    Sea Tilt! The wallpaper on my left monitor is this catamaran. The other monitor is a magpie. My lottery dream is to buy a Gunboat, name her Magpie, and sail around the world.

    They are a very cool cat, just need a significant win on the lotto to get into one.

    Gunboat...the only cat manufacturer I know of that gets the helm position right. What a beast! Just flying along like she's not even trying. Thanks for sharing!

      Chris White Designs was the pioneer behind the forward cockpit. Check out his 57 and 72 designs. They're built to last for world cruising and still plenty fast.

      It is a great helm position, but like all things has it fair share of flaws as well😉

      The only boat you can wash the dishes at helm position, at 20 knots. 😄

    Is the main sail by Doyle as well? The video is rich in so many ways!

      @youngbarnacles  Год назад +1

      Yes. Doyles made all the sails for this boat.

    Thanks for sharing your GB68 experience! Can you tell us what is the way people setup the daggerboard on this kind of cat (depending on sea state, speed, angle, wind...)?

    • @youngbarnacles
      @youngbarnacles  2 года назад +3

      That is a good suggestion. Unfortunately there is no one answer as it is totally dependant on all the things you mention above. However I will see if I can explain what too look out for with how the boat is reacting, sea states to watch out for etc etc......

      Unfortunately it was only a quick trip this time around. When we were there last year with our cat we wanted to see more of the Etang's. Such a cool area, if we are that way again we will come look you up for sure!

    Your video is so shaky it’s really unwatchable. Consider getting a gimbal.
