  • Linda and Carl Peterson wanted an intrinsic house and garden bond when they built their energy efficient home, serene outdoor living courtyard, and patio gardens. To conserve water in their new landscape, Linda paired drought-tough structural evergreens with softer perennials that attract pollinators. With plants and clever design, she engaged privacy from close-up neighbors.

Very beautiful and serene. The softness of some of the plants really does compliment the hardness of the walls and architecture. Very well done. And she seems awesome.

I love how they built the fence with a hole for the tree limb 🌳:), I would never think of using green especially sea foam green outside but it's very attractive and because it's a softer green all the natrual greens pop.

Linda, your home is exactly the style I luv. Everything that was incorporated is perfecto, from the design concept to the construct. Enjoy, and thank you for allowing me to view your beautiful home. I'm sure your interior is just as beautiful!!!

I absolutely love it! I remember when that extra lot was just a platform around the trees! It is gorgeous and is definitely all of your personalities! I would love to see the rest of your property! The pool and the aviaries!

I love the openings in the block walls to allow the tree branches to remain. I also love her inspiration to just start doing the gardening. ❤

Wow, this is gorgeous! Finding landscape options that use less water is vital for our future. Linda is a forward thinker (this video is 7 years old). She proves that you can have a beautiful landscape without wasting water.

This is an amazing garden I love it. We need to learn to build around trees. I never understand the point of taking them down to put up a structure.

    Where is the color though?
I love the meandering curved paths, the stones, the trees, the cacti, the succulents and other plants, the rusty decor, the fireplace, and courtyard, but if I had no colorful flowers
If happy bright colors, I would get sad living there. That is amazing work and design but the lack of color makes it a bit too grim for me. The green on the walls etc. is also somewhat grim. Maybe its color doesn't come through well via the Internet.
But good work on your garden! Love that you made it to your tastes. It has to make YOU happy--that's the important thing! ❤

There is a lot of color--but it's very seasonal and we were there in between heavy bloom periods. The foliar structure makes it interesting and peaceful even out of bloom.
