The reaper was so unthreatening the enemy tank swapped INTO a monke and was never punished for it
The number of times I've played Winston and somebody swapped Reaper as a "counter" and then I never even saw them for the rest of the game is crazy, people don't realise Bastion is the real counter.

Something like DVA/sigma nullifies the bastion but you can just run away and come back later

Mercies should support their teams, no doubt, but that Mercy was healbotting the Reaper. She could've boosted damage a little more.

this player would REALLY benefit from going into the practice range and seeing just how short their effective range as reaper is. most of the time they're doing approximately two damage because they're so far away. they're also SO afraid to go in and be away from their team. easy confidence: (1) knowing where all the health packs are, and (2) saving shift to get out and get back to your team
re: what rank they deserve: the fact of the matter is that a player with a gold skill level would be slaughtering these lobbies. if they truly deserved to be in gold, they would get there fairly easily. but they don't deserve it. they're so timid and scared. reaper can very easily be a TERRIFYING threat to the enemy team, but this enemy team is rightfully unafraid
A good example of how unthreatening the Reaper was. The fact that they swapped INTO Winston and didn't get punished for it
First of all, Reaper's entire kit is based around flanking, so if you're not doing that, playing the off-angles, and surprising the enemy, then you're not playing him correctly. Second of all, almost every elim he got was undone by the enemy Mercy. The other DPS on his team was Junkrat, so it was Reaper's responsibility to be taking down that enemy Mercy (Junk's going to have a MUCH harder time with aerial targets). Drives me nuts when DPS focuses on tank and lets the enemy supports rez or heal everyone up and then we all end up back at spawn. Also, Reaper's Mercy ABSOLUTELY carried him.
Reaper has nit the one and only playstile. It depends on the comp and the map.
You could say that Reaper has two playstiles, frontliner as a tankbuster with an aggressive tank and flanker, but the borders are fluid.
However, this reaper did nothing really well.
Reaper also wrecks tanks so him looking at the tank most of the time is good for his play style, the other dps should focus the support, i like that this whole situation could be changed if they picked pharah at least first and second point

this mercy was doing work saving him.. but this passive dps play won't win games. hes dependent on his tank or the enemy tank being an idiot.

Its scary that he PLACED in Gold. He should either learn to use Reaper more effectively or just try a different DPS. He was behind that Reinhardt like he was a soldier or something. The dude has mobility. Teleport in, and then you FADE out. Or teleport when you are about to be cornered. Not fade into them.
It's like my friend, who is an obvious bronze player, would try to throw their teleport MID FIGHT. Like you're dead. What did you expect?
I think bronze players tend to lack self-awareness, game sense, and the ability to use the hero kits that they choose. They have an idea about what it does, but they have no clue what to do with it. My suggestion to those players is to look up guides and tips about that character from higher level players. Doesn't even have to be Masters or GM any level at least 2 levels higher than you and see how they use their kits.
Also, the best tip that has ever been given to me back in the day was "Your team is not ALWAYS the problem. Instead, look at what you could've done better and try to become a better player yourself. " This was back in OW1 days when comp points were based on individual performance, whether it be a win or a lose you and your teammates would receive or be deducted a different amount of points. I'm not too familiar with how it works on OW2, but if it is similar. Then, even with your wins or losses, it still falls on how YOU played.
Also, one last tip to bronze or even Silver players, don't just main one character. Meta changes, and sometimes the enemy may have a hard counter to your pick. Wasting time being stuck on one hero that is hindering your time more than helping is just a waste.

@@sukirinaa Placing at the beginning of a season is super easy especially if you queue up with people and are rank hungry. Like, this dude is so obsessed with rank it wouldn't surprise me if he found a group of people from silver to plat and got carried in 7-8 games before an enormous loss strak
Honestly this reaper is playing the way cass/soldier would be played, switching to those characters might better suit their playstyles. Especially cass, I only included soldier because they get an escape ability similar to fade.
Trying those characters out will really put their aim on blast and actually force them to improve. I say this specifically because they're not getting to plat if they lose every time a pharah shows up and reaper is not a great match up at all
But then they don't have their get out jail button and they'd die repeatedly.
@@MrHoldino Good, only way to start learning is to get punished more and more. So what if you suck at the start, if you're afraid from sucking you will never improve.
I'd say learn a bit in qp like 3-5 matches then jump into ranked. So what if you lose in ranked you already bronze, it's better to focus on improving than not losing

They will suck at the start, but if you are afraid of sucking you will never improve.
The switch to Cassidy would be alot better in the long-term because they are much better than reaper in the higher ranks

It's easier when you are just watching, my best advice is just to not think much of ranked. I was scared and played mostly qp but you have to take it less seriously and just focus on winning, it's fine if you get smoked a few times in the journey

Honestly it was fairly easy to get to high silver.. I thought it was going to be WAYY harder since i see so much people having trouble climbing out of bronze but no not for me personally
However higher ranks are probably harder so idrk how hard gold and other ranks are so just go for it and see how it is for you!! The best thing you can do is to not think to much about it and don't put to much pressure on yourself ^^ gl

