Margaret of Austria was like the glue that always kept the siblings together. I'm sure her mother Mary of Burgundy and grandmother Margaret of York is proud of what she became.
Margaret of York was not her grandmother, at least not biologically, Margaret of York acted like the mother of Maria de Borgoña in everything except blood, but she never had children with Carlos the bold and she did not remarry, she would be her step-grandmother
@@warwickkingmaker8852 funny to think that by today's standards, such labels are a big deal unlike in their time. Wether you were a Queen regnant or Queen consort, in their time you're just labelled a "queen" nothing more, nothing less.

@#$% YEAH!!! If I were to be the resident Dynastic Matchmaker then Ferdinand should marry Princess Leonor. This has two purposes, one it is a Royal and and an heir to the Throne of an ancient Kingdom at that, with the likelihood of a Male heir in the future on an actual Throne, if Philip can keep it up. The second is that if the Carlists grant succession to Ferdinand, the line does go down Zita and Otto but Otto's marriage is what is in dispute, the whole Carlist question becomes moot and hopefully Ferdinand abides by it's tenants. Plus then we can do a reverse everything. But then again what God has in store for us is beyond me and reading up History has taught me that I cannot understand him in the slightest.
We can only wish Juan didn't die too early, because his wife will become one of España greatest queen consort that ever has. She has the quality of her mother, not like her brother.

Habsburgs are unfairly maligned sometimes. Nice to see them get positive attention for once.

Unfairly, I highly doubt it. Of course, it would be ridiculous to pass judgement on all of them equally, but most of their power stemmed from oppressing many, often by bidding them against each other, exploiting differences between cultures to incite hatred in order to subdue them one by one and going back on their promises they had made to certain groups. Most of them deserve to be looked at with disdain. However, I agree that credit should be given where it is due. Many of them were talented politicians, and they managed their empire(s) with great efficiency.
@@HoneyBadger1226 Hmmm...I would not go as far as that but certainly them Austrians were dealing dirty with the minorities. However on the whole they did respect their rights. It became useful in dealing with the nobility, their Empire was more Autocratic than the French. On the latter two, I would write their greatest gift was negotiation...until 1918. They managed to turn military failures, their armies were not always bad, into at least not a devastating political settlement, think the Seven Years War or the Thirty Years War. However managing vast ethnicities caused a lot of conflict they did not solve.

Thank you! I am currently working on more edits about the Hansburgs but with a different focus. One project is about Habsburg siblings, another about Habsburg marriages, and the last one about Margaret of Austria because I adore her. I’m also working on Elizabeth of Russia and Julius Caesar. And I plan to work on the Claudio-Julian imperial dynasty later.
I actually try to do what others don’t. For that reason I will not be editing the Tudors as there are tons of perfect videos about them, sorry. I also can’t promise The Medici as I have a ton of other things to finish until I get there. I might make something about the Bourbons in distant future. The Trastamaras are a strong possibility since I already have the episodes of Isabel downloaded. I hope you find some of what I do in the future interesting.
Make more on the Plantagenets I’m tired of the Tudors unless it’s the lesser known rulers Mary I, Edward VI.

Please can you tell me the full titles, in a English please!, of this series? It looks beautifully filmed. It seems to be a lot about family which I like. I adore Margaret of York and am just reading yet another book about her. But never before this seen her in any tv series.
Tho as I don’t know this one, there are too many ladies for me to pick out which is Margaret. An excellent stepmother to Marie, whose death was such a tragic appalling accident aged only 25, leaving young children - at least, an heir.
If this is a series, is it on Amazon Prime Video please? Is it available in English without subtitles which I find so distracting? Please do tell me it’s title, and what years it covers. I’m SO SO tired of the Tudors, filmed to death and written about to death!!

I’ve discovered I was quite wrong above in that it’s not ‘my’ Margaret of York at all but her step grand daughter! My English history is excellent, but I only know just generally of the Hapsburgs, not a lot.

Today Karl is the Patriarch with Ferdinand as Crown Prince. Honestly he has a lot of options, Belgium or Spain as the heirs are female. Get them back to their rightful Throne.

Bruh forced. Also it was not as filthy as you might surmise, though the Early Modern period is another thing.
@@johnnotrealname8168 “Not filthy….” Was only for the rich. The poor peasants/serfs in the huts in the countryside or ghastly so crowded together houses in cities, always had to live in filth.

@@johnnotrealname8168 REALLY? You think that? I’m 82 and have read about history particularly the Middle Ages since I was 9. It is ‘my thing’. Novels, films and mainly biographies to get the real facts.
Non-tarmaced roads or any road which is simply earth, becomes mud not only from the rain, but from ‘piss-pots’ emptied into the streets right up to circa nearly 1800, with faeces from animals, plus thousands of horses with no other transport - all spreading disease with people not realising ‘Wash your hands, change your clothes’ and bathe. It WAS filthy times.
