If you haven't played through the full game already, I would definitely recommend it. It's usually either a hit or miss with people though (assuming you're a fan of RPG games).
This battle was so hard for me when I was a kid. I wrote in my review of this game that if you don't have the Lion Heart finishing move, you don't stand a chance.
I'm not sure if anyone here has ever encountered this but during the final form of Ultimecia, you can trigger an end to the fight where Ultimecia's blood explodes all over the place and even gets on the characters for that slow mo transition. My brother only ever managed to make it happen once and I don't ever see it being talked about in threads or forums or anywhere. We don't know how to trigger it so if anyone can help, it'd be appreciated.

@chady cake if you played it before you will know in the final battle you can't select your characters. You have to battle her with randomly selected characters until she kills off the random character and bring out the character you want to use.
because physical attacks in ff8 are strong and damage magic is useless? damn, that's the real 1 thing i hate about ff8, a damn thundaga who do 300 damage

Once her final form starts talking, you just need to hit her to scroll through the dialogue to finish the fight
