That was my favorite cartoon! I watched it every time I possibly could.
Shaggy and Scooby were hilarious, but every once in a while, they solved a case.

    H/H match update:
    ...
    Today's action:
Our champion pulls of a third victory thanks to that classic Match Game answer "tinkler."
Today's audience match question: "________ Doo" (Notice the bathroom theme they've got going there?)
The celebs: Fannie (zippity doo), Richard (voo-), and Jo Ann (doo)
    The choice: Voo-
The answers: Dippity, Voo-, Scooby (Note: "Dippity-Do" hair styling products are spelled with just one "o", but as Gene often says, spelling doesn't count, and the audience match answers often disregard spelling, even with people's names.)
Well, add another $250 to our champion's haul. Now I'm wondering who she'll pick for the head-to-head match. After two non-matches, it seems she doesn't have the "ESP thing" going with Richard. I think she might be better off with Jo Ann or Fannie, but I expect she'll choose him again.
Yup. She says (sarcastically?) "I've done so well with Richard..."
This is now Richard's 18th consecutive go at the H/H match...
    Today's H/H question: "Milk and _______"
Wow. No definitive answer springs to mind. Milk and eggs? I don't like it. Milk and honey? Hmm.
The poor contestant looks numb, possibly resolved to the fact that she's never going to hit a H/H match. Richard does a quick face scratch and side glance toward Fannie, and writes an answer at least five letters long.
The contestant seems to have come up with a good answer while Richard was writing. "Cookies," she says with determination. That does sound like a great answer! Maybe they'll pull off a match after all! The audience seems to approve (although they also shout out milk and honey). Richard's expression is uncharacteristically negative (usually he's totally unreadable). Is he merely acting to heighten the drama, or is he genuinely disheartened?
Richard has it! Cookies! They finally match!
Richard scores his 157th H/H match.
Here's the updated leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy:
    Orson Bean - 100% (4 wins in 4 attempts).
    Gary Burghoff - 83.3% (5 wins in 6 attempts).
TIE: Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts).
TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts).
    Fannie - 52.6% (10 wins in 19 attempts).
    Betty - 50% (17 wins in 34 attempts).
    Charles - 47.7% (21 wins in 44 attempts).
Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts).
    Richard - 41.0% (157 wins in 383 attempts).
    Brett - 38.5% (20 wins in 52 attempts).
    Bert Convy - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts).
*These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 662, excluding the lost/missing/damaged episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325, and 645. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!")

This episode and the prior one are a good example of the huge flaw in this game that has always bothered me. The winning contest here had the potential to match 6 out of 6 on both her questions, and they were the easier questions too. The other contestant had the potential to match a maximum of 2 on each of hers. It was basically impossible for her to win unless the other person really fucked up.

Privacy Match Game has nothing to do with skill, it's all luck. You hope you get the easier question, and you hope you're thinking the same way, as 6 other people. Like all games of chance, it's mostly the luck of the draw.
