    Laidlaw’s H-D dealer is my home dealer. We (as family) purchased 4 bikes over the years and I recently ordered new 2020 Electra Glide. All employees treat customers with respect (include parts/service dept) every time. I highly recommend to all my fellow riders. Safe ride 👍🏼

    Not only is this a great touring bike but also a great in-town bike. You get the best of both worlds. Gold Wing may be a great touring bike (I rode one around the country) but bulky in the city. I've heard Wing owners say the same thing. RG is a very nimble ride and can out turn the Wing hands down. Matt, you said the RG Limited is for the long distance rider, yes, but it also works great for the grocery shopper. I am a recovering Gold Wing rider...had two of 'em.

    I know this old news, but as someone who went from an FLHT (Electra Glide Std) to a 2020 RGL, my ONLY complaint is that I’d really like to ditch the lowers during the warm months. BUT it’s my daily driver all year in Virginia and from October-March, I’m thankful to have the lowers 😅

    Test rode a 2020 Road Glide Limited today. I really liked it. Told dealer I’d like to get one next year. Less than pleasant day but good test. We had 31mph sustained winds. This bike handled it perfectly.

    I went from the '16 Rushmore Road Glide Ultra to a '18 Road Glide Special because of the lowers. I wanted more air flow across my legs and the ability to add and remove lowers based on the season is important to me. The bonus was getting the blacked out bike. I run it in stock trim during the hotter months and turn it into an "ultra" for the cooler months. I got a king tour pack, but wish I had gotten a chopped tour pack since I only ride solo.

      Don't know how the power difference feels from stock but the 2019 fltrxs/SE1 that I have has plenty of power. Stop and go is great.

    I think when I turn 55-60yrs old I will get one of these, I’m 41 and ride a Street Bob but I want to trade it in on either a Street or Road Glide Special and slap a Stage 2 on it right away. I can’t take my current Street Bob on long trips and that’s what I really want to do and ride across the country to see our beautiful country. I will soon get my dream bike and start checking those bucket list rides and trips off.
    Keep up the great work fellas, the videos are awesome! 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼

      Another thing is why did they take away the CVO style light and just left them empty around the back rear tire they should off just left it completely filled in instead of the cutouts with no rear lights ?

    I am 30 Y/O, ride a 2018 RG Ultra. I have spent alot of money powder coating chrome. In 2019 I thought, i should have bought a RG special, added the suspension and tour pack. Now this 2020 Limited nails it. Basicall exactly what I wish they would have offered in 2018. I would trade mine in if Household 6 agreed. Good video guys.

    My first Harley was a 2001 RoadGlide I bought in 2013 and in 2015 I “upgraded” to a 2015 Ultra Limited. Both are great but a Limited treatment to either machine is so chock full of creature comforts, storage and long-distance capability it’s a must for anyone who rides 500 miles at a stretch. Just rode my Limited to Sturgis from So. Cal and back and it was a breeze. That they added all the Limited equipment to a RoadGlide is seriously compelling. I’ve always wanted my RoadGlide back and having all the features of my Limited on the Roadie is a slam-dunk in my opinion.
    Super thorough review of the bike Matt. Top-shelf, like always. Thanks again.

    Fantastic review! Very rider centric and what I don't get from other reviews. RG special is exactly what I almost bought in 2019. I was going to buy the RG Special but didn't pull the trigger because of all the things you mentioned here. I almost bought an Indian because of this but now the RG Limited blacked out is just an absolute game changer for me. Will purchase one 100% sometime this spring. Bravo HD

    As usual, great video thanks. I have an '18 Road Glide Ultra and continue to be really pleased I got it. From the beginning, I was torn between a Special and the Ultra. My solution was to put a 9'' Klock Werks screen on it, Standard seat, and a quick disconnect kit for the tour pak, 4.5" Street Cannons with Defiance end caps and Speedform 4'' bag extensions. It is close to a Special for the street but I have the water cooled heads, all the touring equipment that goes back on in 15 min and it's less expensive than trying to put the long distance touring stuff on a Special. Just perfect. Plus will soon get a Klock Werks 12" Pro Touring for longer rides - best screens. Hips do throw the air out around you, flair sends it above and they are lower than other screens.

    Hi Matt, thank for taking time to make these videos. I have an 02 Ultra Classic looking to upgrade to the Road Glide Limited. I live and ride here in the Midwest. The touring bikes are great for weekend rides and commuting. Weekend rides here are 100 miles on the short end to 650 on a two night trip. Riding position is also key for comfort, especially old guys with knee issues. ;) Keep up the great work!

    It's funny you stated at the start of the video about how transparent your pricing is compared to other dealers. So I did a search here in Southern Massachusetts and everything you said is dead on! When I'm ready to graduate to a touring bike, I'll buy from you and pay shipping and still save! Love your channel!

