      This will not fix your foot alignment. The issue is not dissimilar from poor back posture, in that it stems from not having a sufficient muscle base to support the arches of the foot, or simply not activating them when standing or walking. Good news is that it’s pretty simple to fix, just takes work and consistency, just like correcting back posture. The main problem is the anterior tibial muscle, which plays a major role in supporting the long arch of the foot. 👌

    • @jaeyd4
      @jaeyd4 Год назад +8

      @@buckbuckleyson2259 thank you for taking the time to reply. I think there may be a slight misunderstanding though, posture is simply position in a physiological context. There is good posture and poor posture, referring to how close the position is to a physiological ideal for function of the structures at play. The components involved are bones as a foundation, ligaments as connections between bones and muscles/tendons which are responsible for tensioning the aforementioned correctly according to the task at hand to keep good posture. I’m quite aware of the physiology, anatomy and pathology of feet. I make orthopaedic insoles and also had flat feet and poor back posture myself. I no longer have flat feet, or poor back posture because I have trained the muscle groups that stabilise each and can activate the arches on my feet at will.

    I have very wide feet and the only shoes that I have been able to wear without going 3 sizes over have been caterpillar boots(bruisers specifically). I'm on my second pair now, bought this year after my previous pair that lasted just over 10 years. It's not perfect, I still have to go 1 size over, but it's a lot better than having a 5cm gap between my toes and the front of the shoe. The only shoes I can wear all day working, walking, hiking, thar haven't given me ingrown toenails

      You can slowly work down to minimal & zero drop shoes & it'll help. Don't try switching over straight to barefoot or super flat shoes like this or you'll mess yourself up. Work your way down to shorter heels if you need to 1st.

    Yea, I’m still not wearing crocs. There are plenty of sneakers that have wide toe boxes and better support. It’s hardest for me to find good dress shoes with wide toe boxes. I just order EEE wide dress shoes a size too large and add her cushions to make up for the extra length.

      There are some "Barefoot" dress shoes on the market nowadays... They dont look as dressy cuz the slight heel and pointiness are what people look for in dressy, but better for your feet.
      Video wasn't telling you to wear cros btw.

      Tight hamstrings are more likely why you trip over your own feet, not crocs... but ironically, toe splay assists gait which affects hamstrings.

    As much as I hate government regulation, I do wish shoe manufacturers had to stop making small shoe boxes, especially in kids shoes. If they couldn’t deform kids feet with small toe boxes for 10-15 years, the problem would solve itself because no young people would dare torture themselves as adults & begin deforming their feet then. The problem is our feet are already deformed by small toe boxes before we are old enough to remember what it was like to have healthy, wide feet.
