Definitely should make a similar video on Alfie’s 🤣 incredible acting from Tom
When Cillian says "Anything" his irish accent is shining through! im suprised they didn't reshoot that sentence tbh
He comes in contact with the Irish a lot in the show, the IRA, major Campbell, his wife… I would be surprised if he didn’t pick ANYTHING up from that
@@wlfg1rl407 not to mention his family is Irish-Gypsy
The one thing I will say in defense of Esme's actress is: Esme is a Lee, who are mixed Romani/Irish Traveler, and still "wild" as opposed to the Shelbys. So she's not truly from Birmingham, but the surrounding country, and an insular community. Really a bit of a wonder her accent is quite as Brummie as it is...
-Why are you dressed like that?
-"Why? Because we fokin can! Because we FOKIN. CAN! And if we CAN, WE DO!" (I love that scene 😂)
Harry Kirton (the actor of FInn Shelby since series 2) is from Birmingham.
I'm so excited about this lesson. I really like the way you teach, it's so entertaining. Thanks a million, keep it up! 💙
I felt so helpless my first time in London with my English I'd learned in German School. 🤣🤣🤣
The actor that plays John (and his brother who plays Michael) both are from Birmingham. Funny enough, with the Rs at the end of certain words, New Yorkers do it too. I've heard someone say Pizzer before. It's weird, New York has like 6 distinct accents that we here being from here.
WE NEED MORE MOVIES WITH BRUMMIES!!!
I second that. I’m Mancunian. I love the brummie accent.
This is Great! I just started watching Peaky Blinders on Netflix and I have to TURN ON THE SUBTITLES!!!! I am from the midwestern US and father is Irish, so I don't have a problem with that accent. I can understand Cockney, RP, Welsh and Scottish. But this one is tricky. The show is very good so I will keep watching. Maybe one day I will be able to speak Birmingham English. My Mother is Cuban and my wife is Mexican so my Spanish is very good. But there are certain accents in Spanish that give me trouble. I used to have trouble with Colombian Spanish until I started watching "telenovelas" from there. I think I am going to do the same thing with the Spanish accents I have trouble with (like the Dominican Republic accent). You and your partner are so good in these videos especially the use of humor (humour - haha - maybe that could be the subject of a video, the spelling differences, like realize and realise :)
That's quite interesting to hear. I'm not a native english speaker but I had no trouble whatsoever watching the show. I've only been to London once when I was 17 and otherwise acquired all my english skills playing videogames online and meeting people. And I most certainly have never met a dude from Birmingham. So perhaps it's easier for someone like me rather than native english speakers not from the UK.
Great job!!! I look forward to each episode.
Well Laura, as a fellow Brummie, I can safely say, you analysed our accent bang on.👍
Your vids are SO good, SO funny... SO educational and understandable AND entertaining!
I love when ya talk with a Birmingham accent ♥️♥️
Love, love, love it
Oh my gosh!!! Thanks a lot for showing us this great and amazing lesson my amazing teacher keep up the good work!!!!!
This video will help a lot to learn some Arthur's accent which i really love it.
Thank you for sharing
I love these videos. This character, awesome Laura!
I really do like your lessons. So funny, entertaining and educating. Keep up the good work. 👍
Love the brummie accent..
It’s fun and entertaining, like the way you present the content 😊😊
Desperately, I'm waiting for the video ❣️
Arthur definitely has the best Brummie accent. Some of the other cast members were not too convincing with their accents.
There’s a good detective series Shetland. I love actors’ Scotland accent, great to hear something different from RP english
I always thought that Arthur Shelby had the most authintic Birmingham accent.
Wow! Greetings from Brazil. I study English and Brummie is by far the accent I love the most. Difficult because, as you said, it's not so much on telly. But sounds great! I definitely would like to learn it.
😂 I loved it - the video and also the accent!❤
Smashing content!!
It's funny how certain Midlands accent words are pronounced identically to my northeastern American accent. "Saw 'im" and "Enything" sounded 'normal' to me
I'm a Brummie, the youngest of my family born in '64
My Father was the second youngest of HIS family, born in 1920. Several of his older siblings were of the 19th century.
I remember when I was very young, the way my Aunt's & Uncles spoke. It was staccato & direct, almost aggressive, everything they said was like a challenge to disagree, they almost didn't blink their eyes. Their speech was also much quicker than I remember from later on. When I've seen Peaky Blinders, that's what strikes me as slightly off pitch, the actors are imitating modern speech, early 20th century Brummie would have been far faster & aggressive sounding.
The streets of Birmingham were quite tough places, it made hard people.
good afternoon laura, the accent is a great one. one reason i dont get the peakys clearly is that they talk with very low tones and a very low voices. i end up not picking anything
Love u very much my first time here watching and luv no word
oh, my god, how i love this accent
That ‘annie-thing’ is an Irish pronunciation.
Im watching the whole add just bcuz i think u deserve it. Please make more videos ❤
That's very good laura Keep it Up
I'm going to try these accents here in South Africa 🇿🇦
Excellent Lesson.
I lived and worked in London for a couple of Years, so I'm fairly familiar with the London Accents, but not at all with the Brummie one.
Well done, Young Lady!
She is doing it by the order of peaky Blinders 😎
Fascinating
I am a Brummie living in New Zealand where people don't understand me so its luvly to listen to this series.
Thank you fantastic.from Algérie
Can you make a video about the accent of nottingham?
Thank you
TOMMMMMMOOOOOOOOYYYYYYY-arthur
Thank you for your video in Korea. Thank you for the English subtitles, too😍
Spot On!!!!
I notice that thomas's accent is different from arthurs. He seems more of the pish posh englishmen (with love) vs a rough and tough englishmen. Fits their personalities, but do they both fit in the same household?
You’re amazing!
One of the actors who starred as Isaiah was born somewhere near Coventry, so not far from Birmingham. Great ear then.
The other is Irish. :D
No Laura, Cillian Murphy who featured Tommy is from North Ireland and is pretty good actor. When I watched the show I thought he is English too then I watched an interview of him and he mentioned that he is from North Ireland
He’s actually from the Republic Of Ireland, Cork I believe! ✨
@@smashingenglish By the way, you look incredible in this uniform, it really fits you. Especially the hat🤠 looks so beautiful on you. Like you're one of the Peaky Blinders cast 😍 you are so sweet and likeable. I love you from Iraq
Great. Cheers from Brazil
I believe that Paul Anderson who plays is from South East London
IM IMPRESSED.
Fascinant

