Warning: ASMR is in this. So surprised no many ppl like ASMR. Fun fact about me: I am one of the few people who get tingles at the back of my head from listening to certain sounds. It started in 1st grade when a tutors voice was the perfect pitch. I didn't learn till about 2013 what ASMR meant. So in a previous video I was requested to do some more soothing voices. What came to mind was ASMR. So I did by the end of the video, a little part of whispering ASMR. For those who were kind enough to let me know it's not your thing, thank you. To those who were absolutely rude, I find it funny that in this exact video I talk about toxic commenting and yet I still have many people not realize they're being rude in the tone they use. Please don't be rude. You'll be muted if rudeness continues. Thanks everyone. 🐾

I like CERTAIN ASMR noises but I can't stand the sounds that people's mouths make- like the moist mouth noises. These are more evident in recordings- like one of my professors has lecture videos I have to mute and just read the transcript because he makes these weird squelchy noises when he talks and it's like nails on a chalkboard to me.

I love these relaxed videos! I am usually not the biggest fan of asmr but the calm voice is so nice for set up videos like this. If people aren't a fan of the whispering then please keep the calm voice for some of these set up videos :)

As an ASMR fan for the past 9 years, I loved this! You did a great job & I honestly have no idea why some people are being negative. I don’t often get tingles anymore (tingle immunity can be a b*tch lol), but this video actually gave me quite a few scalp tingles. Combining my two favorite things: cage setups + asmr? The perfect thing to watch right before bed! If you do decide to do anymore asmr or soft spoken hamster videos in the future, I’ll definitely be first in line to watch them ^_^
Also! Carlos is adorable; I have 2 rescued Syrians (both originated from rodent mills) and 1 ethically bred Syrian from Nantucket Hamstery, and I agree with you, the coat quality difference in particular is crazy! Both of my rescues lived jn likely abusive and definitely neglectful situations for around a year each before coming to me, so I can’t really comment on the personality differences, unfortunately. Anyway, I’ll quit rambling, but thank you for this video! I really enjoyed it ^_^

this enclosure is fantastic! the only tweak i would put is the wheel because research has shown hamsters need wheels of 11 inches diameter to avoid hurting their backs

Question: I noticed you didn't provide a sand bath is that something you provide every now and then. I know some do this.
Sand for syrians is an added enrichment and is not necessarily needed. It is seen as a litter dish to them and unfortunately I have been having a lot of problems with controlling ammonia when using sand for syrians. So that is why he is not getting one but at the rescue we use sand for dwarves and gerbils when gerbils don't make it messy.
@@MunchiesPlace How is a Syrians fur any different from a dwarfs fur though? Doesn't a sand bath help remove excess oils from _any_ hamsters fur? Where did you get this information from?
@@jjrhwy3376 Syrians will go to the bathroom inside their sand. When the sand is first placed inside the enclosure, they may use it to dig but will turn it into a litter box very quickly. Because of this, we do not use sand for Syrians often at the rescue due to the high amounts of ammonia coming from the sand. It does not control odor at all. Dwarf hamsters do have different coats. The Roborovski for example becomes oily when no sand is inside of their enclosure since roborovki's come from deserts of Central Asia and will of rolling around in it with their feet in their air. Same with some Russian dwarf hybrids that originate from Russia. Syrians without sand still maintain their coats and wash them regularly, so this is why we do not personally use sand. We would suggest adding sand to those who cannot clean themselves anymore, to see if they would use it like seniors of medical need hamsters. But to Syrians we see this as an added benefit rather than a need, if other enrichment items are present. Syrians are from dry climates, so sometimes we can use dirt for a dig box without them peeing in it. But for sand, we use it less and don't require it for adoptions. Niteangel has come out with litter recently that claims to absorb the ammonia smell, so we are testing this litter out to see if we could use it for our Syrians.
ALL hamsters need sand baths. Not dust baths, sand baths. It keeps them clean, because they can’t be bathed in water. They lick/ groom themselves like cats, but have excess oils, and by rolling around in sand, it gets rid of those oils, and makes your hamsters coat clean, and fresh. Please add a sand bath into your hamster’s enclosure, wether you like it or not. This is a necessity, and is very cheap, too. You can pick up the sand at Home Depot, Lowe’s, or any pet store that sells reptile sand. I recommend the children’s play sand from the two household stores, and fine grain natural reptile sand from the pet stores. I hope this helps you if you are confused as to the idea of hamsters sand baths. Ps, the sand bath should be large enough to place multiple hides, chews, toys, etc.

Oh my GOSH Carlos is H. U. G. E!! A lot of my friends comment on how large my Syrian, Cinnamon is, which I'm pretty proud of since he was bred as a show Hamster, so his genetics are good and it shows, but wow Carlos must have some pretty good genetics for him to be so large! For comparison, the first ever Syrian Hamster I owned (Over 10 years ago now) was around half the size. I hope people keep breeding Hamsters for their good genetics so the future can be full of big, chunky, healthy hammies like Carlos and Cinnamon!

I love these set up videos
first of all I would love to say thank you for providing a big enough enclosure for your hamster. I would add a lot more bedding I know you have the minimum which is 6 to 10 inches but adding more bedding is always better. Your water bottle and whee are not touching the top of the tank so you could definitely add more. I would also add a sand bath. Sand baths are mandatory for hamsters so that they can get the oil off of there for fur and so they can stay clean because hamsters cannot get wet. I would also try to add driftwood or sticks something like that to add into the empty spaces. Hamsters like a very full enclosure so that they can feel safe. I would also try to add other substrates like mass, cork granules, coconut soil. no hate just some options to make it better.

I actually didn’t realize how much the whispers would bother me. So I just turned the sound down until it wasn’t an issue. I wish people would consider their comments before leaving them. Hiya! Your hammy may be a ghost hamster. These hamsters come out very late at night and do not like physical contact with humans and other animals. This is not 100 percent and is nothing to worry about just thought i'd let you know. Have a nice day / night!! 😁

ive never been early but I LOVE this cage
I prefer normal talking, but I still love this video! It might be easier to understand what is being said either by computer speakers or headphones, though, so I’m going to have to rewatch this video. No complaints though. Carlos is adorable! I hope we can see more of him in the future, though I know the rescue is more of a priority. :)
That is a beautiful enclosure and a great set up for Carlos. How often does the bedding need to be cleaned? I’m just learning all the basics.
Spot cleaned weekly, deep cleaned monthly but since this is a lot bigger than 600 sq inches, we can get away with going a month and a week or more, depending on how much bedding you put inside. If it's only 5-6 inches, monthly. 10+ inches i'd say it could almost last 2 months. This is also the largest size, the smaller cages would need to be cleaned monthly or so.

I'm in love with Carlos! He is such a gorgeous hamster. 😍 Wish we had ethical hamster breeders where I live. My robo has a pretty good temper though, even if she originally was bought from a pet shop (I didn't buy her, I adopted her from a person who got her from the pet store and wanted to rehome her). It did take time for her to trust me, but Sushi is doing great. I've had her for over a year now. She's pretty tame for a roborovski and will climb on my hand when I place it in her enclosure. ❤

First time here. Loved the setting but had to mute once the wispering started, I missed why you were wispering.
I do not understand manufacturers and why they can’t design an appropriate hamster enclosure rather than a bird cage and call it a hamster cage. I like the niteangel you showed before but they aren’t available, I could even do the bin however I can’t find one big enough, everyone is sold out! Wish I lived closer I would be a foster for hamsters I love them so much and appreciate every video of yours I’ve seen! Until I have the proper enclosure set up I won’t be adding to my little fur family.
