- With our bees emerging from the winter, it's time to check on them and prepare for a busy new season of beekeeping. Back at the croft, we've run out of space to keep and build our hives, so we're expanding one of our barns to make room for new bee hives and equipment.

I’m so glad I saw your set up for your bees. The platforms with the straps securing the hives are such a good idea. I’m planning on getting 2 hives (+1 empty ready in reserve, I learned that from you) in 2 years. I’m learning so much from you, and thanks for the excellent photography of the hives & bees.

We have had the same problem with the weather here in Southern California. This has been the wettest, coldest, and windiest, spring ever. So tired of being cold. Another rain storm heading our way later tonight into tomorrow, Saturday April 30th.

It's so nice to see the bees waking up, spring is slowly coming alive. I,m waiting for my daffodils and bluebells to bloom. I have a slight irritation at the moment as the people over the road have their daffodils and bluebells in bloom but mine must be on a different timer

I grow as many flowers as possible to attract bees, I help them if they need a quick sugar fix, I love watching programs like yours seeing them at home being busy but tragically I don’t like honey 🤢 good luck with the colony this year.

We're getting 18 cms of snow today and it's just barely above freezing; Monday it was 15C and beautiful. Old Man Winter is being stubborn this year, but Spring will come.
