Holy crap, I remember seeing this back in like 2014 and thinking this was fantastic! And now in 2021, I still think this is one of the best Lego animations
You know what, this is one of if not the only best animation in a brickfilm. The animation + lighting makes this a masterpeice. 24 frames per second is hard and to see a person make a 8 MINUTE video SHOT AT 24 FPS is so darn respectable. Also the animation tells the story perfectly. I actually turned the volume down and showed to my friend (who didn't see this brickfilm) and he understood everything perfectly. You are probably the Best brickfilmer I've ever seen cause of this.
thank you so much! i think it's really important that films work with no sound so they can be understood in any language! thanks for watching and your nice comment :)
No way its been 13 years!? I remember watching this when it said 1! Happy I didn't fully remember just how top quality the animation and lighting is here, it was such a surprise from my faded memory. I really miss this era of lego animations on YT, things have changed a ton now. Glad this short still standing here like a stone pillar though. Still fantastic as it was over a decade ago!
@@mobdeli Then was the comedy and set design, now it extends into the lighting, camerawork, and voice acting / timing of the comedy. Nice to see it through an updated lens, too!
This film is an absolute masterpiece. I constantly find myself forgetting that this is stop motion because it is so smooth. I also love the opening scene with the scorpions.
6:27 only the first 3 pharaohs of the first dynasty buried their servants alongside them. Afterwards they were given painted figurines called "Shabti" to replace them. A much more friendly practice, I assure you.

@@mobdeli I quite like the fact that the professor is completely unfazed by deadly spear traps and reanimated skeletons, either because he's sauced out of his gourd on wine or maybe he's just used to it by now.
Its so funny and unexpected where it takes everything, it doesn't do any movie stereotypes, it does have character stereotypes but there done in such an obscure way that its unrecognizable to predict want will happen like the evilness character dying almost instantly in the first 1/4 of the film really throws an unexpected factor, the chardonnay joke is so well funny XD and the two scorpions fighting at the start was so anticlimactic and hilarious.
