This video is so old now! I appreciate all the feedback and support you guys have shown me on this video over the years! It has almost a million views which is crazy to me! I'm thinking about getting back into making RUclips videos and making more DIY's and beauty DIY's because of all the support I have gotten on this video! Make sure to subscribe if you want to see more in the near future! :)
I saw this ages ago and now RUclips’s recommending it again xD I think I’ll take you up on that subscription offer! Didn’t realize I wasn’t already subscribed lol
My darling, you are lovely. There's no reason to be so self-conscious and worried about your appearance. Your nose is fine, your hair is fine and whatever it was you apologized for as you parted your hair (extensions?) were completely unnoticeable. Relax. Enjoy your youth and try to believe that you are perfectly wonderful just as you are.
Holy cow, this is just what I needed *-* I'm too much of a cheapskate to go out and buy a bunch of stuff that I'll only use once, but this is sooo helpful :D
I've honestly never seen elf ears anywhere near $50. You can buy them for quite cheap from a lot of places and then a small bottle of spirit gum/adhesive, which will last you a long time since you don't need much to hold the ears on. This is a great method for those that can't order or find silicon ears, or if you lose them etc. Looks great on you!
So first, that was waaaaay easier than I thought. I also wanted to comment on something you said. You said elf ears can run you from 50-100 dollars. I just bought mine for seven, in the same breath- I already had Scotch tape... :] That was a great tutorial.
Your tutorial was very helpful and quite charming. You are very attractive and you needn't be so hard on yourself, appearance-wise. You seem so sweet and remind me of all the lovely people my sons have introduced me to at GenCon. Thank you and be well.
Funny that you thought your hair was gross, its absolutely beautiful!! Same with your nose :3 I also noticed we have the same name (Taryn). Torren is my internet name, if you wondered.
These are good for a last minute cosplay / photoshoot/ etc. but I bought my elf ears from a local Renaissance festival for only $15..? Haha I've never seen any ears go above $35, even very large fantasy decorative ears. Thank you for the tip though c:
I know this is old but my mind is BLOWN!!! I was looking for tips on getting the fake ears on my son for his Link costume but this is WAY BETTER! And these don't hurt his ears! THANK YOU! I wish I had found this years ago.
Ahhhh I remember being young and being so worried about my appearance ESPECIALLY my hair!! You’re gorgeous! Btw you saved my daughters Halloween, tried to find ears small enough for her tiny ten year old self and NOTHING. Any way, thank you so much, clever, cute and adorable that you are!❤️
Also try setting the concealer with translucent powder so it doesn't rub off on your hair or anything and lasts longer. A good trick if you're doing this for a fair or for Halloween and will be wearing it for a while. Also, btw, people only notice your "flaws" when you point them out. Nobody would have thought for a second about your hair or your nose (which really didn't look so big anyway) if you hadn't pointed them out.
Hi Taryn, this is a great video! I'm totally sharing it. It made me sad though when you picked out your apparent flaws. You hair looks amazing even while it's fading and your nose looks cute and perfect even at a close-up angle. Be kind to yourself. You are clearly a beautiful, fun, funky and talented person, but even if you stripped all of that away, you'd still be worthy. You have worth intrinsically, as a human being, so add everything else back on top of that and you are seriously amazing. Love yourself girl. You deserve it!
You shouldn't put yourself down so much!:c who cares if your hair isn't died, if you can see your extensions or if your nose looks big at a certain angle haha xD I think this is a great tutorial but probably better for pictures
I had a feeling that was how you did your ears, Thats what ill be doing till i get my prosthetics and ill be using my prosthetics as often as possible till I get my ears modded XD
SparkleyKittyCat285 she wouldn't look like a freak. If she wants to mod her ears to look like elf ears then let her do what she wants. Yes u are entitled to ur opinion but it's her body and she may do whatever she pleases with it. I for one think it would look very cute and encourage her to do it.
Omg you just saved my life for my costume lol, all the fake elf ears I got don’t fit my ears! And this just saved my life thank you so much! You got a follow and I don’t do that at all lol.
Omg, this is so great for me. I have 4 different costumes I'm wearing for Halloween and I need to be able to switch between them pretty easily. (Princess for the kid friendly party and answering the door, elf for the horseback riding costume competition, fox for just being me with my friends, and bellydancing costume for when I'm bellydancing at a friend's party later that night.) using the pre made ears with the glue just isn't practical.
Wow! I am going to be Legolas for Halloween (on a tight budget) and I've been stressing over what fake ears to buy...this is great. Thanks so much for the tutorial; you've probably saved me about 15 bucks. :) Totally subscribing. Also, your hair looks fantastic!
This is the cheapest, easiest, quickest, most natural method! It doesnt add any length, but if all else fails, I have a go to for my cosplay. Tomorrow I'll have to test this out. Thank you!
Did this at the last moment when latex failed me, and it was a great backup! I made some improvements with additional tape connecting into the ear a tiny bit, a couple layers of stuff I put on it to make it more matte and skin-looking, and have some ideas for future stuff as well. One of them did fall out a bit after a few hours but it's no big deal. I had a lot of fun and people complemented me a lot on my costume!
Whoa this is super easy! I'm doing a Zelda cosplay, and you are right about elf ears (that look real) being really expensive. Plus the materials to make them are expensive. This really saves money. Thanks for the trick!
tyler hensley most latex ears are the wrong skin color so it makes more sense just to tape your than to buy five dollar ears that may or may not fit that have to be painted a different color that may or may not match your skin
No don't worry. Your ear is just a little bit of bone and jelly. For instance, women in China bend their Deere back for smaller feet but that hurts!! :D
Is it just me or do others feel so disgusted and feel like gagging when others fold their ears? Mine are much more stiff and don't bend like everyone else's. Anyway, yours looked so good afterwards!
I really like your hair color in this video, and I just wondered what hair dye you used for this hair color? ( sorry for my crappy english, I´m norwegian )
This video sparks many ideas. You don't necessarily have to use tape to get your ears pointed. As other people have said, you could use spirit gum instead of tape.
Does this have a long term effect on your ears? Like hurting after long periods of wear? Or does it change your ears shape if you do it repetitively? 'Cause if not this is engenious.
this is so great!!! i'm probably going to cosplay an elf in this d&d con in 2 weeks and this way of making elf ears is so simple and good and it looks awesome :D
This video is so old now! I appreciate all the feedback and support you guys have shown me on this video over the years! It has almost a million views which is crazy to me!

