Im experimenting with a double grave scythe build where i put a poison ash of war on one and a frostbite ash of war on the other. Then just spam it until blood loss, poison and frostbite procs for massive DOT.
I am fond of the basic bitch scythe, the weak one, in both appearance (less bulky than the grave) and build viability (can do cold, magic, fire, lightning, or even blood/occult). Plus the actual animation of it is much better feeling than the standard.
Currently doing a maiden of death build cuz Death spells suck so im no longer Godwyn's wife. I am using the grave scythe for the looks but since im going competitive ill have to pick the other one to swing some Str points into my other stats. And instead of going for the normal arcane/magic build, or shield, ill add Faith so I can also use other spells while doing some good ranged damage and support for my allies and dmg tl foes. Good video. Rn for scythes the best talisman are the turtle piece, the lord of blood talisman, the atk chain talisman, and also the hammer talisman if you like hardcore shield breaking. As for the ashes, I noticed that anything that can pack fast hits works, namely, bladw dance and spinning weapon. Depending on your strat you may either go for Blood, poison or Cold. Blood would be for bleed spam (pve/pvp) Poison for the wear down (pvp) Cold for the additional passive shred on enemies (pvp/pve)
I actually used the Winged Scythe build from one of your early ER videos for my entire playthrough. The late-game holy resistance made things a bit tougher, but the build was so fun I wanted to stick with it. I love the versatility of a Reaper/Faith build, even if there are more powerful options available.
if you want a similar experience, try Grave Scythe with Loretta's Slash. Angel Wings is the same attack as Loretta's slash, but obviously the latter is magic damage. This makes for a relatively unique strength int build, as opposed to the usual str faith build
I agree with the rankings. However, imo Halo Scythe's AoW is so cool that it makes Halo Scythe my favourite. I also used it in my first walkthrough so it'll always have a special place in my heart.
Ugh! Finally got the Halo Scythe a couple of nights ago after giving up farming for it after a long while. The Ash of War is a lot of fun and has great reach.
It's so weird that scythes in this game scale with str isn't of pure dex or dex and faith/dex and int because to me a scythe seems more like a dex weapon than anything.
Halo Scythe at last is a massive L. That thing carried my faith build through 90% of the game with its weapon art and in PvP the tracking it has is really good. Not only is it not the worst Reaper, it's probably the best.
Quality grave scythe but im also over leveled with sword dance for pvp bloodflame blade lighning spear to knockdown dragon incantions and bestial sling for ppl light weight and spaming bloodhound step
I guess you are trying to show us a variety of options but, seriously, running a passive bleed weapon on occult with high arcane is always going to be most effective in this game.
Why does he call it a reaper? I know that Scythes are mostly known for being used by reapers, (specifically the grim reaper) but why does he call it a reaper?
Because to reap is to harvest. Scythes are harvesting tools. Reaper=Harvester The grim reaper harvests souls. That's why he uses scythes and why they are called reapers.

Halo, pve and pvp you get serious numbers blasting tht halo and with most of the dmg being phys it's still usable endgame.

Something of note. Even when both are set to Keen, the Grave Scythe will out damage the regular scythe until you get to around 60+ dex

aesthetically the grave scythe is the clear winner
but ash of war wise the winged scythe is the best
You could put Loretta's slash on the grave scythe and then it's almost the same Ash of war, haha. I agreed though, Grace Scythe looks sick.
I actually prefer the Halo Scythe aesthetically, but the Grave Scythe is really cool too

I use the grave scythe and carry the halo scythe if I need the range
When you make it keen it still out damages the regular keen scythe
I love making a faith build with only 11 dex and 11 str and then use the wing scythe
