There was a time when you used to built meme decks and play the standard events. That was really fun. Don't know if it would work today, but that's an idea.
I know you're "The One in Best of One", but I would really like to see you play some Best of Three - it's my preferred way to play Standard and I find it quite educational to watch good players make side boarding decisions :)
Problem with BO3 is it is mostly filled with a vanishingly small pool of entrenched legacy players. The experience is very demanding for most players. Imo there shouldn't even be a BO1 queue as it is closer to casino slots than a competitive game.
It's ALWAYS like that in aggro mirrors. It's why I don't like aggro. When control plays land go, it's because their deck is reactive, when aggro decks play land go it's because you're sitting there in a top deck war with no profitable attacks, so no one does anything, and the the win/loss never feels satisfying because always feels like the person who won just got lucky. Some of the most boring magic you can play IMO lol.

Switching to something that mops the floor with creature decks was the best decision I ever made. Now I actually want to get matched with stuff like mono white cause they also scoop pretty fast.
just reached mythic rank 193 with my own iteration of mono white humans, i run 2 vindicators and 2 eos, also just 2 intrepid and 2 guardian instead of one, also its best too run removal that doesnt heal the enemy in a aggro deck, the net-lists felt kinda bad too me when i missed several lethals due too the heal 3 effect of the removal
CGB haven't been able to keep up with the content! Always love the games but life keeps me busy. On the upside, I have a LOT of content to watch for when I'm free. Keep it up my dooder!
Man whenever I play this deck I swear to good every opponent is playing control. I never draw my Thalia and they always, always, always have sunfall on curve. It made me so angry I had to take a break for a couple days. 😅. Glad someone’s out there is at least getting paired in fair games
New content idea is Wrenn and Realmbreaker. I have been trying to find a good golgari graveyard value but it seems the best fit if with bant super friends. Either way i think there are some hidden decks that might not be competitive but might be fun. Would love to see some more Jenn ljank experimenting.
@CovertgGoBlue Try brewing orzhow poison/toxic standard deck, jawbone duelist + necrogen comunion + skrelw is the basic combo, thats 8 poison in one turn. Now the trick is making it fairly consistent.
I only watch Standard so I'm happy with any Standard content. Standard events sound awesome. So does any interesting deck-building, honestly. Probably my least favorite Standard content is you playing a netdeck... but even that, I watch and I'm pretty happy. So I'll always be here for Standard, and I'll skip the other stuff, and that's okay -- I'd rather have you be happy and playing 3-4 different formats than miserable and making Standard videos every day.
@@Basoosh I believe the main goal in WOTC's mind was to improve consumer confidence in buying standard meta cards for paper Magic for newer, more casual players that would otherwise be turned off from investing in cards that would be rotating soon. It does absolutely nothing for and arguably hurts Arena, but I guess that was a trade-off they were willing to make. Still probably a mistake in the short term on their part.
He probably could of attacked in relatively safe, however if the opponent had any combat trick you run the risk of losing one brutal cathar and allowing them to get their brutal cathar back.
I agree with you that the longer refresh time really hurts because some cards are too best-in-slot. Even after Kiki Jiki got banned. I prefer playing midrange, creating too many problems to mono-board-wipe but also solving the hand-vomit decks. Like your wife, no cap. If I have to play against another Teferi, Hero of Dominaria for three years I'll play something else instead.
CGB: don't you think that agro is way too busted (W, Thalia, Adeline or Mono-red, or enchantments), compared to control being too weak and having weak answers?
With Standard being so stale right now, why not a Best or Favorite deck by color and color combination for a couple of weeks? Looks like you just covered the best Mono W deck! But maybe it'll scratch the Standard itch and generate a few weeks of content
I don't get why opponents do not have a board wipe D:, in most situations a vanquish the horde or a depopulate would have heavy countered all the creatures that are on board

I get that the last ban sweep of invoke and stuff was necessary, but the meta feels like the exact same as it was before the previous rakdos meta. It's honestly kind of boring, mono Red and mono white again. Yawn.
I would be happy to loose standard content and replace it with an explorer series, maybe with a focus on making the transition to the format from standard. I am sure plenty of people are looking to play in other formats after getting bored with standard.
CGB always talking trash about aggro, but in the end all archetypes need some thinking to pilot well, especially when there is a board stale. Also, chosing the right T1 and T2 play when most your decks are 1 and 2 drops requires some real thinking as well ! It's coming from a retiered control player, so I know bot sides of the coin (-;
They need to increase the life total to 25. It's absolutely ridiculous. In the 90s when they released the game, you had absolutely garbage creatures, yet you got proper 4 mana board wipes to deal with them. Now you have absolutely ridiculous creatures, which can basically win on turn 3, yet you get no proper 4 mana board wipes.
Idea to make standard content more fun: once a week, instead of playing on standard ladder, play standard against another content creator. Go a few rounds with another big name like LegendVD or an up and comer trying to grow their channel like Symphonners Gaming.

i like standard and generally just play it but i know right now without either rotation or new cards it is pretty dry so play want makes you happy

wouldn't he have to do like 1k matches to affect the % at all so we r missing a few games unless it goes farther out than the hundredth spot.
