Props to you for sharing your experiences on the court. It is never too late to start on the badminton journey.
One suggestion from us: focus exclusively on training for 2-4 months before you enter the next tournament. Improving your footwork and strokes will bring you more joy in your next competitive match.

The best part of playing a sport is there is consolation prize and no sugar coating of bad plays.
Looking at you game, you are at very early stage of picking this game. It is very normal in the beginning to return the shot to the biggest object in the opposite court (Your opponent). This is something very natural in any racquet sports. So you to start thinking in your mind to start doing it. Second thing, badminton is a very fast game, bring some energy to the court. 2 Things to focus !!! Keep trying!!!

It's a great sport and you are still early in your journey. Learning the right technique and footwork takes time and may even seem counter-productive at the beginning. Keep your head up and enjoy your time on courts! Hope to see you improve :D

Racquet grip is essential! Many of your forehand shots were sailing to the right because you weren't holding it properly. Footwork is also very important, a split-step is the first thing you should be doing when receiving any shot-it helps to load your legs and get you from point A to point B quicker and more effectively-and when you are moving to play a shot. Still, there is room for improvement and you shouldn't beat yourself up just because you didn't do too well! I could see the disappointment on your face. Remember: progress not perfection :)

Try not to stand still after your shots move to the middle and if he keeps on targeting your backhand try to take it on your forehand and hit it around the head and try not to hit super flat lifts when under pressure because it puts you under more pressure as you have less time to recover so try to lift to the back and really high hope this helps. Also when ur out of position don’t try to hit fast shots to ur opponent but deep clears to reset the rally.