Leananshae you're so nice. :3
What we do notice is your insecurity.

No... just no

I heard the music and I actually screamed OH MY GOD ADRIAN VON ZIEGLER

Yay! Thank you! Im doing a Terezi cosplay so I was considering making her ears pointed and this helped! ♥
That's so creative and they look so real
You shouldn't put yourself down so much!:c who cares if your hair isn't died, if you can see your extensions or if your nose looks big at a certain angle haha xD I think this is a great tutorial but probably better for pictures
I HEAR ADRIAN VON ZIEGLERS MUSIC in the background!!! AHH! I love this even more
Toon link cosplay
You just saved my life!!! Thank you!
P.S: Your hair is amazing and I love the piercings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I had a feeling that was how you did your ears, Thats what ill be doing till i get my prosthetics and ill be using my prosthetics as often as possible till I get my ears modded XD
Unless you are into looking like a freak, I reccomend you just keep doing what you are doing. It's not worth it.

I'm watching this so I can maybe cosplay as a Dark Elf/Dunmerr in the future x3
Omg, this is so great for me. I have 4 different costumes I'm wearing for Halloween and I need to be able to switch between them pretty easily. Concealer makes it worse xD
Didn't expect it to be that easy. Now I can become beast titan :)
Oh snap i didn't think it was tht easy :o i wanna try this out now :D
I have a not-so-secret obsession with elves, so this is awesome! Thanks for sharing! :D

FINALLY!! A super easy one that doesn't use liquid latex! Great tutorial.
Does it hurt leaving your ear bent like that?
Only One Way To Know!
There are multiple ways to know, Karen.
I think your hair looks amazing!
Thank you so much! this helped a lot for my Ben drowned cosplay!
I can not believe how simple that was! I was totally expecting it to be a process! Thank You!!
When in doubt 2012 youtube video it out
Wow this is like a billion times easier than I thought! This is awesome! c:
*Me who has no foundation or concealer*
Same here
Wow! I am going to be Legolas for Halloween (on a tight budget) and I've been stressing over what fake ears to buy...this is great. Thanks so much for the tutorial; you've probably saved me about 15 bucks. :) Totally subscribing.
Also, your hair looks fantastic!
If only I had bigger ears... :(
Same here. Small ear problems. Smh lol.

***** I WANT POINTIER EARS! All the elves here say you're only a "true elf" if you have very pointy ears! :(
Same. I got tiny baby ears man!
Kawai Cutie same *cries* 😭😭😭😭
This is the cheapest, easiest, quickest, most natural method! It doesnt add any length, but if all else fails, I have a go to for my cosplay. Tomorrow I'll have to test this out. Thank you!
I'm gonna use this for BEN drowned
Courtney Solari oml same
Same
Same fam same
Well, it's fit for halloween xD
YOUR NOSE IS PERFECT WHATTT