    Just started noticing certain dealers wont list their prices online. My local actually gave me a printed pricelist! I was amazed. Vid quality nice too- glad to see some light/bounce in the shadows now. Had a great time earlie this month in Cali on a 107 Heritage rental, wish i had time to swing by. Pretty smitten with it. You guys are all lucky with being able to lanesplit- not used to the respect ya'll get - cars moving over and don't try to squeeze you out!! Will have to try the roadglide- Harley seems to want to get us ladies on it lol. thanks for the vids again- JJ

    *** How many out there had to get a bike with a seat for the ladies and they only rode it once or twice, HIT THAT LIKE BUTTON. LOL!!! After demo riding all the 2019 & 2020 Harley & Indian models with the exception of the trikes, in my opinion, this is the best riding model that is made. If you are wanting the best ride for long distance, 1 & 2 up comfort and will perform well in the curvy roads then this is the motorcycle to get. I wasn't too crazy about it until I rode it so I encourage to go test ride and especially if you are looking at Road Glide Special. Like Matt & Andrew said in their comments, you can always get a detachable touring pack mount added, get a slim seat to switch out, get a lower windshield for around town. This will probably be my next bike. I hope to get it from Laidlaw's, fly in to LA, pick up the bike and ride it across country to back home. Sick of playing games with dealerships when it comes to buying a motorcycle.

    Great video. On my 2017 Road Glide Ultra I bought it with the quick disconnect for the Tour Pack that being said 20,000 miles later never took it off,it comes in handy. I wish they would design it that you sat lower than on top of it. Have not run the numbers but someone from the East Coast could fly out to Laidlaws buy the bike and drive home and still save money 💰

    Great review as usual Matt. I've been shopping for a month going back and forth on three different options. After watching this review, I've decided on the RG limited in blacked out Red and Black. I've always been a chrome guy but that combo just looks to dang good. However, I'm going to change the pipes to chrome Reinhearts and heat shields. I think it will look even better with a touch of chrome.

    Gorgeous bike. I’m hoping Harley ditches the CVO trike in favor of a CVORG Limited in the next cpl years. I’d definitely move from my CVO Street Glide up to this if they do a CVO.
    That said, I don’t understand the deletion of the heel shifter on these bigger bikes. I love my heel shifter, maybe I’m old school. Lol. I’d definitely have to re-add the heel shift. Other than that, love it. 👍🏼

      percebu2 no doubt. That’s great that their dealer does that. I’m from the east coast, so hopefully my dealer (Sheldon’s in Massachusetts,) will be willing to do the same. It’s not a dealbreaker, just an odd cost saving move by the company.

  • @Hogdriver88

    The black on black looks really good, but I wonder how the finish of the blacked out trim will hold up over time. We know what happens to those lacquered sliders.
    As for wind and stability, the heavy Harley has it. I have a '19 Gold Wing Tour as well as a '15 Limited. When meeting an opposite direction, big square tractor trailer on a 2 lane, the Gold Wing will come dangerously close to getting blown off the road, where the Limited is rock solid and doesn't flinch. Harley has the edge on storage too. I would trade both of my bikes for a new '20 Road Glide Limited in a second.

      For me it's axle nut covers - to me they complete the bike but it's something they leave off (unless you get a CVO)... but I guess the MoCo likes to leave it up to us to accessorize as we want.

    Can you take the tour pack off these and ride around without it? Is it aesthetically pleasing

      You can in fact remove it but it does require that you have the quick release kit installed. At which point the whole thing becomes detachable.

    Matt, your video leads me to ask which H-D you would recommend for someone who does day trips (300 miles), commutes to work, and short rides around home. Love riding in the twisties and back roads.

    • @jonnycando
      @jonnycando 5 лет назад

      Thomas Lenzmeier if I may suggest the big bikes as seen here but also the softail heritage might suit...Matt of course will know best....I do twisties in a big bike....not fast but no scraping unless I really lean in!

      @thomaslenzmeier183 5 лет назад

      John Garrison , thanks! I was looking at the Heritage. Didn’t know about either the Fat Bob or the Street Bob or the new Low Rider

    • @jonnycando
      @jonnycando 5 лет назад

      Thomas Lenzmeier I think the big bikes handle surprisingly well and softails should as well...anything with fat tires is gonna be harder to lean in with but if you like the feeling of pushing the bike you will get used to it...I also have a Suzuki Intruder 1400 which is rakish and requires deliberate efforts to steer and I do like it personally but my FLTCU falls right into turns which I also appreciate. Both hold the line you pick and will happily change course if you must without drama.

    Not really wanting a full dresser right now and I like the black out look, but that Tahitian Teal with chrome is a beautiful bike. How much heat does the lower fairings put off with the cooling mounted in them?

