Appreciate the kind of effort he has put to transform a Matador into at campervan.

As I can see most of you know have seen vlogs of "Yodo Campers" and request you all to watch, comment & like Yodo Campers. He also deserves the praise for building such a good motorhome.

Back in 90's my dad had bought a Mahindra "Jeep" FJ 460 4x4 to make a motor home, and as luck would have it, second week of owning it, our driver crashed it into a water tanker, that made my dad rethink his options and started using it as a goods carrier instead. I still miss that vehicle, apart from our two jongas.

I have been told the 407 4x4 is probably the best platform for that size of a campervan. Its got a mountain of torque to haul the load, it uses rather easier to fix 3.0L DI engine which is also reliable and easy to fix. That said, I have little to no knowledge about all this. Have they really stopped re-registration of old army vehicles? Any idea if this will change? I sure hope it does.

Hi Dhruv. If you go for army auction trucks, go for a 2.5 ton truck. It is 4x4. Bigger wheels and very rugged. Easy spare avl. You can go for ALS ( Ashok leyland). It is smoother to drive than Tata.

Traveler and Excel may look similar but are very different. Traveler is a monocoque while Excel uses a ladder frame chassis. Their similarities are limited to engine, Gb, front design and dashboard may be. If you haven't already seen, someone in Chandigarh (I believe) has converted an army Excel 4x4 ambulance into a campervan. Given how connected you are in the Indian Campervan scene, I am sure you probably know him / about the build. If not, here are the links to the build and final product.

I have seen many tata 1613SE which are converted to 4x4 especially in assam and meghalaya regions

Bro 713 is monster, i see your videos and always think that have u ever driven bigger vehicles. Building is something and maneuvering handling in hills is not easy.
Further ride assistance or comfort , maintenance, parts availability all becomes very difficult. U should also understand the period of ownership also.
Tempo traveller is the best option that too 2nd hand if not new we can enhance wheel sizes and few more available off-road features. Kindly build something by own for videos USP. Best of luck.

Force traveller seems to be the best vehicle in India for converting into a proper caravan. Only downside is the mileage 😊 but it is not a big issue for passionate campers. If you have already converted one do share costs in the video. Also let us know if it can be registered as private vehicle in Delhi. 🙏😊Thank you !!

Its Force Urbania. This is the only vehicle currently available in India that provides Luxury with power. Best vehicle for conversion to caravan. Ground clearance, power, inside height, length everything is perfect in this vehicle. Tyres are a little small but they can be modified .

@@FirstIndianCamper yellow plate.. in india we cant register it with White plate.. you can convert it into camper van.. and they have buses also which are mostly used in hilly areas of northeast india.. very sucessfull vehicle in hilly regions.. and main thing is they only have 3455 cc engine in all the vehicles so parts availablity is simple in SML

Bro Mahindra ya Tata ka koi bhi rear double tyre wala truck le lo or yeh allmost 4x4 ka kaam kar jayega. Ek winch ho bus aage. Weight distribution mai Wight rakhna rear pe. .... force k rear double wheel ko avoid karna jis ki test drive li hai shayad app ne ya force ki rear single tyre hai yeh. Tipper model zyada capable hota hai tata ya Mahindra ka.

Once in South Africa among all the Unimog camper vans I saw one TATA 713 camper van. How that particular vehicle landed in South Africa I had no idea. So coming back to India I enquired Tata Motors for such a bare bone truck so that I can construct a camper van on that. I was curtly told that TATA 713 is strictly for Army and not sold to any private individual. Interestingly Jamshedpur is my home town and I did my schooling from there. Had lots of known persons but none could help me to get a 4x4 vehicle. Also TATA 713 was BS III type and not allowed on any India roads. I also faced same issue on 4x4 TATA 407 like you. Still wondering what should I do with my dream!

But my research says there's is one more surprise, aap ashok layland mitr bus ka specifications check karen, ya uska truck variant partner 4 tyer check karen, 4X4 ki kami ko aap 140 hp se replace kar sakte hain. It is another emerging in segment within the limit Gross weight. I'm also screening these option but mujhe minimum 8-10 people sleeping capacity pe camper banani hai with more constraints. Any suggestion plz give me.
