He is currently the most feared defender in the league. And u can’t punish Wemby for having a lousy group of players around him ! When Wemby is in the game the Spurs go from last in defense to top 5. That is impact!!!
You’re acting like I discredited Wemby. I mentioned his impact. The truth though is he jumps out of position a lot. He’s nowhere near his max potential defensively. He’s going to be the best defender to ever play the sport, he just isn’t that yet this season

His judgement is improving quickly and he deflects a lot of the passes when he does step out to block. He's the only centre besides Joker in the top 20 for steals. 9 blocks against the Nuggets! Number 1 all time leader in blocks per game! He's already the best defender since Mutombo/Robinson/Olajuwon and he's only recently figured out the NBA style.

I had both Wemby and Chet in my dynasty fantasy team though I traded Chet and Bilal for Scoot, Kobe Bufkin, Zach LaVine, Simone Fontecchio, Patrick Williams, a 2027 first rounder (too 8-10 range), and two second rounders (11-20) range. So you can say I pivoted, though will all the hot prospects from the last two drafts and 14 (1-10) range and 8 (11-20) range first round picks between the 2025 and 2028 drafts inclusive I was in that space of needing to work out how to maximise return and make space for the future 👽.
Wemby is DPOY. He kills in counting stats and advanced stats. Players have stopped challenging him and he still gets his numbers. He’s top 20 in steals at 7’4”. What else does he have to do.
