  • 'Everything has a strange beauty to it, if you have the right way of looking.' - Simon
Simon Max Bannister is an incredible sculptor. From splinters of invasive timber, he constructs art works of indigenous wildlife. His sculpture is speared by the ecological crisis, with a knowledge that species and habitats are threatened by man’s insatiable fire.
An advocate for the preservation of wild spaces, he is an ambassador artist for the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation.

Truly truly amazing....the way he looks through his artists lens and sees so much more! What I would give to just look through his eyes at the world for one moment.
    Thank you

I absolutely loved this presentation of beauty, truth and an abjective look at how we (humanity) often never see any of it because we only want to see from a particular view, prejudice, preconception and judgment. Artists like Simon bring to us a higher way of being both with humans and non-humans. Everything has beauty, it depends from which angle you look and your freedom to explore new angles. Thank you, GR. You helped me to find new angles within me, perhaps to find some unforeseen beauty.

If we took all our fighting into a real sense of protecting....what a beautiful world it would be. These fillms give me hope that there are more people than I am aware of that are creating a more beautiful world and making that change.

Yet another incredibly beautiful and sensitive potrayal. Your muted, delicate colour scheme echoed perfectly the range employed the artist sculptor . Both you and the artist lovingly captured the essence of a bird's power, and it's vulnerability, it's freedom and the constraints imposed on it by man's destruction of their environment.

Taking something fragile and flighting and making it permanent. Deborah Butterfield did this with horses...her metamorphosis as an artist is interesting.
