Hey Johnny, I started watching your show back in the beginning of 2019 and just wanted to tell you how much you’ve inspired me. I had just quit smoking for two days and was wanting to smoke again... Lo and behold, while browsing RUclips I see your “quitting smoking video.” I watched it and you really help me get through the urge. I ended up binging your videos for the rest of the day; and for the weeks and months to come I have tried to catch up on all the brilliant content you’ve created over your RUclips career. Through watching you have your many friends, wife, and even mother on your show I’ve seen how much joy it brings you. I just wanted to say how much your show has helped me this year. It got me out of a major funk and has inspired me to actually start a RUclips channel which I’ve been working towards since I first binged your videos that day. I only hope that I can bring the kind of joy and inspiration to someone that you’ve given me. This was a great Christmas special (I’ve caught up on the past ones lol) and I’m glad to see you and Rob as such good friends. You’re doing a great job, Johnny. Keep it up! I love this channel it's one of the best on youtube. Only been following for a few years but i feel the same as you with how genuine and loving that Johnny and all his friends & family are, always a joy to watch even when he makes videos on games that I don't care about I still love them. My favorite episode is his one on the art teacher Mr. Shimizu, if you haven't seen it its really good and I was very touched by it❤
Glad to hear you quit smoking. Hang in there. I lost my mom to smoking in 2014. Quitting will only make you better.

I have been watching this series ever since I was arround 14 years old. At that time I wasn't even able to understand english that well. Im 21 years old now, and here I am, still doing this yearly tradition lol
So glad to see Rob is happy with his new cuddle pillow, ha ha. Merry Christmas, fellas. This week I get to play Santa for all the kids which I'm looking forward too. It'll be my first time on the other end of all that excitement.

His emotion is overwhelming and contagious and I can't help but smile with glee when watching these vids.
John is a great gift-giver, always considerate and thoughtful.
He always gives a sly look at the camera when he knows he's done well, too.
Sometimes it's hard to enjoy the things you love, as life tends to hold you down and disapointment tends to dissuade hopeful emotions of wonder.
It's always so great to watch you guys, because the cheer and love towards anime and video games and each other is never lacking.

My amazing Christmas memory is from 2011, few months before December I had finally moved out of my mothers house, at the age of 24. That should've happened sooner but meh, it is what it is.
So, Christmas came around, and for the first time ever I woke up at Christmas day not at my mothers house. It was one of those "this is what an adult life is" moment. So with nothing to do and nothing planned I watched your channel and, not sure exactly what video triggered it, but I decided to play phantasy star. So I downloaded some sega masters emulator and a phantasy star ROM. I spent some hours playing, ate good food and drank quality beer. It was essentially the best way to start Christmas of adulthood I could think of.
I never actually finished phantasy star, I just played it over the holidays, I probably didn't even get close to properly begin playing. Every Christmas since then I think about that game and that I should pick it up again, maybe I will this Christmas. So thank you Johnny for playing this role in my Christmas, both these specials and making me play phantasy star all these years way back.
Been watching since the 2009 when I was 11, I'm 21 now and after 10 years of Christmas specials it still brings so much joy into my heart. I love you both Johnny and Rob, Merry Christmas

Johnny I am a long time watcher (on year #8) and rarely comment but I wanted to say your Christmas episodes with Rob are something I look forward to every year!
This year I got a new job but in the fine writing, you weren't allowed to take the holidays off. Since I couldn't leave, I decided to work the shift to make extra cash. So, I am now working 12-hour shifts on Xmas. I just finished watching all of these and always a treat. It's fun seeing you two grow and Robman from rags to riches! Happy Holidays you two.

I've had a pretty bad year and have been through a lot of stuff. i was looking forward to this christmas but i think it's gonna be the worst so far. i'm really glad that when stuff is looking down around the holidays i always have the Christmas special to look forward to, it's become tradition for me to watch these and it's almost been 10 years that i've been doing so. Thank you guys both for making it feel like Christmas at least a little bit. you guys have no idea how much these episodes mean to me. I too have been watching since I was 13 and I'm 24 now, still just as giddy to watch each Christmas special, I've became less into the holidays with family members passing, moving away from my home state,ect. But these videos are a yearly tradition and give me that holiday feeling that seems to be fleeting.

Starting my 2021 marathon. Had this one on and my 3 year old was playing at the table. Saw the rock man pillow and got excited. So now she’s watching the marathon with me to see all the toys 😆🤘🏻❤️
This was so heartwarming. I fully understand how Rob feels. I've never been able to spend much on my family for Christmas, but this year is going to be the first year I get to splurge on my loved ones, and I couldn't be more excited.

Well one of the best memories I had was when I was 13. My grandma managed to find me a replacement Dreamcast after mine broke. She even got Tony Hawk with it...she was amazing. This was in 2009 haha.

Well, last year’s Christmas was absolutely amazing, I had been buying parts for my new PC over the year last year, and my parents got me the last parts for the PC and monitors and I was able to build my first ever PC for Christmas. It was awesome.

1:40 It's crazy to think about it, but they're not the only to grow up with you guys. I think I was 12 or 13 when I started watching and I'm 23 now. This is probably the channel I've stuck with longer than any other on youtube. And I've gotta say, the Christmas episodes are my absolute favorite and they always shock me by how recent they feel from the last, especially as the years go on, time just flies. Guess I'm not the only person that re-watches all the old Christmas episodes. It's become a Christmas tradition. I haven't even watched a single Christmas movie yet but I've watched all of the HCG Christmas episodes.

I have been watching these since day 1. I'm 24 now so I was roughly around 12/13 when I first seen these amazing videos! Glad to be alive in a time where i can grow up watching these.
One thing that's changed, I didnt see 4 commercials in the first video 12 years ago.

I already watched this twice and it will be on in the background at least half a dozen times before Xmas. This is my Christmas Story.
This is my first Christmas special that I've seen the year it was released. Merry Christmas Johnny, Rob and Kim.
Christmas of 1986.... opened all of what I thought were my gifts. Parents say there may be a gift missing under the tree. They tell me to check under their bed. I pull out this large wrapped gift. I opened it and it was a NES. I was not into gaming at the age of 9 but was shocked to get one. By that evening I was hooked on video games. I played Super Mario Bros. all Christmas day. I can still remember it to this day!
Watching your Christmas videos since a decade now and they didn't lose any of their Christmas magic feeling so please keep making those videos for many decades ahead!

Man I been part of this sense I was 22 years old and im 34 today bloody hell time flies by. This is a pure Christmas tradition that always brings me such happiness seeing 2 awesome friends almost trying to outdo each other with gifts.
