My Taxidermy Collection 🦊🐢🦔🐭🐥🐹🦋

Taxidermy is the art of preserving an animal's body, preparing, stuffing/mounting an animal for display or study. It usually involves arranging an animal's real skin over a fake body to make the animal look alive. Most animals are naturally deceased. This means they have died of roadkill, old age, sickness, or other ways where their deaths are not the result of direct human handiwork or intention. Naturally deceased specimens come from reputable keepers of such animals, like farms, zoos, and aviaries. This includes pet-food producers, who raise animals such as mice, etc to be sold as whole frozen meat to be fed to carnivorous animals like pet snakes etc.
Some farms also experience the unfortunate case of stillborn animals, or animals that were not viable to survive despite extensive medical care. Many choose taxidermy to preserve their beloved pets, but then change their minds & do not end up collecting them when they are finished so they become available to buy. Butterfly and insect farms breed live, healthy specimens in carefully controlled environments where they have lived a full life cycle.
Deceased butterflies are then gathered for specimen collectors etc.
Butterflies lives are short, but they can be preserved for decades in works of art,
What I have written here is only to explain the process for those who are interested, and not to place judgement on anyone that may do or feel differently.