Normally any time there is a reaper on the enemy team I call them out and tell my teammates to keep an eye on them so they don't roll us. But sometimes the reaper is just bad so I will tell my team that they only have to worry about them when they have ult. This is one of those reaper players
If the Reinhardt doesn't hold their hand they are a lost puppy mashing every button until something works or they die

I'd recommend learning to play a mid to long range hero too, in case you get maps like this one where Reaper isn't the best choice. And if you play sniper Reaper, you can easily go S76 and actually do damage too

Problem with lots of players in low rank is this I noticed ---- they just keep pressing left mouse when shooting without letting go. Tap it when enemy in your crosshair, not holding it and gamble that your reticle movement will land on the enemies. TAP, not HOLD.

Yeah no this guy is at best high bronze. Hes eager with his ult (not too bad but in this case yeah) but doesn't really check his range on anything. If he learns his range I think he'll become better.
High bronze is a stretch.. He's playing Reaper and is literally scared of fighting BRONZE squishies.. I'd say Bronze 4 at best but below Bronze 3 rng decides pretty much everything so it's a toss.
Ima be real, i think the reaper was expecting to get both suports on top of the saloon which would have been great if they were both there on top but unfortunately mercy was off to the side safe.

i barely play the game and am somehow gold, if he was in my lobby i think i would just farm him tbh. He def deservers bronze
if you don't play the game much, then of course you get ranked in gold. that's where people get placed initially. if you played more, your rank would probably change.

@@sethescope Yes it's mostly people got placed, stop playing once they get placed and be like yep I am gold. People literally get placed in GM1 in this game after 5 wins and 4 losses, so placements are so inflated

no. however, I have seen vods where I do think people deserve a higher rank, sometimes a significantly higher rank. it's just never the ones who claim they deserve better lol

Reaper is a tough hero to watch in bronze. Dude freaks out when someone in his face, when hes literally a top close range character. He lost a kiriko 1v1 at the beginning of the defense round.... Yikes....
Also cant win a 1v1 versus ashe a couple times including the last minute.... Its a sniper and ur 2 feet away. Its a free insta kill.
I don’t get how some people are one tricks but still can’t get super good, like I maimed Orisa first 2 days of playing and now I clap with her anytime I play her, but I am trying to learn how to play every hero on every role so I ain’t the best on alot

Okay no but legitimately, I think we need a tier that is below Bronze. Like, idk, Copper.. or Plastic even. Because this guy who thinks he can roll in Gold, has:
1. Really bad aim
2. Really bad positioning
3. Really bad target priority
4. Really bad awareness
5. Really bad game sense and tactical thinking

Well if ur reaper isn’t as good as ur widow and junk, then I probably wouldn’t brag about how good ur aim is on ur reaper, u gotta try to get ur sim up on reaper. Before u do that. Also advice for reaper is save ur ammo for players a little closer instead of chipping 3 or 4 pellets from 5 meters back unless that character is super super low. And Ik u wanna flank but if h flank in ur gonna need a way out when h get low so try to always have at least one cool down unless both cool downs will absolutely get u out of a bad situation to stay alive. Ur ults are pretty good but I’d say it’s better to get one person than to try to use it and get a big play so u don’t accidentally hit No one because of how predictable reapers ults are
Reaper is not a sniper (You deal more dmg sniping as dva), stop mashing jump every second, take .5s to aim and hit shots instead of flailing around, PRESSURE the supports you're a reaper and they have kiriko mercy (You dive onto them they are forced to relocate to a teammate and further into the fight), stop teleporting 2 feet, if nobody is shooting you and your supports are healing you don't waste wraith (Why are you using wraith with 500 hp and beat???)
My guy sends in a poor vod for advice and then when given advice he doesn't take it
anyone that plays long ranged reaper and expects any damage deserves bronze

As a Reaper main in high gold He can get there, BUT, his aim and ability usage needs to improve big time, and probably the most important don't use Wraith to go in use Shadow Step for that, use Wraith for escape or to secure a elim if It would turn out beneficial
They play like a bronze player and would need a lot of help to climb, it's way more than aim and ability usage. They don't play the game until the enemy tank is running into their team.

as a support main who's played one game of reaper, i'm fairly certain that:
1. I am probably a better reaper
2. i would not be scared of this reaper
One piece of advice as playing Reaper that always stuck with me is that Reaper is a pouncer and with that, the best people to pounce are the healers (in my opinion) because with the healers out or at least one less team fight can be won more easily, and sometimes some team members look back to save the healer. But is not necessarily only healers, of course, it is important to know which fight to pick and quickly get out but in the fight you pick must be certain you will win or at least be a bother to the team for them to keep turning around.
They're supports. Reaper has multiple playstyles, you can play frontline shooting the tank, which is viable because he obviously does very well against tanks. Sometimes you don't want to dive supports every time because you'll get predictable

Torb and mei were my main stay picks when I just started, then I found out about vaxta and practiced my aim till I started feeling comfortable with aim-intensive heroes. For example I tried sojourn in S1 and damn was I hot trash and then I tried mei and it was a world of difference. Now my sojourn is really fun and rewarding.
Try out "Vaxta" challenge mode yourself for 10mins a day and I think you will improve alot

Guy could literally just go Cassidy and get 3x the value without changing his playstyle at all.. idk why he's stuck playing Reaper when he refuses to do anything except shoot from 30m distance or be literally on their face jumping around like Lucio.

