We are missing the logical fact that the spider replaced their "communications" nen user Pakunoda with Kalulto. Their abilities are worlds apart. Anyone getting into the troop cannot have their memories read by Pakunoda. This was the perfect moment to get into the troop and lie about your abilities.

That's ironic because if Kurapika had attempted to get revenge on Chrollo, he would have lost Gon and Killua, his friends. That was his weakness.
Now Chrollo is going to fail the same test. Getting revenge for his lost comrades will cause him to lose the rest.
Though I may agree, in this cause it actually doesn't matter. Even if Chrollo said to his gang that we should do nothing, Hisoka will stop at NOTHING to kill all of them. He's insane and has made it clear he wants his battle erection satiated.
It felt like the original troupe (in the panel) collectively were choosing to give up their souls for sarasa’s revenge. They knew it wasn’t going to be a nice journey. that note must’ve been something

I just KNOW everything is connected somehow. The Kurta, Phantom Troupe, the Kakin, Pariston, etc. Everything is connected somehow, and I NEED Togashi to tell me how.
- The note the troupe left seems to imply the Kurta took something from Meteor City or were set up (by Sheila, for example)
- Sheila and Pariston could be the same person, but even if they're not, they're definitely connected.
- Tserriednich is connected to both the Kurta and troupe since he owns so many fucking Kurta eyes. He might also be involved with Sarasa's death, but we have no evidence.

It feels like the entire series up to this point has just been the opening of a Gungi match. We've only just finished setting up the board with all the pieces in place of the board that is the Black Whale, and now the actual game has started.

Also, it's kinda dawned on me, that Chrollo just kinda accepted that he can't beat Kurapika. This is the same person who was kinda playfully serious going against 2 elite Zoldyck assasins and against one horny bungee gum. Chrollo was like: "I know I can't defeat you, but he can" type of situation

Kurapika have a prefect concept coming up with mechanism coming up with his hastu ability for the troupe and Chrollo very broken ability render their hastu.
But this could end up in an interesting situation regarding post mortem nen. If chrollo dies with regret or resentment towards the person killing him id either imagine his skill hunter stealing that persons whole capability to use nen or maybe all the abilities in his book go crazy
The killers that tortured and killed Chrollos childhood friend is one of the Princes from the Kakin empire. The same prince he sold the scarlet eyes to.

In all honesty, I think there's a lot to be said about Togashi's portrayal of the dark side of humanity, and I feel it's interesting how both times tapes of cruelties play a part in it.
When the spiders get killed one by one. Chrollo might loose his composure and lash out.
He may not care about his own life but what good is the spider with its head remaining

@@HermannTheGreatyeah he isn't emotional. he sees people as tools to use and classifies them by their usefulness. he's basically the only one that believes in the principals he came up with for the spiders. to him letting kurapika kill him was an obvious answer because they shouldn't have any emotional attachment to chrollo.

Imagine the spider become an important group in the third prince mafia and at the end the third prince let the mafia under kurapika control in case anything happened to him or his uncle 💀 this would be much more complicated scenario for Kurapika

Yeah it’s not really the troupe’s fault. They didn’t make Hisoka want to fight them, and yes they really hurt Kurapika, but the story keeps saying that he needs to let go and move on.
Saying revenge is simply “letting go and moving on” is the most asinine thing, especially those that never had to experience it express to just “let it go”

I’m so curious about how all this plays out. Normally writing is pretty standardized with only a few options for where any plot will go that will result in good writing. But this whole beautiful mess has infinite ways it could go and result in good writing
I also think that the zoldycks have an escape plan in case something goes wrong. Like said the Zoldycks are more loyal to the family instead of the spider so it’s hard for me to believe that they wouldn’t go into this situation involving the dark continent without some plan.

The spiders also feel like a darker Hunter Association. Just like the HA lost its head but kept going, so too would the spiders, and maybe even their trajectory and values would change too. Maybe kurapika could be the next head 😮

Kurapika has one thing that no one else has, Gon’s friendship. Kurapika will break his cycle, it’s the only pay off that makes sense for Kurapika and gons relationship. This ain’t no JJK
The "original members getting gradually replaced" also makes me think of The Zodiac. Which coincidentally (or not so coincidentally) has the same number of members, 12. The death of Netero and departure of Ging and Pariston resulted in a messy chairman election, and then Leorio and Kurapika hastily being added to the Zodiac. Given the assured chaos soon to take place on the Black Whale, more members will likely perish. Will they be replaced, too? Possibly. They are overly concerned with appearances.
If there's any trope that tends to recur in every arc of HxH, it's that when the main characters show up, the established order as has existed in stability for years or decades is going to be overthrown, and chaos will ensue with a later attempt at reorganization.

