The best video I watched about Jokić earning respect from NBA legends were I think 2023. some playoffs game.Denver won,Jokić was brilliant and Shaq with Barkly had their show on court. There was also some former NBA players with them sitting but could not remember exactly.Shaq called Jokić to sit with them, Charles also called him come sit with us bro.Jokić thaught they want to do some game recap, he didn't know what they want him to sit with them so bad.He was confused what is going on, interview or?They called him, not for interview but to show him respect and love as equal. It was like they adopted him as their younger brother, they invited him to their family. This warmed my ❤

The mark of a great player is how he makes the entire team better. I'll bet if you ask Jokics teammates if they would want to play with another team they would say why and hell no.

People always talk about Jokic not being athletic or fast, but he is actually pretty quick. He routinely leaves defenders defending air as he goes to the basket. I think his slow pace fools defenders and when he steps on the gas, it's already too late to guard him.

@@rickteasley2237 understandable, I’m talking about Basketball IQ in reading situations… Bird did what he did in a different context. He got reputation and in the 80s Boston was A Team… Cedrick Maxwell, Tiny Archibald, Dennis Johnson, Bill Walton, Robert Parish, McHale, KC Jones, Danny Ainge, Carr, Pistol Pete……. To name some player that play in his team… Jokic did in a different way… no trash taking, 0 intimidating, no ego, he play smart and makes everybody better.. so solid

Just his measurable productive NBA stats as an over-all basketball player, Jokic has no weaknesses in any basketball statistical categories.
So to you Jokic haters, the presentation of his measurable statistics would warrant him to be the BEST current over-all basketball player in the NBA,
However, to you Jokic lovers, he is currently is still playing his basketball career, although he is the best player at this time, he cannot be among the all-time NBA greats, because does not have longevity on his resume.

American basketball has a heavy emphasis on raw athleticism. European has an emphasis on basketball IQ and team play. Guys like Tony Parker, Manu Ginobli, Nikola, Luca, Sabonis, Giannis, Pau Gasol, even Wemby (freak of nature) are all great athletes in their own respect. It is their European roots, however, that adds so much to the American teams they play on.
The comparisons in the video fall short, in my opinion, because they focus only on his ability for raw output. Nikola is what he is, because he plays European style basketball - AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL POSSIBLE. He may bare resemblance to American players from the past, but, with just a little examination, you'll see that he bears way more resemblance to Luca, Wemby, and Pau than he does to Bird or Magic.

Carmelo is a great player and actually doesn't seem to be a bad person. I didn't like him much before but he kinda matured well. Jokic is obviously greater as a player and needless to say what he will always be for nugetts franchise. And I'm sure Jokic does not desrespect Carmelo. Carmelo should have just let it go and he would have been celebrated for what he is, a great player. Instead by acting jealous he hurt his reputation. You can't demand '' respect'' who have to get it, it comes naturally. And Carmelo is respected in Denver and in the NBA, there's no need to feel disrespected.

Poor Mello, but Jokic had 15 siince her started playing basketball - in Serbia we could choose from 4-15 (12 players) and 4 was always reserved for playmaker and 15 for the center... as for Jokic's modesty, he is fully aware of how great of a player he is, its just that he does not need the praise... there are only a few great all time players whose praise he appreciates... In the Balkans, we only praised people who were either half way to success or not sucessfull at all - so telling Michael Phelps he is amazing swimmer is a redundant same with Jokic - he wil lappreciate the constructive feedback but any frivolous questons or statements will just annoy him... its pointing the obvious... I am waiting for Jordan and Magic to praise him ... thee are the people who we grew up idolising... if you claim you are the greatest of all time like Lebron did once (maybe more) you are out ot that discussion... I hope Jokic keeps on performing and stays healthy... Ajde Nikola, niko od nas ne voli svoj posao, ali cenimo to sto smo dobri u svom poslu!
