    Hi just watched your video on the forma boots.
    I've had a pair for 2 years and I love them. Good to walk in as well. If they ever wear out I'll be buying another pair 👍🏍😊

      Thanks for watching! For what it's worth, I just rode across the country and back (8500 miles) and did not take these with. I did a lot of walking in national parks and elsewhere and was happy I had opted to wear my Keen hiking boots instead.

    I have the Forma Lows (my first motor boot and I'm a new rider) and had a similar issue with no arch support, so I took a pair of Lunarlon insoles from an older pair of Converse skate hi-tops and replaced the stock insoles. This sugged the boot up a bit and made them a bit comfier for walking. I have a narrow foot so I had the buckles adjusted as small as I could get them, this allowed me to loosen the buckles up a bit.

    Great video. It's funny, I'm currently wearing Keens on my Multistrada and was looking for more protection on my shins and ankles. I think I'll go ahead and order a pair of Forma lows. My Keen hiking boots are the best pair of footwear I've ever owned, period.

    • @UrbanMonkTV
      @UrbanMonkTV  3 года назад

      I'm with you all the way regarding Keens. I'm ordering my third pair soon. I'll probably die wearing Keens. Best footware ever produced. As for the Formas, I'm going to be moving my gear shift lever one notch up because the extra thickness has caused me to miss a gear more than once. It's very different geometry and feel from the Keens.

    About the color of these boots I think brown and black looks nicer than black. But when you wear black riding jacket and pants, do you think brown and black goes well with it or it should be black? Please give me your opinion. Thank you.

    • @UrbanMonkTV
      @UrbanMonkTV  5 месяцев назад +1

      I'm a very practical person so I tend to put function ahead of aesthetics. Yours is a question of fashion which I do have opinions on, but my opinions run contrary to my own practical actions. I agree black is better with black and grays and brown is better with just about every other color pant imaginable.

    600 miles with my £55 RXL ankle boots, they're good but Forma Adventure offer more padding further up, got to be good for £170. It's important to know what kind of rider you are - I tractor along byways at 15mph but 90% of my riding is local country roads. I'm sure these are a wise choice.

    • @UrbanMonkTV
      @UrbanMonkTV  2 года назад +1

      I don't, bit yes they are "thicker" from the sole to the top of the toe so they require a more concerted movement of the foot to shift. I too had to focus more on it. I did get used to it. You could also adjust the lever to compensate. Thanks for watching!

      Thanks for watching. This past summer I did a coast to coast ride across America and back and did a lot of hiking/walking in national parks. I didn't take these boots on the trip. Instead I opted to wear my Keen hiking boots and I must say I was happy I made that choice. Granted, if I had taken a spill on the bike, the Keens wouldn't have offered as much protection, but they were wonderful to hike in. One can walk a short distance (several blocks or so) and be comfortable, but if you will walk for miles, as I did, I would not recommend them. Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip! Sounds amazing.

    Love, love, love my Forma Adventure Low. Incredibly comfortable day after day. Easy to walk in. Warm, though. You’re going to love them. I do recommend waxing them every year or two. It keeps the leather from soaking up water in the rain.
    One final thing - I ended up putting an extender on the shifter on my WeeStrom after I got the boots. Mine are a size 13 and it was a little awkward shifting.

      I totally understand your logic here. Bottom line for me is these boots are a compromise between comfort/flexibility and safety. If I'm in a rough spill I want to be wearing them, otherwise I do prefer my high-top hiking shoes.
