Did Darci make the right decision to go solo?
Nope, now she’s just another good (not exceptional) singer. It was her ventriloquism that did it.

Most likely it was the best decision, because the Superfans of these spinoff episodes of AGT are notorious for not voting for singers. Either way as a singing ventriloquist or as a singer she wasn't going to win. So it good that she let the whole country know at the same time that she is now a recording artist as well.
"i used to be really shy, so mum give me a puppet, to help me". Puppets helped her. She's not shy anymore. She can go solo.

Actually during her original audition on AGT at 12, she said that she USED to be shy. I've heard Darci sing solo since she was 13. More specifically she wants to establish herself as a solo artist in addition to her other extraordinary talents.
I'm reminded of the old Disney movie, Dumbo, where the mouse gives the baby elephant a feather which "gave" him the ability to fly. Darci's puppets gave her much needed confidence. Now Darci is 19, and a very polished stage performer. She's a talented singer and the fear is that she'll drop the puppets entirely since they were something of a crutch that she no longer needs. But! There are so many talented singers out there performing who are just as good. So, I doubt that we've seen the last of Petunia and Oscar, etc. They have become a part of her, and while she may sing without them on occasion, I think they'll always be with her.

@alkholos I agree with your comment. I would just like to add that when referring to her confidence and talent as a solo singer, she hasn't needed the puppets for quite a while now. But it's awesome that she still uses them because there's only a very few that come even close to the talent she has as a ventriloquist. Many people focus on just her singing both ways, but forget that Darci is hilarious, and you can certainly add comedian to her list of talents.

Yes Darci has greatly improved as a singer, singing ventriloquist, and comedian. I enjoyed 6 of her variety shows which were spectacular!

What the hell are they talking about? She still was performing as a ventriloquist, even though she performed part of the act with her straight voice, which was absolutely excellent!

It's not that she bad in fact I quite enjoyed her act but in the sake of the TV show and the competition she no longer stands out, most acts on the show are singers and for Darci to drop the puppet she just another singer. And it's not that she bad but it was the puppet that made her stand out in terms of the show.
I honestly am tired of the singing acts, their other shows for that like American idol or the voice, I want to see others talents
@@Heavenly_Fury Well either you have never really seen her act or you're blind. Because it was very clear to all of us that she again incorporated a large part of her singing as a ventriloquist. She combined the two, and the singing was perfect in both ways. Her regular voice and the one that she makes coming out of her puppet! And there is definitely no one else that can perform so accurately as she does. In this field, she is absolutely unique!
just because shes good at it doesn't mean she needs to do that forever. its always up to her, and if she doesn't win, so be it. she knew it was a risk anyway, she killed her solo performance and I think it would be super fun for her to go back to working with petunia sometimes for some performances, but solo is her main act now. shes growing, and she should not be put in a box like that.
Darci has always been multi talented and AGT knows it. No one is trying to put her in a box. The judges comments were just for the competition. Darci's career has been much bigger than just being on AGT.

Agreed. Like she won AGT once already. So who cares if she doesn't win this one. If she wants to make it as a singer, this is the perfect opportunity for her to truly showcase her talent and maybe make a name as a professional singer.

The judges felt that Darci was voted into the Fantasy League competition because of her ventriloquism. The judges should have praised Darci for her first performance that included Petunia and ventriloquism. For Darci's second performance Heidi said that she would be grouped into all the other singers, meaning that it would be more difficult for Darci to win the competition. They weren't mad at Darci. They wanted to see her go farther in the competition, which meant they felt Darci needed to do something very unique like her full-fledged ventriloquism.

It’s crazy that this was 7 years ago and I remember watching her on my first season watching this show and 7 years later is just crazy
I’m really pissed off with the judges I mean that was absolutely amazing
I was really upset with the judges for not praising Darci for a spectacular performance. This was a very unique act that nobody has seen before. But I think that the judges were concerned that Darci would be grouped in with all the other singers. And singers usually do not get the votes from the Superfans.

Darci’s performance that was so so brave I loved watching her solo as much as I love petunia I’m really happy she’s finding her own voice and I dislike the negative opinions shared because she deserves to not be shoved in a box like that!
I was upset that the judges did not praise her more for her spectacular performance. But I think for the competition that they were afraid that the Superfans wouldn't vote for her to go to the finals because they traditionally don't look at singing as a unique act.
I love watching Darci Lynn grow up and I feel like I've also grown up with her as we were both born in the same year just 2 months apart from each other and she is an amazing singer, ventriloquist and comedian

Mu family are in the music producing business. This lady has an outstanding voice. Her talents are off the charts. We are in awe of her skills. We first saw her at 11 on another talent show and were in awe then also. Good on this lady for growing as an artist. She can sing with the best of the best and is a genuine nice person with a loving family.

It's crazy to think that people in this world think they have an opinion on what she does. 7 years ago she was doing the exact same thing but now in her own way. She had to live up to CELEBRITES expectations on being a ventriloquist when she can do whatever her heart desires. If I was her I would do they exact same thing.

Darci has always been more than just a ventriloquist. I love her song Just Breathe, which she co-wrote and sang back when she was 16. It's a very beautiful song.

Darci is by far the best ventriloquist I've ever seen. She talks and sings through her big smile. Terry Fator and Jeff Dunham both have their mouths open with an expressionless look on their faces.
What are you talking about lol. Terry and Jeff are legends and masters of ventriloquism, their comedy material and interaction with their puppets are miles ahead of Darci. She's good but she does safe and more PC comedy.
I was just pointing out the differences in their act. The way that they hold their mouths when making their puppets talk. Yes they all are good, they just have a different way to perform. I wasn't trying to minimize their talent, just noticing the way they interact with their puppets when making them talk.

The only thing I would argue is that I couldn't always tell when she was supposed to be singing, and when the bunny was supposed to be singing, but I don't think she should get rid of the act at all. I really love the fact that she incorporated music with her ventriloquism, It's just something that needs to be perfected. She's really good and I can't wait to see what she does in the future.

I feel like this is another Hannah Montana moment. Miley Cyrus said in an interview that people needed to understand that it was character she played. It was time to move on from Hannah Montana, she was grateful for what it gave her, but in the end, she was just a character. Same here, she was 12 then, shes now 19 and doesn't want to be remembered as that little 12 year old girl. Good for Darci for being true to herself!

Tbh I think those other judges were just mad they couldn’t pick her😂 she is outstanding and there is no rule or anything that makes it bad to do something different. They should be paying attention to the TALENT and not what is different from her original performances.

Honestly, the main reason people voted for her to win is because she was singing AS A VENTRILOQUIST. That talent is SO MUCH HARDER to Master than just singing on its own.
If she wanted to do something more “grown up” she should have just gotten a Darci doll and done her performances that way.
Singing alone isn’t just about her growing, it’s suffocating an extremely unique part of her that people absolutely love to watch.
She also said in her audition,
“I want to keep ventriloquism alive because it’s not that common. Ya know?”. So for her to throw it out completely, that is NOT the talent that the audience voted to watch… regardless of how amazing she is as just a vocalist.

the judges just can't compare two things of different categorys and judge like it can be only one thing, she sing so well, but I think they were expecting her to do way better than the last time and that's why they were not sooo happy with the change

The judges were unfairly condescending. Darci Lynn performed on a professional level as good as any country singer. Excellent control and timbre. Very good song, but it could have showcased her talents to better effect.

@user-lf2mr4xf9p It's not a matter of her right. She's got to choose a song that'll bowl them over. That's what the competition is all about. And she was so good before that she's got to top herself now. Not fair, but that's how these competitions work.
