Exactly why I want a poodle! Just look at her so sweet with almost this understanding that you are taking care of her. Super fun video to watch. Fantastic job.
Great Video, Thank you! I have a 5 month old Standard and a 4 year old Goldendoodle (Before I knew better) that is 75% Poodle. Everyone thinks he's a Spoo and I like to keep him in the poodle cut. Much cleaner and he looks so good. I learned a lot for watching you both.
Hi ! New to your channel ! Love Standard Poodles and have one now and just lost my sweet Daisy in April 20 to Lymphoma, She was almost 7 years old. I am a self taught groomer, on my SPOO's and still learning different cuts now. Thanks for posting this channel, I promise I we will be your biggest fan
@@goodtimesgrooming8105 Thank You , I currently have a 3 year old light apricot, she is a rescue and so sweet but I have my hands full with her. Nail are impossible !
She's very patient. She knows you know what you are doing. Question - do you ever give the dogs water while you trim them? Dogs get thirsty. Good job! She looks great. Poodles are smart.
Yes if they need it. It only takes me between 45 minutes to an hr and a half to complete a dog depending on the size. So if they need water we give it but they don’t stay with me for long at all. I’m known for my speed
Thank you for the comments! In this video Chelsie is using the Andis 5 speed clippers with Andis ultra edge blades on the body. We’re having a tools video coming out next week. Also, Emily is bring home her SPOO puppy in February and he is going to be our little model so stay tuned for more poodle tips!
You did a great job. I just got a Standard Poodle, Same color and sex too. 6 weeks old. I will transfer my skills doing human hair, (35yrs), to my dog now lol. By the way, you are good with the shears too! How old do you reccommend the dog should be before the first cut? I mostly just want to shave her face for now.
Thank you so much Richard. Most poodle groomers start shaving the face at 3 to 4 months to start getting them use to it. So you are welcome to start now. Doing human hair definitely made dog grooming easier for me. I’ve been doing hair since I was 13. Still do it on the side lol
He hun I use the andis 5 speed clipper to me they are the best. Just make sure you keep the cord straight do not wrap it up tightly when you aren’t using it because it can make the cord go out. Good luck and thanks for watching
Do all dogs pant that much while being groomed? What strikes me Is that she appears to be anxious but is so well trained she remained steady. Thoughts?
Some pant, some dont. We as groomers are trained to pay attention to the demeanor of the dog at all times for signs of stress. This baby was perfectly fine. Once she was done we let her out and she was running around and having fun as happy as can be.
@@goodtimesgrooming8105 that makes sense. You were amazing with her. Didn’t mean to imply otherwise. Just curious about this breed of dog as it always seems poised and so well trained
Absolutely no problem Kelly. Were encourage that people ask questions. We know our viewers care just as much about the fur babies as we do. And thank you.
You’re a great groomer!! She was such a good girl too!! I personally don’t like poodles at all I think they look ridiculous lol but great channel!! ❣️❣️❣️
One tip I will give when you video. First, I enjoyed your enthusiasm and the clipping. Just make sure that you never come in between the dog and the camera. We can hear you but cannot see what you are doing. Keep up the good work.
She looks so sad because she doesn't have her siblings and doesn't understand where they are. I am not a fan of crating dogs. I let them have free run and snuggle in bed.
Crate training doesn’t have to be a prison for dogs. If you introduce the crate as a place of safety and comfort for your animal it’s a great tool for both you and the dog. My parents have a cane corso and he treats he crate like bedroom, he actually walks to his crate willingly and puts himself to sleep.
Hello im actually not being rough with her at all. Its for control. You have to keep the dog from moving to make sure you dont cut it. The dogs move and our jobs as groomers are to keep them safe. So im sorry you felt it was frustrating. But I dont hurt my dogs. I do what I can to keep them safe being that we are using sharp tools. Thank you for your comment.

Hi Chelsea, I'm wanting to start grooming my Spoo and I would like your advice on which clipper/clippers you would reccomend.

Thank you Chelsea, I have heard that the blades tend to got hot quicker on these, do you find that to be true?
She is Stunning. A very good girl. Thanks
How much does this cut cost. ? I’m thinking about getting a standard poodle
Here in Texas we would charge about $90 for this cut.
How long from bath to finish?
For me to do a dog like this it doesn’t take more than about and hr and a half

What clippers are u using?? Money is not an issue and blades
She uses the Andis Excel 5 speed clippers with Buttercut blades! The 7 skip tooth blade is Andis Ultraedge.
Sistah real skills.
Thank you boo
Where in texas are y'all located?
We live in different cities but about an hour from Houston!

Sorry but the sound is hard for me to listen too. But I enjoyed the clip you gave her. She's a pretty girl. I've got 2 Apricot and 1 red Std Poodles.