Thank you for the Love of my comment 😅
Nice video Mrs. Shelbeyyy 😂

You are amazing ❤😊
arthur probably has the best brummie accent
Very good job.
...just when you think Laura cannot be more gourgeos she shows herself in this outfit, blimey! 🤍
"Would you rather have chlamydia or a brummie accent?" - the poll finished with the chlamydia winning 85-15
Always felt like Esme sounded more Liverpudlian
I'd love you to analyse Catherine Tate Show episode when she does brummie accent as a dogs' trainer I guess the only difference is that she probably slightly axaggerates coz it's a comedy sketch and it's absolutely hilarious BTW I know someone from B- ham,his nickname is "Tony the moaner"every time I talk to him he sounds like he's ill or there's something wrong with him He is a real character Anyway his favourite catch-phrase is :"The stupid Gohvement"or "I'm fed op with this stupidity and silliness" I think if you really want to do good Birmingham accent you need to moan a bit and pretend at least that you're not that well It'd definitely make it sound better ! Lol 😆
Thank you fo elping os! 😅
Definitely could not have watched this without subtitles lol 😅 it's like another language
If you are seeing this today what a legend dude
Is the ‘Anny-thing’ Birmingham-Irish?
Enjoyed the video so much. Laura is amazing, she’s so charismatic and charming. Also…
Don’t fu€k with the Peaky fu€kin Blinders!!!
Arthur is the best👊
which episode of which season is it?
I fell in love with this girl 😒😒🤣🤣🥰🥰🥰🥰
Do Ozzy next pls!!
Thank you beauty
Isn't Cillian Murphy Irish?
7:55 😂
Esme gets a bit of leeway because she’s a traveling gypsy. They do have a few proper brummies in higher roles
U are cute ma'am 🥰🥰love from NEPAL 🇳🇵🇳🇵 One of your fan from NEPAL 🇳🇵🇳🇵
You are so, so good that you'll go to eaven ! ❤
Dropping h......thats frenchie😂😂😂😂😂

Does Arthur say "Fook Linda" properly?
I love you ❤️
coot is trout
My fri3nds are thinking I'm from the 1920s now, help✨
Благодарю за видео! Очень интересно смотреть) Как относитесь к австралийскому акценту? Я слышал, что многие его не любят... особенно в Америке. Обратил на это внимание, когда смотрел сериал "Оранжевый - хит сезона" ("Orange is a new black"). В 3 сезоне появляется австралийская актриса Руби Роуз (Ruby Rose), и другие герои сериала говорят, что ее акцент их бесит. Комментарий специально написал на русском, чтобы показать, что и в России ваши видео востребованы)
I love Cockney Accent! it's one of my favorites!
Thought yow was a yamyam
You are adorable
Eye ay avin tha black contry slash brum dow exzist its eyva-raw
What about Polly’s accent?
Starts off as Scouse, but I think she improved as the show went on.
The actors might get the sounds more or less accurate - BUT - what's most important is the inflection - no inflection shows not a real midlander.
Can u plzz react to John's wife esme, her voice is nice 😁 can u plzz?🙏🏼🙏🏼
If you haven't seen Peaky Blinders it is strongly suggested and highly recommended, it's Biblical mate!
Peaky accents
Is she speaking birmingham or are they speakin it😂
Nice hands
Wie bitte? Meine Muttersprache ist Portugiesisch. Ich verstehe nicht Englisch. Krass! Es tut mir leid.
Thanks!
