This is excellent! I whole heartedly support this. I believe that this is the correct way to process those who have passed. We must make life from death 🍃🍃🍂🍂🍂
I had a family member pass and they had an online funeral through this funeral home (since it was mid pandemic). It was absolutely beautiful, intimate, and heartfelt. That's how I found out what this is and now this is how I want my body to be dealt with!
This the first time I’ve heard of this process. I think this is absolutely amazing and beautiful. How organic and natural this is so beautiful. Thank you for informing ppl on this new process. Would like to see this be the new way🥹
I want this and then to end up in a botanical garden with non stop sunflower seeds planted in my little paddock! This business needs to expand to the UK because we have no space!
I would absolutely love to do this. I know it's weird to most, but I just feel like loving people and treating them special, especially after they've passed is so healing for the family. By taking care of the patient, you're taking care of the mourning family. I just find it really lovely.
I have been following them for awhile, ever since I saw it mentioned on Caitlin Doughty's "ask a Mortician" series. This has totally changed my end of life plans. I am 100% for terramation!
Wonderful alternative to the traditional methods of final disposition (embalming & cremation) of the deceased. A much gentler, natural and environmentally safer choice. Hope Return Home will open a facility in Southern California in the near future, since it has now been legalized here in our state. Thank you for what you do!
For everyone wishing they had this in their area, an amazing alternative is to be buried in a natural shroud without being embalmed, you will turn into soil with time. A tree or garden can be planted on top of your burial. Many cemeteries now have a green burial section where you can be buried without a casket or embalmment. 👏🏼
This is absolutely amazing! I didn't know this even existed until I saw Caitlin Doughty talk about it on her RUclips channel. Thank you for sharing information and walking us through the process. Very well done! This is how I want to be laid to rest.
What a beautiful process! Im truly glad to hear about this and most definitely an option I’ll consider. I love the idea of death being able to create beautiful life :)
I have always wanted to be a Mortician. I ended up putting my dreams on hold bc I have 3 kids and cant hold a full time job and go to college over an hour away. I have always said its the job i wanted but not the way i wanted to go out. I wanted to return to what made me. This makes me so sad i dont have my degree to actually be able to return those who have passed to the earth that we are formed from. This is a huge step in an amazing right direction to make death feel normal and safe. Taking some of the horror out of what happens to those whos time is over and that we can give back.
Absolutely beautiful, I think this is definitely the wave of the future, this and green burial, which is essentially the same except one just speeds up the process.
If soil sticks to your hands during the process, would you be content to simply wipe it off with a tissue or would you prefer to use a bidet to properly clean yourself.
Two questions: what do you do about the smell? And do you hiys do makeup if its really horrific/ person dies in a horrible condition how do you make it feasible for others to view?
In the UK we need more choice than just burial or cremation. That is mostly what we have got, I would much rather be turned into proper soil like this, it is far more natural. Please expand to the UK.
Does the families come back for the scattering or do you let them know it was done? This is nice. Not sure if it is for me but nice to know the option.
When did this become legal in californiana? I just wrote a paper on natural organic reduction and I said it was not 😂 but I’m glad bc this is my wish for my remains 🤍
it's currently not legal in california yet. There is a version of this in california but it's done by first cremating the body and then those remains would be mixed in with compostable soil. Which honestly is ironic considering that the reason why one would want to choose human composting is to be a more alternative green version. But California's version does the same amount of damage that you would do if you were to just cremate the body. Hopefully, this does become legalized in California.
Should be against the law, the body needs to be in a container, to rot and left there, a human body is not like a dog or or a cow, turned into fertilizer, make it illegal
So you profit from the dead , point taken 😮 but they’ve been doing this type of disposal for thousands of years 😊 life & death are inevitable that’s the price for been an organic organism 😊

Not to be morbid, but this is exactly how I want to be laid to rest. I hope y'all can expand nationwide so this is available for me when my time comes
Same :)
If it comes to the uk I'd do it

I want this too. I love nature as my children do too. They could plant beautiful trees or flowers in the remains.
I ❤agree

I am a funeral director in the U.K. and I would love for this to be an alternative greener option for people to choose.
These folks are amazing !!

I live in WA and this is perfect!
Thanks for sharing this with us. It is exactly what I wish to have.
does the soil have a smell?
I've already told my kids this is what I want

Interesting and great video!👍👍👍
Wish that is available in Hawaii
I really love this ❤
Beautiful solution would love to work with you guys but unfortunately there's nothing like this in Ireland 💕✨
I would love to work for them if they came to California ❤
We came from earth and back we are to earth
I wonder if this would be legal in Canada one day
Nice💯
I have no shame in saying I want the nicest coffin possible and a beautiful gravestone. Maybe a bench? A statue or two?
Cool
Next …they will be using the Rich Compost as a GREEN FERTILIZER on your Gardens to help grow your food you eat..
This is my desire for my body.

The governor was waiting till after that stupid recall vote to sign the bill it had already passed both he state house and the senate.
Sounds cheaper than cremation
Huh? Who approved this horrible video and program? I plan on composting but not at Refinery29.
Yikes!
