Great information for a 10-day cycling vacation! TIRE QUESTION: Do you recommend Gator or Gator Hard Shell type? I keep hearing Tuscon ride "goat head" puncture stories. Thanks!
It depends on the time of the year. The "goat heads" become an issue in the fall when the tumble weeds are dried up and the wind blows them into The LOOP or on the road. In the spring not an issue. I never run Gator Skins.
Thanks for this. Great info. Lap Swimming info appreciated, too. Newly Retired 62 yr old (non competitive) cyclist from the NE looking for a cycling friendly location to spend the winter months. Gravel/dirt roads are my main cycling interest. Is it possible to ride from tuscon to Patagonia without riding that long main road with no shoulder (Ted Kings RUclips video). Anyway, thanks again for posting, I’ll prob reach out to you at some point for real estate help.
No to get to Patagonia from Tucson there is some road you would have to ride on. The AZ trail will keep you off the road for much of the ride but there is some road you would have to ride on. Thanks for watching.
Great video man! Im a big cyclist and this was very helpful!
Thanks for the feedback and for watching!
Today I decided to research a city to live my dreams in, and I think you may have confirmed my suspicion that Tuscon is it.

Tyler, Is it feasible to bicycle between Tucson and Grass Valley via “side roads”? Gracias.
Green Valley? Yes it is doable.
