For adaptive sports ambassador and 2020 US Track & Field Paralympian Ezra Frech, Hanger Clinic is like family. To find a Hanger Clinic orthotist or prosthetist in your area who specializes in adaptive sports, visit www.hangerclinic.com/clinics
Born with congenital limb differences, Ezra was just four years old when he received his first prosthetic knee and running leg from Hanger Clinic. With his prosthetic leg, everyday struggles became less. He became very active and started keeping up with his friends, and his passion and love for sports quickly grew. At age 11, he watched the Paralympics and knew he wanted to compete. And at age 16, he did just that. Ezra competed in the long jump and high jump at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games with one of his biggest supporters, Hanger Clinic prosthetist Thomas Page, CPO, cheering him on from back home in Los Angeles.
Ezra’s passion for adaptive sports extends beyond his Paralympic dreams. In 2015, Ezra and his father, Clayton, launched Angel City Sports with the inaugural Angel City Games to fill in some of the gaps in adaptive and Paralympic sports. As a disability rights activist and ambassador for adaptive sports, Ezra hopes his story will inspire other kids to see the opportunities that lie ahead of them.
