  • One of the Surespeed units had a brush come apart, so Travis took it apart to replace it in the field!

How Farms Work by Ryan Kuster is a RUclips channel based in rural Potosi, Wisconsin. Our mission is to teach those who didn't grow up on a farm what the farming life is like. These videos show the Kuster family working together raising cattle and crops. We believe everyone who wants to know more about farming should be able to share the farming experience with us and we look to educate the world on many essential agriculture topics.
How Farms Work takes place on ~1,100 acres with around 75-200 cattle at any given time. Four John Deere tractors are currently used on the farm, which are a 4020, 4640, 7600, and 8235R.

I'd love to see a "now vs then" comparing the equipment I remember you all having when you started these videos vs what you have now. You've all come along way in just a few short years. I appreciate you bringing us along on the experience!

I sure like to know more about the sure speed brush meters. How many breakdowns they have caused, how long it took you to install them and what the cost. I got a 31 real planter that I'm about ready to try and do a little more precision upgrading too.

Hi hello from Portugal, i have some questions for you test your soils? And do you use different types of seed depending on the type of soil you have or is it the same for all your fields?

Hi Ryan, check out Edison Motors utube channel, they sell ev conversion kits. Big red would get a new cat 6 cyl engine, 350kw battery bank, ev axels. It saves 50% fuel and that's just using ev brake generation not plug in power from solar. Running 3kwh per mile I believe. Travis would be the man to get certified while installing the kit on big red in BC Canada. 4 week certification. Edison started as log truckers and remote off grid solar solutions in the Bush. Two working prototype trucks. You next truck buy with no working engine and transmission. Doubles as an emergency generator on wheels with fuel to recharge batteries. Startup company kicking ass with repairable work trucks.
