  • Polaris takes working UTVs to another level
It's not the sexiest machine in the Polaris lineup, but the 2013 Ranger XP 900 might just be the best working UTV we've ever tested.

My lifestyle doesn't require this at all but after a ride on my friend's side by side i'm trying my hardest to find a reason to need one.

The Ranger XP has been around for a long time and we'd be stunned if it wasn't part of the Polaris family for years to come. The John Deere Gator XUV lineup may also be worth exploring for you if hauling/towing are major concerns. Arctic Cat also makes a Prowler that converts to a flat bed for the last few years. May be able to find a good deal on one of those.

I’m getting a red 2013 Polaris Ranger XP 900 this Sunday and I cannot wait!!! I’ve wanted one of these for YEARS!!!!!!! I couldn’t find one under $12k that had everything I wanted on it. Doors, roof, windshield, etc. Finally I came across a guy who’s selling his. It only has 160 miles on it/$9k which I don’t think is a bad price? (160 wasn’t a typo lol, the guy barely drove it!? , kept it in his garage and the things like brand new! ) He has the doors for it but doesn’t have the bolts for them. Someone gave him the doors but not bolts. Any suggestions on where to get the bolts and what kind? Obviously I’m very new to this ride 😎 thanks so much for any help.

Well, all the manufacturers don't recommend any UTV for any rider under 16. However, it's ultimately your call. I don't know of a UTV that's less than $7,800 (new) from a reputable manufacturer. You can always look at the used market. You shouldn't have any trouble finding a Yamaha Rhino 660 in good condition for that price.

Not positive about that. It's not really a top-speed kind of machine. However, I'd suspect something in the neighborhood of 45-50 mph. It's the same basic engine as the one found in the RZR XP 900, but has been tuned quite a bit differently. Expect more low-end on this one, as it can tow like crazy.

I saw a video with it doing about 57 mph with a full windscreen on.

Im no expert at ALL.. but I researched a ton before I bought mine. Depending on if you wanted 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive. 4 wheel drives are more, but this 2wheel drive is $4,999
UTV RK Performance 250 Red - 19RKPerf250G2C It’s sold at Rural King.) Not sure I’d buy that one myself, but if your just looking to drive around and not really expecting it to go in the snow, up hills etc then it might be a good one. Or the Hisun utv’s are also in your price range. Massimo Utv’s are too. Hisun and Massimo seem to be in your price range and they include a lot (hard top, windshield.) And from what I read their a decent utv for beginners. I read a good article on the Hisun models that explains all about them. Had I not found mine I would have gotten one most likely. (For the price and what I needed it for anyways.)

Well, considering that the average human body contiahs about $4.50 of resources and the utv costs around $13, 000, you would have to sell around 2890. Good luck...

Everything has a breaking point so holding that against any machine isn't exactly fair.