Maybe he placed with something that wasn’t reaper, because that is bronze reaper gameplay. He can’t even chase squishies down to kill them, and the only way to get value on reaper is if you have good shot placement. You shouldn’t have to chase kills as Reaper, much less spend ten seconds in a 1v1 with them. Or Jay3’s chat is just full of bots, which, well.. yk.
TPing in to their team at half health anywhere above Bronze will not work. There were too many times in this game when you should have died but didn't because the enemy weren't good enough to punish mistakes and late decisions. My honest opinion is if you can't get out of Bronze, you can't claim to be better than Bronze. Solo queue means nothing this low and everyone has leavers (yes, even the the enemy team) in fact if you're not the one leaving, it's more likely the leaver isn't on your team in any given game.
For practice this Reaper should try to play a game without using fade or teleport to improve his positioning. By playing with out fade or teleport they would need to have good positioning to get good value. To add to this when they do start using fade and teleport again it should amplify his positioning by allowing him to be more aggressive or get out safely.

On a less meme note though if someone falls from Gold 4 to Bronze 2 I have to know what makes them think they should be out of Bronze? When they were higher it seems pretty apparent that they couldn't keep up hence why they drop so much SR. It's like most people assume their peak is where they belong, not when they presumably played much better than they usually do.

Split the difference, call him a mid- to low-Silver player. But this guy would be eaten alive in Platinum.
....As a Reaper main since OW1 season 1, this gameplay really hurt my eyes. Don't get me wrong, I'm not amazing, I'm high silver/low gold with a high of low plat, but this reaper isn't better than me, in fact quite the opposite. The constant looking towards the ground, the turning around to run back to teammates when they can wraith and move backwards with enough map knowledge, and just their aim. And for gods sake stop bunny hopping. All your doing is making it more difficult to line up your shots. Strafing is much better.
One little trick you learn is that Reins shield only blocks shots 1/2 foot in front of him. But if you press in as a Reaper directly on to his hitbox and the Rein doesn't immediately start swinging at you, then its free damage. A Reins hammer will 3 shot a bad reaper player. Coupled with his Fire Strike, the Reaper would be dead instantly. He can't recover health fast enough.
Silver at most, hes sniping with reaper 🤷🏻 after the rein slam he walked away instead of destroying them. I dont think i have seen a reaper do so little before. 11:00 😂😂😂

if you are hardstuck anything, play rein on tank, bastion on dps, brig on support. those are the most efficient easiest characters to play in their perspective category.
I have been hardstuck bronze 3 support but after switching to brig, I have had a 78% winstreak and now in gold with no signs of stopping. Trust me, just search up a couple videos based on the said hero i mentioned, practice mechanics for 10-15 min before comp and just get in there.

He used his cooldowns completely wrong half the time. Who chases someone in the middle of a team fight with wraith form? Who tp's to right in front of other players? I'm surprised they were ever gold with the positioning they have, not that gold is known for good positioning but I figured they would've been better than bronze

edit: Alright, finished watching, this guy is AT BEST Silver. Crosshair placement, cooldown usage, POSITIONING, are all off. I will say it looks like he did a good job not dying in this game. Give him slightly more competent enemies, and this would not be the case. He needs to play in Reaper's effective range and get comfortable with doing so while in Bronze, because this gameplay would not work in higher ranks. Trade that enemy Mercy for an Ana, even, and he would have done a lot worse with how he uses his cooldowns. This guy seems really easy to Sleep Dart.

i'm 2 minutes in and i can confidently say that bronze is too high of a rank for this guy. this is rusted out iron level of play. as why he was gold, OW rankings were broken in the first 2 seasons of the game. there were top500 players who placed bronze and bronze who placed diamond. by season 4 everyone who actually played the game was at the rank they are supposed to be
Need to practice ur tracking and one thing is stop freaking jumping all the time while shooting or adleast ajust the aim while doing so... so many death would been avoided if you just stop jumping and focus on tracking 😂

Apart from his terrible aim, positioning, lack of understanding on how reaper works and odd goldfish memory where he's attacking someone then just forgets they exist so he can shoot someone else with more HP he also spends a lot of time staring at the ground.
Good for Bronze, not Gold though, solid Silver./ Your risk averse playstyle means you dont die needlessly, but you certainly aren't a play maker either.
