- On July 24th, 2023, a University of Illinois officer observed an unoccupied vehicle parked in a no-parking zone in Champaign, Illinois.
As the officer gave the vehicle owner the parking citation, she would not roll her window down more than a couple of inches, causing the officer to open the driver's side door mistakenly, causing the scene to escalate.
The vehicle owner, Nikita, was charged with felony aggravated battery to an officer, misdemeanor resisting/obstructing an officer, and a citation for improper parking on the roadway. The case is open.

I've never seen a situation where the deployment of a taser would have been more appropriate.
I've seen a few, but when they say they are going to, instant/immediate follow-up needs to be done to get the point across otherwise hey'll know that nothing will happen. Of course she has "a child they need to get back to" (Who's with the child? If it's so young you have to get back to it, was it left home alone?). At least there was no, "I can't breathe!"
