Random mostly ignorant thought- If the poles on the sun flip every 11 years on average and it takes 22 years on average for a full cycle going from positive to negative back to positive, would that account for the last time the sun emitted mass radiation bursts being roughly 20 years ago ? Also, what polarity is the sun currently at as we are close to the solar maximum ? Do we get more activity/ flares during a positive maximum or negative maximum or is roughly equal ?

Current LascoC3 data skips over that new flare event... it skips from 13:30 to 20:06 UTC... that new flare took place at 14:00+/- UTC... weird...
