Leather jackets are a signature choice of every person. I have a few I can’t live without, even in Florida. I just don’t get to wear them often. They look good Jonathan
Bill Jones leather stores, was thee Go-To place in downtown Cleveland, back in the 70’s, for high quality stylish leather jackets. Even the Pimps shopped there. Wanting to impress a certain young lady, on a dinner date, I borrowed my Italian buddy’s BJ jacket and 1970 Gold Impala hardtop. Can still recall the smell of the fondue restaurant and that leather jacket. For one night, I thought I was a Big Shot. Fond teenage HS memories.
Like all your stuff exciting to see... And excited to actually be able to invest in this item... Hopefully you have some big boy sizes... Godspeed and keep up the AWESOME work!
Dude that jacket looks awesome. There's a lot of things in the fashion world that are generally interesting. But I feel like I need an alternative look at them to get interested in said objects. Jonathan Ward you made a f****** interesting jacket.
Funny how we all go to pricing. I think what’s lost is the amount of work a real piece takes. The hard part is, making it affordable. If you partner with a large Corp they take the labor oversees to children and low income workers that allow them to manufacture any thing inexpensively....our economy has changed in the decades since small manufacturers could make this and sell it locally. What a shame, I for one peruse old shops for distinctive jackets, and find that many thrift stores resell to Boutique shops at huge mark ups! Well, that’s capitalism for you! Congratulations Jonathon, I look forward to all you do, in the hopes of recapturing the past. Thank you
Beautiful jackets, beautiful vehicles, I guess if you have assistants, then you can afford such awesome stuff.... I love what Mr. Ward and team creates, but it is like watching lifestyles of the rich and famous to me, totally out of reach. :)
If you're looking for durable & industrial, oil skin jackets can last 100's of years. Oil skin jackets have been found in old mines dating back to the 1800's in like new condition. In fact, I believe some of those jackets may have been original Black Bear jackets.
Call me a sucker, but I’d buy anything johnathan puts his engineering touch on. People who watch this and expect to pay what a Chinese pleather would cost are out of their minds. This jacket will last a lifetime
Materials probably come up to $250. Labour on those metal fixings pushes up the price and then there’s the actual design work and craftsmanship in putting it all together in the correct sizings. I guess that’s why it isn’t cheap, because it’s not a cheap product. Honestly, the more I think about it the more I’m fine with $1900.
For those who complain about price... or using animal skins, Walmart has some jackets made from recycled plastic bottles for you. But for me, I think I'd feel comfy rocking one of these beauties.
@@ICON4x4Design Many thanks, but depending on the sizing, I would be a large to extra large. BTW, I probably watch more of your videos than anyone alive. Love your work!!
Sounds amazing. Not sure I could get over the horse hide though. Can't imagine what my equestrian friends would think of me wearing a horse hide jacket either. Maybe next time use something else for the equestrian friendly crowd?
@@ICON4x4Design I bet - and it looks amazing. Just thinking of that date some guy is on with a beautiful gal who happens to also love horses. Later, (you know later) she peeks at the label, sees the horse hide mention, and kicks the bum out on his arse. He might have wanted that calf skin. But now I'm pissing off the vegans and veal haters huh? Moral of the story - variety is the spice of life. Can't wait to see a whole line of your leather work.
Guys... it's not about political correctness... it's about getting laid... you know, the reason you got the jacket in the first place. We don't live in a culture that eats horses. We live in a culture where many women grow up loving the idea of having their own horse - even if they never get one of their own. Picture this... she's stroking your sleeve complimenting you on your amazing jacket - and I'm 110% sure anything Jonathan Ward does will be amazing - and then she asks, what is it? You tell her it's this amazing custom jacket made by this awesome designer, she asks again, but what is it? Horse hide, you answer. The smile evaporates from her face, and she says 'oh', in the most disappointed tone. Her nose wrinkles-up in disgust, and your chance of getting any is gone. I'm not knocking the jacket. I love everything Icon. Jonathan Ward is an amazing design geek and I love everything he does - including this jacket - just suggesting that next time he might consider another fine leather that comes from something we eat. It may go over better with the ladies - maybe. Food for thought.
I find that those involved with animals, so in the case of horses, those that ride them, are usually the individuals with the best understanding and acceptance of how death is part of the equation.
Nice! Taking your leather crafting to another avenue. Awesome.
More power to your craftsmanship.
Too bad, like your vehicles, this too is just a Dream for me.
I’m looking forward to checking out the lineup of jackets! A lot of today’s jackets just don’t have that look and feel of vintage!
Expensive option but Belstaff make quality products!!! Obviously on a much larger scale.

Beautiful design as always. My guess is this will be in the arena of $7,000 and worth every penny.
Jonathan Ward that seems pretty reasonable, I would’ve guessed about twice that.

I'm guessing 1,800 bucks when goes on sale. Beautiful jacket!
Website says $1925
@@jclaydon3454 wasn't complaining. Guessing the price based on how high quality it is compared to what's out there on the market off the shelf.

Wow Icon actually priced something appropriately for once
Can’t yet afford one of your car creations. Let’s hope the jackets are more within my price wheelhouse. Congratulations, on the new endeavor!
Have you thought about western-style Bibb shirts? I would be extremely interested!
Can you put out a video on sizing so I don’t mess up ordering
Holy shit dude. I want a jacket waaay more than I want one of your hotrods. I let me tell you, I want one of your hot rods real bad.

Beautiful jacket. Prob can’t afford but beautiful nonetheless
I want one but I already know I can not afford it.
Why do we care?
If it’s less than $2k, I will splurge. But my guess is that it will be closer (if not over) to $10k
