I remember a long time ago, long before I’d even heard of any of this awakeking/enlightment stuff, I attended a yoga festival in Rishikesh (in India) with my mom. And before dinner every night there was this gathering by the river where we sang songs like theese and remember the first 3-4 days I was so angry, annoyed, hungry, irritated, and the singing seemed to go on forever. But after 3-4 days I sort of gave up and that experience was the most important of the whole India trip - just to for the first time for me actually witness that agitative ego sort of state I operated from back home 100 procent of the time (this was before I had kids). It was so important. I wish to go back there some day and see everything (even the cows that blocks traffic) with new eyes.

I just started to read this comment now like this was someone elses with this sort of judging reading glasses I put on, looking for flaws, looking for something to correct, until I realized it was me 😅 (true story)

Oh that’s so beautiful! ❤ When you wrote your first comment, you came at it with your heart self. When you came across your message the second time, you were approaching it with your ego self. 😊 What an opportunity for spiritual growth! Well done friend. 🙏🏻

This comment is to peacefully protest the gatekeeping of RD’s lectures. Common complaints as clarified by the community on the Ram Dass subreddit are as follows.
Removal of content, privatizing/licensing out content, copyright striking others who post content without replacing what was removed or providing another means to access the content.
Restriction of what is released, cutting and editing pieces of full lectures and not releasing the full lectures themselves.
Putting a paywall in place that provides access to still limited content.
Access to content is overall severely limited compared to just a year or two ago.

Can someone help me understand how Ram Dass wanting to play music while the angry man approached is attachment? Was Ram Dass attached to the desire to calm the man down? He should have just let him be? This is around 1:12:30

I believe he was attached to his belief that his music can heal and calm the man. So that's why the guy broke the instrument, but also I suppose why he threw the holy book. Because Ram Dass thought I could heal him with music and quotes. Like when he was speaking of doctors being attached to doctoring and healing people
