I wasnt even aware of the pillar of fire spam, seemingly the main reason for the sisters 'nerf', because i never chose it- it just seemed weird for wood elves to be chucking fire around! Theyre still a good unit, points for points- lovely models, poison, mobile, can take a bit more damage than a singer
@MalignMusings it's just an odd way to have dealt with it, especially as they are so similar in rules to doomfire warlocks who have the cursed coven ability but can still choose (though they don't have access to battle magic, which maybe just goes to show it's the spell that was the issue, not the unit)
I won an early online tournament with Wood Elf Pillar of Fire spam. I can see why you would nerf it as it promotes quite a miserable "keep away" playstyle. However so does quite a lot else that is very good in any faction, but "keep away" *does* fit the Wood Elf army theme quite well, so there you go. I would have preferred making Sisters 0-1 per 1000 points and/or removing the poison attacks from their steeds (the similar Doomfire Warlocks already had that steed nerf months ago). Note: Doomfire Warlocks are 0-1 per 1000 whereas currently Sisters are unrestricted.
The sister nerf was for the sake of the game not because it was overpowered, I’ve only ever had one game of warhammer that I just wanted to be over because it wasn’t fun and it was when 5 pillars of fire were on the board that I can’t dispel because they’re on the back edge of the board
@ it was in just a casual game with someone I met through discord and yeah he just skirmished around and sat in the back and my lizards just couldn’t get away from all of the rings of fire
"Clarifying" that multiple Caskets don't stack, and entirely-axing the mortuary cult "sacrifice wounds for +s to cast" would do wonders to bring TK in line. Peg knights would be miles better if they lost Skirmish - force them into a lance to take away their 360 arc, which is IMO the biggest single issue with them, and then see how it goes. The Khemri guys with spears shouldn't even be on this tier list since they're technically heavy cavalry .
The wierd thing is that cults done even need the additional casting bonuses to be good. I agree on all points except the TK cavalry. They are clearly light cav pretending to be heavy.

I still feel they're one of the best units in the book

That sounds nasty. If it's at a tournament mind then that list won't beat all comers, and if it's a friendly well, who needs enemies...

I play Dark Elves, I love Dark Riders
I hate to disagree however I think you love light cavalry...
@@MalignMusings Yup, I think if you have a Lvl 4 on a Dark Steed protected by Dark Riders it goes a long way to screen being annoying
Nerfing sisters of the thorn seems strange, the faction was not performing that well.
Exactly my point
Exactly!!!
Bruh they were horrendously toxic and wood elves are already the worst and least enjoyable to face. 🤦
