      The liquorice story was interesting, because in human nutrition, liquorice is one of the nutrients that I recommend for the back, along with gelatine and goats milk.

    I agree, the dogs know what they like. My pup doesn't like any gluten free pasta, (only gave a tiny amount to try) he likes rice, he likes tuna fish, he doesn't like mackerel. He's not sure about egg, still to decide whether he likes egg or not, he's not sure about the consistency of it, might try him with some scrambled egg. He does like some carbs though, especially the crust of something to chew on e.g. the crust of buttered toast. When I am cooking, he'd like to try everything and keeps on jumping up at the cupboard next to the cooker. Teaching him to stop jumping up at the front of the cooker. He enjoys his prepared raw food, meat/bone with some veg mix. Although I think grated raw veg is going straight through him at this age of 4.5 months because I see the carrot in his poo. So I will try Conor's idea of giving him some cooked veg. I think this pup digs when he's looking for any nutrients from the soil, because he doesn't dig very often, and when he does it is with purpose. I'd be interested to know what Conor thinks about the ancient Italian breed of Lagotta, the truffles, e.g. mushrooms that they find and are sometimes allowed to eat. Conor wrote a really interesting article on garlic too and that's on his website.

      No problem. Tear stains are tough. Some say that it's not possible but I swear that I've read on social media that people have managed to do it. I'm just not sure. A friend of mine has white dogs and the tear stains decreased as she made changes to the diet.

    Thanks for this Kimberly. Your blog/videos/live feeds are always great. I started raw feeding when our pup came home from the breeder last February (she was RAW raised). It has been an eye opener. I’m still learning and haven’t jumped to DIY, but hope to some day.

    Great interview Kimberley! I've been raw feeding just since the middle of last year and have just gone to DIY. It's been interesting to hear people who aren't aware of the switch comment on how good he looks and how soft his (poodle) coat is. I do feed about 10% fruit and veg currently blanched kale and blueberry, blackberry and raspberry from frozen and I'll just change it up next batch.

      My advice on fruit is limit it because a friend of mine that was a nurse wore out her pancreas and the doctors told her she'd eaten too much fruit. I give fruit has treats to my pup, so far he's tried mango, banana, strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, I don't give him fruit has part of his main meal. If I'm eating strawberries, he gets to have strawberries, same with the mango and banana. The raspberries and blueberries are his frozen treats. Going to get some blackberries to try him on next. I've made ice cubes from chicken brine and he likes that too has a treat.

    Thanks for the interview. I was about to buy this book😂 I'm a member of lots of raw feeding groups. Did you make a video about the differences, advantages and disadvantages of barf, 80/10/10, prey? If not, it would be fantastic. Because I don't know if I go with barf or 80/10/10. If my budget is ok, of course prey is the best in my opinion. But I wanna hear all from you because we count on you and your invitees.

    How about the latest aflatoxin deaths?? Yeah, that healthy kibble just does wonders. I’m not being flip. I’m being critical. Tired of being told I’m killing my dogs when it’s dry kibble that’s been doing it.

    • @rawfeederlife
      @rawfeederlife  3 года назад

      Right??? I get so fed up with the kibble brands that warn people that raw is unhealthy as they're trying to get a recall past us AND using "raw" in their marketing to fool people. What a shady industry.

      @@thetruthtraveler5600 Who do you think supports the Dog Shows like Westminster and the AKC National Dog Show? The pet food companies. There is no way the AKC is going to support raw feeding when they are being supported by the Petfood companies. Proverbial biting the hand that feeds you.
