Squatters and rights dont belong in the same sentence.

what if some one owns a house in SC and goes out of the country for just 6 months,& has No Trespassing signs up, along with cameras that they can see from there smart phone and maybe notifies the cops before going that they'll be away for 6 months is that a good idea?

From my understanding of the law, if you catch them prior to the 10 year mark, they can’t claim squatters rights.

If the place as been empty for a x about of time the squatter should get two week notice

Why... they should never have been there to begin with. What drugs are you on?

Sorry to ask, but im considering renting out my mothers condo as a air bnb.
I wont actually own the condo for 8 months. Could i run into any complications if someone tries to squat on me?
Edit: my mother has passed away.

What kind of complications are you thinking? Squatting, while legal, is not easy.

@TheBillOlson I do not live in the same state. I would monitor it with outside cameras. How would I kick out people who refuse to leave?
But would the police say to me " you don't own the condo, you have to rights to kick them out"

@@digdude9721 that I’m not sure. Would probably have to contact the local jurisdiction and ask.
Sorry to hear about your loss

So, just being a property owner/landlord makes them a pig ? And you think you deserve to use it without paying for it ? Sounds like a criminal mind at work. Someone else has it, I'm gonna take it from them without permission or paying for it. That is theft by taking. The property owner did not just magically receive the property. They had to work for it. Why don't you do the same.
