@@alextrainspotterhd6444 your welcome mate and breathing is getting abit worse wasn't well on friday felt so weak and cold bit a little better than i was
I regret not knowing about seeing this station opening. Making it a point to go to the next devon opening (wherever that is - who knows with todays politics - probably torquay). Just looked back on your old vids and cant believe you have done so much. I became a trainspotter due to my dad but lost interest until recently where i found photos of pacers in 2021, yet you have vids of them going back 5 years, I slack. So many of my followed youtubers at this opening, good to see a vid of you there. It seems Beeching's cuts were unwarranted and are now making a come back with Cullompton, Tavistock, Kingskerswell and the new Torquay one (cant recall name).
Great Video! Especially as you DID get the freight at the end! And a fine selection of IETs, Voyagers and Turbos to go before it! AND he got some lovely clouds in as well it only needed Mick Jagger to say "Get off of my ~ " 🤣🤣🤣
@@alextrainspotterhd6444 Thanks for the lol!! "Get off of my cloud" is a real oldie late 1965 what trains we had then diesel hydraulics e.g. Westerns, 47s, 1st generation dmus steam was nearly finished on the then Western Region of BR...
Nice video alex! This is now my most local station and its good to see a lot of people coming to see it! For the best view I recommend going to the end of platform 2 furthest from the stairs. I enjoyed this and its a shame I couldnt come first thing in the morning as I wasnt woken up by my alarm. Decided to get the last trains instead
Awesome quality video Alex, Ashley Down looks good, nice view from the bridge shame their were no toilets, i do agree with you about toilets they should build some when building a new station nice passing trains and good freight too. I've just come back from staying in Exeter for few days saw 3 Turbo's at Topsham, a double 150 at Exmouth, an IET at Newton Abbot with it's nose open and a few Voyergers at Exeter St Thomas too
Thank you Jamie mate I hope you enjoyed your stay down here weather wise tho wasn’t the best last week but I hope you managed to do the things you wanted to do
@jamesroberts6577 they don't need toilets because its not a station passengers are going to spend time like they would in bristol temple meads for example only us would need it like i did in STJ i went in the train. Oh cool your in exeter
Nice video Alex fast trains will may pass through the station at off peak and peak hour because it has an hourly service between Bristol temple meads and Filton Abbey Wood operated by gwr
cool you went there it looks really nice station and a lovely view to spot on the bridge with the bend lol it would do well if its raining. glad its opened up after the closure 60 years ago, the station dosnot need toilets coz people woudnt spend time there like in bristol only us would need the toilets. great tones at the end lol shame the 66 driver was a grumpy one but oh well it was a NHS one and sounded great struggling up the hill. i was in newport and STJ on thursday and in newport i aw lots of freight and the TFW 67 set

It’s a nice station Alex. I like the foot bridge and lifts which is better than the ramps we have Marsh Barton.

To much fence and no toilets !!!!!!!
I do agree there is some fencing that is quite strange I must admit but it is for safety I guess
