- Today on JD Cars we have an exciting new performance upgrade! We will be installing the aFe POWER Magnum FORCE Stage 2 Si Pro 5R Cold Air Intake System (54-81012-C) on a BMW 328i (E90). This installation only takes about an hour or two, and requires no special tools other than a torx bit!

Have a 2006 3.0L 6 speed manual 325i with the AFE and exhaust. Made a ton of difference. When I drove my friends exact year, make and model. Definitely see a deference.

How you got it to fit over the throttle body so easily is beyond me.. took me forever and a lot of back pain to get that damn thing to fit over the rubber thing for the throttle body.

I bought the same intake on my E90! Yeah it's expensive but definitely worth it. The sound is amazing! Makes you want to floor your car every time just to hear the intake. Also on that note can you make a video showing how to clean the intake filter???

I bought the exact same intake for my 328i e92, description said it supposedly fit my year and model but had trouble with the fitment couldn’t get it to fit so ended up installing it with out the afe box sadly, but still runs and looks great, it’s an expensive intake but we’ll worth it

Does it cause more air to go in than usual? My old aftermarket intake cause too much air in the engine Wich kept throwing the check engine light

I have the same intake on my E90 and I love it, it is much louder too. I use it without the carbon fiber cover. I've had it for about a year now.

I bought this myself and got it off ebay on a $400 bid , it made a huge difference.
I know the price is steep...but this truly does make a noticeable difference. Also the fitment is perfect...truly a nice kit.

Hey Jd, I just placed an order for this exact air intake. Can you tell me if that rubber connection the kit came with is connected directly to the throttle body, or is it connected to a plastic part off the old air box? It is kinda hard to tell in your video. The only reason I ask is because I have an Injen Intake currently installed, it is connected directly to the throttle body with a similar looking rubber bridge. I recently found out the rubber bridge connecting the throttle body to the intake had melted. Just need to know if i need to go fish out one of the old parts from my original airbox for this new AFE intake. Thanks! Love the videos!
If I recall correctly, I just used that included rubber connecting collar. Everything you need is included! Thanks for watching!

You can find replacement AFE air filters almost anywhere... Amazon offers them.

Nice intake! I don’t trust the oiled filters beings so close to the MAF some people report issues some don’t. I run an AFE dry filter in a euro box with a rev motoring intake boot. A very similar set up! I think you’ll be very happy with it.

on the afe website there is two different ones a darker blue and ones a grey which one is the dry one ?
I tried installing this on my model, but I have issues trying to connect the intake tube into the throttle body adapter. How did you get yours to get in?

I just installed this intake like 2 weeks ago. I noticed a difference in acceleration. My car responds better now. It’s pricey but I mean what ever. Just installed the intake bmw m performance exhaust and a tune on my 330i
was the m performance exhaust worth the money?
I wish it was it was a little louder but I still love it. I payed $1000 for it and installed it at my job. The performance gains uhh barely noticeable especially since I installed the intake so I mean I bought it for sound. It was worth it for me I can say that.
I do have a tune. Just installed that a couple of days ago. I got it tuned after my intake and exhaust. i love my car a lot more
I mean if I were to go by the claimed numbers of each product it should be around 40-50 more hp to the wheels but who knows until i want to take it to a dyno if I ever
thinking of doing a video on BMS Powerbox on my 330i which i've heard some great reviews on, i think i'll do that and couple it with a intake and bmw performance exhaust
Did you have any problems with your mass air flow sensor saying that there was to much air coming throw?
Nope! Worked great with no problems!
should MAF go into the intake tube hole with the green oring?
If you can get it to fit, yes. If you can't get it to fit, use the included black gasket

What are the measurements for the coupler? I bought a used 08 328 with same AFE cold air intake but the idiot did not install the correct coupler so the intake has a gap.

yes is the same engine the difference is n-51 is for states that have strict smog laws like California
Not going to lie I got this for my 07 328i E92 and it was a bitch to put in I swear, for a minute I though I had order the wrong one but after shoving it in I got it to fit! Prefer and nice solid fit.

My MAFS is stuck, and feels like it's gonna break if too much pressure is applied. Any help? I'm about to go pay a shop to do the work in case they break the MAFS and therefore have to replace it.

Followed your video thoroughly and messed the whole thing up, got up until the throttle body adapter and sliding the intake tube through I couldn’t attach it

Patience and persistence is the key. I don't include 10-15mins of me struggling just because a bolt angle was difficult

I have the same car and had the exact same problem, what I ended up doing was removing the metal ring on the inside of it and it works great. Hope this helps!

JD Cars how’s this intake affects your torque? Some people saying that it leads to loose some torque power
Getting that second housing screw in was a nightmare. Took me over 30 min to get that stupid screw to drop and tighten. Besides that, installation was a breeze

How did you get this sponsorship with bav auto?
Anyone have a hard time connecting the hose to the throttle body adapter! I’ve been fighting with it over and over. Is there another part? Am I suppose to use some of the oem piping? It’s like a inch away from being flush
yes there is a rubber boot they add in the package. it goes over your throttle body boot and connects the intake tube....mine was for an N51 and the fitment was horrible! I warrantied it, and had to mix and match pieces to get it to fit snug. deff not an 100% exact fit I was disappointed.

Reginald Dufour I had the same problem. I just forced it on as best I could and tightened the clamp. No vacuum leaks as far as I can tell. Edit: I installed it three months ago, so it’s held in there well enough.
Christian Garcia thx for the update, I’m really scared that the gasket will drop / move away from the tube while I’m driving, creating a vacuum and damage the engine while I’m driving. AFE sent me another gasket but it not the issue here is the fkn tube.....

Nice video, but you cut far too many times, maybe try reading from some notes so you don't have to cut so much. It gets a little tedious.
It don't cut because of my lack of understanding...I cut for one simple reason: attention retention. Pauses with lack of engagement result in loss of attention.
