- Clemson visited Syracuse in week 3 of the 2019 college football season. This was a highly anticipated matchup, but it didn't really live up to the hype, as it was a one sided game. Regardless of the outcome, I edited down the game into a condensed form.

I have not been a Clemson fan, but when I saw the Coach Sweeny come up to congratulate Meullisi for the touchdown, I may have become one. I think the rest of the season will be warm ups for the national championship game.

Is it me or Trevor throws a lot of jump balls I looked at the championship game last year n a lot of the throws were up for grabs lucky that Clemson has tall receivers it's concerning

Watch all of his throws. He’s not anything special. I’ve been telling people this all year but they never listened to me.

All you Trevor Lawrence haters remember the dude is 19 and he takes shots down the field like no other qb in college football. He threw for nearly 400 yards this game but you focus on the two picks which did not result in any points for Syracuse because Clemson has the best defense in the country. Stop hating and enjoy the dynasty.

To me,you couldn't go wrong with him or Tua! Both have strengths and weaknesses! Both are surrounded by talent! Only difference we haven't seen Lawrence down in a game and bring his team back. It's just mainly games where as team Clemson dominates on both sides of the ball. So I'm waiting for that moment or when you don't have guys bailing him out with crazy catches! I think they both will be number one Qb taken in their respective drafts.
Tua has proven himself many times. Trevor has not. Trevor will be playing second string in the NFL and may not even go in the first round.

Mark Jefferson There’s many examples of QB’s like Trevor Lawrence doing good in College but flopping in the NFL. He hasn’t shown any remarkable passing skills or anything. His defense and receivers have been putting in the work. Tua is the true definition of a QB. Not Trevor. Remember this comment.

Da Fresh Prince Stole Meh Bitch Trevor has great mechanics he just forces a lot of passes. He needs to learn how to be more patient. Tua is more experienced and doesn’t make those errors. I still like Trevor Lawrence as a NFL prospect but people need to calm down he still has a lot of work to do.
Jack Thebox210 Tua as a Sophomore was doing way better than Trevor Lawrence his first three games of the season. Trevor has good mechanics yes, but his accuracy, decision making, throw on the run, and much more needs work. I don’t see him going in the First Round of the NFL Draft but he can improve. However, he’s doing dumpster garbage so far this season. There’s no way he’s in the Heisman race.

1st game against Georgia Tech he ran the ball because their defense sucked. 2nd game against Argues he passed the ball a lot against a little better defense to the same running backs from the 1st game. 3rd game he switches up to new receivers with the passing game. Credit to Syracuse, their defense looked better than the Argues.😊
No doubt Trevor Lawrence is supremely talented, but he also has a lot to work on for sure but hey he is only a sophomore so I have no doubt that he will continue to improve and get better over his college career

A pleasant surprise for Clemson has been their defense, especially against Syracuse. we already knew Clemson would be loaded on offense at the skill positions to go along with the best quarterback at the college level. Expect Clemson to run the table and head into the playoffs firing on all cylinders!

All honesty, Lawrence has looked okay, not exceptional like every analyst insists that he is. Last year was last year, their D last year was amazing. With his Wides he is lucky they are elite, with any others im not so sure they can just get away with that sloppy play and 50/50 balls. Tua is the same way though. A talented secondary is gonna expose him, actually an elite D-Line with a decent spy on Lawrence along with an opportunistic secondary and they will lose.

The play Trevor is putting forth is not on him, when we call pass 6 times in a row and 5 of those we have every receiver running straight down field? He cant be successful that way, our coaches have to do better by giving the kid a chance at being successful, almost every QB in D1 can just throw up 50/50 balls with our receivers, give the kid some actual schemes and routes to where he reads the safetys and LBs , alow him to roll out the pocket and get his recievers to run parallel routes and this kid will dominate . The fact hes still being successful as far as numbers go and almost all are 50 50 balls ? Says alot about our recievers and helluva alot about our Coordinators. I'm telling you now, we have ONE real deal coach at Clemson and he coaches the Defense, Dabo is a facilitator and the OCs are horrendous . Talent makes ya successful and makes ya look good

Watch the routes his recievers run, The Coordinators have em all running straight down field without creating any seperation from a route ,you take away the greatest weapon and that's the talent we have at reciever by allowing the corner to just run beside the Receiver and it creates 50 50 balls consistently, these recievers are elite therefore will create 3 to 4 yards of space if you allow them to run an actual route. We rarley run slants, curls or bang 8s , we never utilize the TE over the middle or drag route , we refuse to establish the run , how can this kid be successful when his success rate is completely based on 50 50 balls ? That's not where this kid shines. He strengths are throwing on the run or rolling out the pocket with his recievers running parallel, actually reading a defense not just seeing who's In man and who's in zone and throwing a 50 50 ball to weak side of the field.

I want everyone of you to go and watch the game again on offense. When your coordinators scheme with our receivers run 80 % go routes or posts ? You equal the talent for the defense, a corner merely has to run with you , when their's absolutely no route to run , only run downfield ? It makes your QB have to be perfect in throwing the deep ball and it takes the advantage away from the offensive player. The past 3 years I've raised hell trying to show how vanilla our offense was/is , we merely have more talent than ANYONE. When we have to score , we come out and we run drag routes , hybrid bang 8s , curls , skinny fades etc.. and we roll Trevor out of the pocket to allow parallel passing routes which take reading the Defense off the Qbs shoulders, it simplifies it for him. When we do that we methodically break the defense down . We refuse to establish the run, we basically tell the QB and Receivers "just run straight down field and make a play" . Man that's backyard football.