  • @AmericanPatriot-cw9xe
    @AmericanPatriot-cw9xe 3 года назад

    I have a question about those radiators on the leg fairing, if you get a leak in a hose the motor wont really over heat on you will it? since before they didn't with no radiator n water cooling is why I ask this. Also if you get a coolant leak while riding how much coolant does it hold? and are we at risk of being scalded with a leak?, i know thats a very small risk compared to all other riding risks, im just curious, I'm sure im not the only one to wonder these things

    Just purchased a new 2020 Road Glide Limited and love it. I noticed the fairing is crooked (kick to the right). Do you know if it can be straightened?

    Matt, maybe you can shed some light on my question. Why has HD not offered a power windshield on their touring bikes? Having collectively put 250,000 miles on 3 touring motorcycles (2 Visions and an Indian Roadmaster) with power windshields in 7 years. I don't own a car so my bike is my work car 5-6 days a week (60 mile round trip commute), 12 months a year and my wife and I travel exclusively on the bike for recreation. I go out west every year (from Alabama) and just returned in August from a 12 day 7,250 miles trip out west so I can attest that in that amount of miles, I encounter all forms of weather multiple times and the power windshield is an amazing and super useful feature.
    I was all set to buy an Ultra Limited Low in 2017 or the Roadmaster. I was even willing to give up the power windshield feature of the Indian but ....
    1. My local HD dealer was not hungry meaning they did not want to deal or offer a good trade in allowance .
    2. The low does not come standard with heated grips, the ride of the low was extremely harsh compared to the Roadmaster. (I'm 5'6" and the standard height models or just slightly too tall, The roadmaster has a lower seat height and plush ride)
    3. The remote locking bags and heated grips and heated seat (and power windshield) are standard equipment on the Roadmaster.
    THe M8 equipped Low did have great power and sound right out of the box!, it did handle well and the stereo was very good.

    I'm for the blacked out trim as I have a 2018 Street Glide Special Anniversary Edition blacked out and I just wonder why Harley couldn't have put a blacked out shifter rod on it also instead of me having to buy one. Oh, thats right Harley Tax.

    Love my 19 RGU, and with the full SE exhaust and Stage 2 kit the bike performs fantastic. Here is the problem that I'm having is dealing with the passenger and balance of the top heavy feeling from the bike. This is like my 5th or 6th RG and till now never bothered me (and yes same passenger and weight). Is it a thing when getting older? I'm 62 and Love my bike but am now considering a change.......Suggestions??? I actually looked at a Tri Glide. Not sure? Thanks

    Can you add the stretched bags from the Special to the RG Limited? Also can you get a tinted tall windscreen Or just order aftermarket?

    Thanks for your awesome videos, Wow they are great. I bought a 2020 RGL a few weeks ago and I beyond love it. I know I am a minority but did notice that in the video “guys” are always referenced but there are some of us ladies that love our touring bikes especially as an Iton Butt certified long distance rider. Thanks for all the great information!!!

    Torque at the rear wheel is ALWAYS gear dependent. First gear, lots of torque little speed. Six gear, little torque lots of speed. When you're sitting still, you need lots of torque to move the mass. Once it gets going, the inertia will keep you going so you need much less torque and can drive at much higher speeds. Power will always provide some combo of wheel speed and torque. 10 power units can provide 10 torques and 1 rpm or 5 torques and 2 rpm or 2 torques and 5 rpm or 1 torque and 10 rpm or any other combo that equal the 10 power units. You make that selection with your gear lever. Sorry about the lecture, but getting RUclips to understand this concept before I die is my life's ambition. Well, that and getting TV pundits to stop using words and phrases incorrectly.
    That Tahitian Teal makes me want to take a vacation. Gorgeous!
    My two recommendation for future RDRS.
    a) Do an auto blipper instead of whatever it's doing now to prevent wheel lock on downshifts.
    b) Provide a switch to de-link the brakes. When I want to use the rear brake, I don't want it engaging the front. I'm good with the front lever engaging the rear brakes though.

    I’m true to my Chrome Matt...I can’t understand that Harley-Davidson would charge you extra for black powder coat? Chrome I can understand as it’s an expensive process..
    I’m waiting for the Livewire review!

      Dont hold your breath for that livewire review, they've already halted production.

    • @jonnycando
      @jonnycando 5 лет назад

      The halt was for a production problem, they will restart presently.....that said it is very much a niche item. If I needed something to barnstorm around town I could consider it....but I also think the xg750a is better suited for that purpose not to mention less than half the cost....but I will keep riding my heavy tourer since it’s paid for!

    • @jonnycando
      @jonnycando 5 лет назад

      Paul Healey they say there is no recall needed....and they restarted today...didn’t say what the issue was than quality related. Perhaps some smudged paint where no one ever looks......

    I prefer chrome myself. I purchased a new at the time, 2014 CVO Road King. It came blacked out, no chrome models that year. I just think chrome makes the color of the bike pop out more than if it was murdered out.......just my opinion.
