owe you one.

Brad Locke depends on how tight you tie them, his method has been used since day one and hasn't failed me, but I do know in some instances where you tie them fast and not get them tight and snug in the boot and become loose
as for having two overhand knots digging in your ankle ??? fk that shit has this man ever yompped and distance not with his boots like that Jeslus where did he get this idea of combat doss ord? same place as the USMC T shirt I guess surplus store!!
My laces when trying this method don't come as close together as yours in the video does. My boots have a tongue. Any other method for tieing your boots?
When I was in the Army Basic Training in 1969 we could not use garters and had to fold our fatigue pants into our boots. It was a real pain. Get an old timer to show you how it was done back in the day 60 years ago. It was after spats.
I bought a pair of those Belleville boots 390 black leather and when I lace them up and wore them kinda feels like the heel it’s lose idk did you got the same issue I already exchange it too for a down size
Es muy curioso pero ese método de amarrado no estoy segura que no quede muy flojas las botas en el momento de correr ? Le agradezco la respuesta saludo desde Colombia en el cauca besos y abrazos
What is the purpose of blousing your pants? I remember my brother's pants appeared to look puffed out and yours are not anything like his. Of course, this was the Vietnam era and I'm sure the pants are made a bit different now. He also wore the black boots that you had to spit-shine.
Like everything about your presentation style, outstanding. Couple of questions though: 1. Shouldn't the fabric of your trousers go over the entrance to the boot so nothing gets down inside them and things dont get suck in that exposed part of your sock? 2. If you do a long distance run in the boots, will the laces work their way out / need to be adjusted at some point?
Dirt Diver Thank you i appreciate that ! And to answer your 1st question , yess you can , you can do either or what you don't want is snakes or animals going up your trousers so the boot bands mitigate that.2nd question answer, no Laces should NOT slip out if you tuck them in properly you should have no issue, all throughout boot camp , MCT and the fleet, I've never ran across that issue , make sure you tie them as shown and you will be golden.
haskell warrior thank you for the comment, yes 1 band is enough. Just varies on your leg size , just make sure it's not to loose where a snake can crawl up there.
haskell warrior they never come undone I've literally hiked mountains and Ran for countless miles and the boot bands stay put. Just make sure the electrical tape is wrapped around tightly

I recommend the jungle boots brotha. red wing have good shoes that last a long time but the insoles are tuff. if you own red wing I would take out the insoles and purchase some Dr. schools gel insoles.
I usually get the very large rubber band and fold it or a large band just enough elasticity to cuff the pants, sometimes got that band marks on the skin, solution cuff it, in the boot to cover the lace. Another solution which its better, about 10 inch of garter, (or depends on your elasticity) just sew on the edges you got a better boot bands. :)

yes they can, but if they're in a Marine Corps base they have to blouse.

rubber bands is much easier than boot bands...
do you actually use rubber bands? sounds painful
