I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. In dance, my forte are contemporary and musicals and have done most of my performances in theatre. Although my channel is mostly known for dance analysis, I am currently inactive in the dance community.

BI is actually a main dancer as well as a choreographer in iKON. been watching him since his survival shows trainee days and he's so good, his skill doesn't even show enough in these videos but a great dancer like you Jeff can definitely tell it even if he doesn't do so much.
In my opinion, his skills comes through here 100x more than they ever did in ikon content. He is just SO good.✋️🙏
ngl, bi leaving ikon is a bless in disguise. he uncovered so much of his potential. like we always know when it comes to ikon, it's always dk who's portraying the main dancer (which is fine) but we barely seen bi's ability. now as being a solo, he is able to experiment things without having to consider other members (though he still consider the dancers for spotlight which is very kind and respectful for an artist). and the persona he gave us now is.... chef kiss.
Honesty hanbin is main dancer too since traine era... Not only producer and lead rapper but his position from debut era is main dancer. Even vershow called him main dancer, producer and rapper.. He being soloist is a bless ❤️ more shinny...
Actually it was B.I who's ikon's main dancer since they're trainee days. You can see how he was the one leading their dance performances and he's not doing that as a leader but because he is their best one and he actually choreographed their dance performances during their trainee days and survival shows. Even when Team A (Winner) and Team B (ikon) had to dance together for GD's music show performance, it was B.I who supervised and taught them the choreography since he was the best one among them even tho he was literally one of the youngest ones there. dk only got hyped as one of the main dancers in 2017 but it's always been him. B.I got so many things on his plate. He's always busy. He's not just the group's leader, he's also their songwriter, composer and album producer. You can also see in their old contents how he's the one who's busy arranging setlists during concerts, he's the one supervising their performances and that includes the dance choreographies. But I guess some people forget that he's the main dancer because people always hype him more on the music side since he is an award-winning songwriter and producer

For anybody that doesn't know, the word for firework in Korean is the characters for fire and flower combined so a more literal translation of 'fireworks burst' in the chorus could be 'fire flowers blossom' which is so pretty! I think that sweeping arm move is supposed to be representative of that sweeping path through the night sky personally.
Thanks for this firework explanation. It makes sense because in some of the outside dance parts, it looks like they added an effect of some string of light/firework moving across in the night sky.
And then there's that line, "roses blossom wide on the lips". Excuse me, sir? I see what you did there. How are the lyrics so provocative but poetic at the same time? Lol
Yes, B.I is definitely different. I've been following him since predebut and when I thought I have seen the best but everytime he releases new music it's always surprises me. He always surpasses every expectations everytime. Amazing, I will love him forever.

The male choreographers are actually B.I.'s Dance instructors who also helped him choreograph this piece and he calls them respectfully Teacher/Master. At first B.I. requested only the chorus but his Masters liked the song so much that they volunteered to work on the whole song with him. That's why they get the importance and spotlight in his MV and Dance practice videos. 😊

I always appreciate and love whenever you react to B.I's songs. And yes, nobody indeed is doing it like him. He is a singer, a rapper and a very amazing dancer. He stands out even with great dancers because he's got really good dance skills too. Love your analysis and breakdown on the choreography. Thank you Jeff 🖤
B.I is a unique artist. Every time I listen to him or watch him dance I strangely feel free... free of all doubts, of all burdens, of all negative emotions. I think that during all the time he went MIA he went to meet himself, to get to know himself better and to reflect on what he wanted to do in the future as an artist. I remember listening to this Soundcloud snippet of what later became one of his songs on his waterfall album, and thinking "he's going to come back stronger than ever and we're not ready for it". Indeed, we were not ready, or at least I wasn't. This man holds such a unique place in my heart, he's so humble yet so strong, he inspires me so much in never giving up and always give my best in everything I do. B.I, just know that I love you.

Thank you for the point out details about the contemporary, salsa, figure skating etc of his dance.. Yes me too I always look forward to B.I new stuff cuz he never disappoint & like to challenge himself to something new & better.. He said BTBT exceed their expectations so the pressure is high for his next release but Keep Me Up is really up there too 😊🔥
Honestly, I fell in love first with B.I coz of dancing style since WIN and M&M. He put emotions in his dancing whether it is hiphop or sexy vibes. Even to this day, whenever I miss B.I and his dancing, I love watching his old dancing compilations, especially those in his survival shows.
tho he's always been an excellent dancer, his dance skill has improved immensely now. i guess as a solo artist he has more freedom to explore new styles and basically do whatever he wants lol.

We love it that more people especially dancers/choreographers are now seeing how great of a dancer Kim Hanbin is, in addition to his many talents
i think b.i went from a more formulaic kpop industry training to underground dancing, and now he's using both trainings in combination. i really liked that the choreographies mixed dancing genres, and the fact that the music is flexible enough for that sort of thing.
All of his solo performances were choreo'd and collaborated with 82, (Jinwoo and Tarzan from Mbi are part of it). They were the first ones to collab with BI after his hiatus, well-deserved success from the team as they always get credits at the end of his MVs and Performance Videos, they also feature more frequently too ; ^;. They're also getting more collaborations on his channels as well.
There's just something in the way B.I dances and it looks so satisfying. You're definitely good at what you're explaining, thank you for this wonderful reaction to B.I., B.I can literally dance to whatever dance there is.
B.I is such a unique and genius artist fr. His songs and choreos, they're nothing like kpop groups these days and literally so good at lyrics writing, his dances, and his songs are just dope. Love his songs, dances, just everything he does in his performances and songs. The only two different ways of describing him would be 'one and only' and 'genius that might appear once a millennium'

When you said the #WOD is on brand with him, i was just about to comment that i dont see him continuing this style because of the new fans BTBT brought, but because this is propably his style. While in ikon, he didnt have the opportunity to pick a style and make a brand out of it, but now he has, so it only makes sense he does the type of style that speaks to him and comes as somewhat natural. Over all, he is doing Very Good job with his solo career.✋️🙏

It's funny that Jeff said that arms opening move looks like how they land in an Axel in figure skating because only The Man himself Yuzuru Hanyu does it like that, it's a very difficult pose to hold in landing and most other skaters will quickly pull up and onto the other leg but Yuzu will hold it as long as he can so all the still shots of the landings are mostly him. Also all jumps land the same but the Axel is most famous I guess

Please react to BTBT. It reflects the passion and how devoted he is for everything he does.
I think for the dance move where it sounds like he say « keep me up », and brings his arms out, in the MV he says « fireworks burst » three times when he does those dance moves and the he says « keep me up » . So perhaps those moves is the fireworks exploding or saying to look at the sky. I’d have to look at the MV again to make sure.
The dance moves give me a lot of KARD vibes which I think is based on Jamaican dancehall.
I keep getting the feeling from his music, that he doesn't fit into kpop. Maybe because he is exceptional enough to differentiate himself in this field. I really love the things he made with iKON, but his personal style is obviously different and I'm extremely happy that he's thriving as a solo artist.
