- Welcome to the DC Comics Art Academy, a series of art tutorials and interviews recorded at Comic-Cons featuring many of the gifted and unique artists working for DC today. In today's installment, illustrator Stanley "Artgerm" Lau takes the stage for a talk about his career. He sketches both Batgirl and Supergirl while discussing what it's like to draw variant covers, switching between traditional and digital mediums and why he doesn't draw interiors.

Met him in person twice during the 2017 & 2018 Asiapop Comic-con here in Manila. Very talented guy & takes time to have his pics taken with his fans.
Met him four times at SDCC in San Diego. He’s really cool and down to earth. Bought several prints through the years and he signs them and my comics that I bring. Great all around guy. When’s Asiapop Comic Con? I’m going back to PI next year

I found him on Deviant Art and did not know he did comic covers, I really liked his art. I had seen some covers and thought "that looks like Artgerm???". very good style.

I believe he is using the Copic Gasenfude [Nylon Brush]. I have this as well it's a cool brush defintely need to practice with it.

Wow. Another vid where ya can't see anything. Suggestion, how about ya don't put the light directly over the reflective paper and move it slightly to the left or right. That way the light wont wash it out and we can see the pencil markings better. Quite a few of these artist's works aren't really visible in these vids and that sucks. Great for the audience there I'm sure but bad for us. Hopefully some system gets figured out. Its such a shame :(
