The video does not show changing filter on GE cafe model which is on the French door. The video needs to be updated to include XWFE filter.
Just received my filter and soon after got an email on How To Install video. Gotta say, I’m pleasantly surprised this video was short, to the point and there wasn’t any added bullshit on trying to sell me anything else…that’s a first! THANK YOU VERY MUCH! 👍🏼😊🙏🏼
I keep getting an error message and I followed all instructions. Please help!
We struggled with this "easy process" for an hour. The damn GE original filter would NOT REINSTALL. For safety WE unplugged the water line, emptied the top shelf, put down paper towels . The filter would NOT RE ENGAGE. FINALLY MY WIFE DECIDED TO TRY WITH THE ARROWS INTENTIONALLY MIS ALIGNED. IT FINALLY REINSTALLED. THANKS GE, FOR A POS UNION MADE PRODUCT. I'll BUY ANOTHER BRAND OF FILTERS FOR NOW, AND DEFINITELY A NEW NON GE FRIDGE IN THE FUTURE.

I have now purchased 6 filters and none are working when installed. The water ceases as does the ice. I even had service for the fridge and he checked the circuit board. I am so incredibly disappointed with GE products and service.
Do I have to wait until the red light is blinking?
Read all instructions, viewed video but the filter will not disengage. A loud vibration noise is another problem or related to the filter. Please schedule service.
I just noticed my filter is a XWFE for a side by side refrigerator. Is it OK to use this filter?
No. Won’t work. The E means it has a microchip and your fridge won’t recognize it.
Xwfe replaced xwf. They are backwards compatible.

How many gallons of water will the XWFE filter before it needs replacement? Or is it a timer after 6 months?
Hi - thanks for checking with us! We're happy to help! The XWFE refrigerator water filter has a 170 gallon filter capacity or six months, whichever comes first. It depends upon the refrigerator logic too. If you have additional questions, please let us know! -NC
Do you need a refrigerator filter if you have an R/O system?
Hi, Paul, we're happy to help! If you have a refrigerator filter and would like to use a Premium Filtration (Reverse Osmosis), it is not necessary to use the refrigerator filter. We recommend that you remove the filter and install the by-pass plug supplied when you purchased your refrigerator. Just let us know if any other questions come up! Best, JP

@@stevearpin6605 Us too. I have been directed by GE's online chat support to call a # to diagnose the system. We shall see. I read yesterday on REDDIT that someone had the same issue and kept doing what they say to do, a few service calls and then finally the replaced the fridge!
Wow, I'm on the phone right now. My refrigerator was just replaced a month ago!! I've unplugged it twice, now waiting for customer service to come back on line

These instructions did not work on my fridge. The Arrow needed to be on the opposite side on the filter instead of lining up with the arrow on the fridge. Use a phone camera to look up into the filter holder to figure out how to line yours up.
After rotating to the left the old filter will not come out. What do I do?
After you rotate to the left, u need to wiggle it out.

Horrible product, after purchasing 6 of the correct filters none are working. When installed water and ice both cease. Had service come out and they are not able to find the problem.
That's certainly not what we'd expect. For us to get a better understanding, can you let us know where you purchased each filter?
Why don't you have a video for the RPWFE filters?? Their instructions say: swing out all the way; DO NOT TWIST; and gently pull out. Ha!!! It pops out about 1/2" and is then STUCK. It will not come out. Is there no video because you know this is a common problem that can't be fixed?
This did not address our model French doors, bottom freezer. It did not disengage easily and did not go back in easily. We were afraid we break something. Finally managed it all but the video would have been helpful to send before the filters arrived.

When I have it installed, and I press the filter status on the fridge it say Err