I can't help but wonder if the troupe deaths coincide with their original fortunes in yorknew.
I always had a theory that if Kurapica becomes the leader of the Spider with all the Spiders involved in the Kurta massacre being killed. Chlorro, towards the end, gives his life to save Kurapica and tells him to lead the remaining Phantom Troupe members and to continue his vision and become a better person than he became, and Kurapica reluctantly becomes the leader of the new Phantom Troupe.
That sounds extremely unlikely.
Nyxantos That is why I said it is a wild theory. Spider's concept is good because they will die for their cause and not betray their teammates. Also, they fight to ensure the Spider always survives and protects Meteor City. The problem is that they became evil and ultimately went to the dark side. Throughout the whole thing, I said that a lot of ifs have to happen, and it is a wild theory. First, Chlorro has to die, and the Spiders would do something to help Kurapica out. Kurapica has to let go of their hatred, and the Spiders acknowledge their mistakes. Also, we have to find out the full story with Sheila. So, in the end, it can turn out that the Spider will survive, with the majority being dead and Kurapica being the new leader and recruiting new members.
i dont think hisoka would be even a little bit interested in being apart of the phantom troupe again let alone its leader that would seem like more of a drag than the exhilarating thrill he's after

I got theory that when Gon reawaken his nen, He will be the third person with a powerful residual nen after chrollo(because of judgement chain) and hisoka (because of death.) imagine Gon casting out jajanjen without any buffer.😅

I am just waiting on the day you do a video on what you think Hisoka and Illumi have planned, I agree so whole heartedly that illuminates is acting very weird. I wonder if he is going to help Hisoka or if they are going to have an all out fight. It's so strange how Hisoka at every turn confirms Illumis strength but has no interest in fighting him, except that one moment. I am always curious is Illumi and Kaluto can be considered actual members for both Kurapika & Hisoka.

My one thought od the Mochi will actually be the one to slay Hisoka. She was the one who brought him in and the one he left for dead after his resurrection. I think he will kill most of the others and maybe mortally wound her, but she will take him out to.

Chrollo is My Favorite, but if he Doesn't gets an Development & change of heart, he does deserves what is comming to him. Maybe losing all of his "family" (troupe") Members will Trigger Something in him. If It's good or bad for others, that's his decision.
Chrollo is a monster with no regrets that deserves to die. I swear everyone bends over backwards to excuse a hot character with a sad backstory.

No offense NewWorldReview, but nobody's fate is sealed. At this point, anyone can die at the hands of anyone or not even die at all. Chrollo might be killed by the 4th prince, Kurapika might be killed by Illumi, Hisoka be killed by Leorio. Togashi is unpredictable.
Anything can happen, which is why this Arc is gonna be mad exciting...if Togashi ever finishes it.
Togashi is practically difficult to predict, but thematically? I don’t know. If you’re reading between the lines, you can usually see the tragedies he’s setting up ahead of time.

Yes the flashbacks are pointing to their eventual demise but again, specifically stating Hisoka will wipe out all of the spiders is wishful thinking. Togashi is too complex of a writer to be so straightforward. Dark Continent Arc will be York New City Arc on steroids: grounded, complex and unpredictable.

while i do like the charater studies, here is a thing that could make for a good talking point video.
i feel are whale ride is taking way to long (the breaks don't help of course) and we are focusing to much on the mundanity of mafia style power systems like the succession war and the phantom troup rather than this amazing creative world of imagination and wonder.
form the one image we have of our destination and how long it feels like we have been sailing we should have far left the safe waters and enter the dark sea,
from the image we see some kind of leviathan, a kracken and 3 umibozu that would be ship sized yet nothing yet and beyond is a world with so many questions of amazing things like
*) A strange floating ring structure - what is that
*) a big one some kind of city next to the volcano's on the left - did humans live hear first and then migrate to the island in the center of the lake,
*) the 3 fanceless giant creatures behind the city - what are they
*) and the big one - the world tree at the center with it vastly dwarfing everything else and its top either disapering beyond the dark clouds or is producing the dark clouds that cover the skies of the entire conternet bombarding it with the red lighting.
what is this tree? what is at the top beyond the dark clouds? if the dark clouds cover the entire planet how come we cant see them from the human world?
we heard of both the fantastical and the horrifining of this world, of imortal rice and power stones, of demons of destruction and one that we have never seen that just gives you a ride back and forth and no of it has been explored.
and i feel that by the time we get to this fantastical world where creativity will shine, it will be to late and the series will end.
