I used this video in our weekly safety meeting. I had the managers spot and list the numerous safety concerns they saw while watching. Thank you for the "how not to do it" video.

Doesn't look like the workers spent anytime cutting through the silicone glue under the unit. It takes 15 minutes and makes removal much easier.

Haha that’s one way to do it. Not the way I would do it though. You just destroyed the curb the unit sits on. Now you have to have a roofer come out possibly order a new curb. Before you pick a unit you need to make sure you cut or remove everything that is holding it on the curb. Including silicone, flex connections, bolts and screws etc: If the unit isn’t coming up right away something is still connected so many people do this and it doesn’t take long to make sure it’s loose before picking it up.

Nice video you explain how to secure straps to unit. Did the new uniys match your curb or was a new one sent out to you

I would have thrown them rigging straps in the garbage along time ago. They look frayed and have cuts in them.

If osha came out bye bye to all of you. No steel toes, hard hats, or high vis. Hard hat could save your life or your foot. For the logic oh if that unit falls on you does it matter is pretty dumb logic. If that unit swing hard or drops on your foot something dumb happens it has a greater success to save your life same as a seatbelt. Good rig of the unit but poor judgement of making a safety crane video with all red flags.

Lmao safety is the number one concern... one of the non obvious thing these guys messed up was not turning the bolt on the shackles a quarter backwards after fully threading it

what is a hard hat going to do when a 1000 lb unit falls on you? just stay away from it when its in the air. ive dropped many units onto roofs and we dont wear hardhats... we do wear high visibility vests tho.

@@gregdudycz5602 be sure to call your insurance company and let them know you don't wear hard hats on crane job's.