Yas boi
Did this at the last moment when latex failed me, and it was a great backup! I made some improvements with additional tape connecting into the ear a tiny bit, a couple layers of stuff I put on it to make it more matte and skin-looking, and have some ideas for future stuff as well.
One of them did fall out a bit after a few hours but it's no big deal. I had a lot of fun and people complemented me a lot on my costume!
Am I the only one who found this difficult as fuck, or?
Nope I did too
+Taylor Renae Ikr it's so hard it's impossible it seems like!
+Taylor Renae Same here. My ears are shaped weird :(
its hard for me XD
I imagine me forgetting I have this in and then your ear just stays like it idk why but I imagine it
background song? pls :)
I found that backgroundmusic! Breath Of The Forest - Adrian Von Ziegler. Thank you Shazam :D
3 years late, but thank you!!
Whoa this is super easy! I'm doing a Zelda cosplay, and you are right about elf ears (that look real) being really expensive. Plus the materials to make them are expensive. This really saves money. Thanks for the trick!
You made it seem easy! :(
I know right, uhh, so hard!!
THANK YOU THANK YOU. This is one of the most helpful videos I've ever seen. Because I personally love Elves. Also, awesome choice of music.
youre really pretty lady person ^_^
OMG... I am honestly dumbfounded on how simple this is. This is amazing thank you!!!
You can get elf ears at a Halloween store for five dollars.
You can get tape for a dollar -.- Your point is?
The latex ears last forever and are much easier to work with. You have to keep buying tape and any little mistake you would have to redo it.
tyler hensley most latex ears are the wrong skin color so it makes more sense just to tape your than to buy five dollar ears that may or may not fit that have to be painted a different color that may or may not match your skin
With a price of really good spirit gum to go with it.
Not black ones..........
I’m shocked at how easy this is! Thank you! You just saved me like a ton of money!
Woulnt this be bad for youre ear?..
No don't worry. Your ear is just a little bit of bone and jelly. For instance, women in China bend their Deere back for smaller feet but that hurts!! :D
+Ghost Potato I like that you have that happy smiley at the end of that comment, like: "but that hurts!! :D" lmao
I see you everywhere.
+Ashley Shaw cuz im fameouseeeee just kiddin and i cant evan spell it its cuz i have no life..
+cuddly panda LOL
Dude, they have EVERYTHING on RUclips
My ears are to small :(
Mine are too lol I try and try and it just will not work on my freakishly tiny ears.
Oh man, I've been looking for a way to do elf ears without super glue or prosthetics! How exciting! Going to get clear tape tonight!
( sorry for my crappy english, I´m norwegian )
this is really lame...probably could tell that its tape and that would be embarrassing.
More embarrassing than wanting to have elf ears to begin with ?....FFS you people and your cos play, didn't you play enough dressing up as kids.
res1492
what's wrong with doing what makes you happy?
res1492 you shouldn't have watched the video if all you are going to do is judge.
This video sparks many ideas. You don't necessarily have to use tape to get your ears pointed. As other people have said, you could use spirit gum instead of tape.
Nope, I do it daily & people can't tell it's tape, they think I have legit elf ears.
so glad I found this video helps so much!😄😄😄
Omgggggggg this is awesome and so easy thanku for teaching me your ways *bows
FINALLY A SIMPLE ELF EAR TUTORIAL **subscribes**
Girl that’s so smart, and you’re so lovely
omg!!! I wish I had watched this before I went to the costume store!!!! SO AWESOME!
I have a question? I wanted my hair cut like this. is it a pain to deal with? do you regret getting it? thanks ilysm
This is a scene culture time capsule like holy shit
Adrian von Ziegler, really good choice 👍 (beautiful diy too!)
Does this have a long term effect on your ears? Like hurting after long periods of wear? Or does it change your ears shape if you do it repetitively? 'Cause if not this is engenious.
I’m gonna go to school like this on Halloween
Love this video! I am going to wear elf ears on my first day of school!😁 Thanks for making the video.😊
Be prepared for the reaction.
Time for tamaki cosplay
Elf ears are literally the cutest thing ever
im surprised at how easy this is :3 you really suit it aswell! x
I'm Peter Pan in my school play this year and just realized his ears are sorta pointy! This is really helpful and easy. Thanks! You're so pretty!!
Aside from all the distracting comments about her flaws, this is awesome!
eaziest ears i found yet! only 2 mins! and dont worry about your hair, and everything, not noticeable. saved and liked the vid! ty!
Will this work with face paint? Because I’m doing a cosplay, and I need to mix face paint and add a few layers, will this work with it?
Holy moly your tutorial is better than the latex lady. Thank you!!!
You are absolutely brilliant, how has no one thought of that before!
this is so great!!! i'm probably going to cosplay an elf in this d&d con in 2 weeks and this way of making elf ears is so simple and good and it looks awesome :D
Thank you! Sometime I wanna rock out the altmer look.
This is insane! Thank you for this, I'm a huge fan of fantasy-realm type things. You're very beautiful btw
The best elf-ears tutorial on youtube what I found, I swear
This is way easier than I thought :'3 Thanks a lot, Taryn!
