The honesty in this interview, should be benchmark for interviews. Straight answers, no sugar coating, direct opinions - For 9 minutes straight. Love it!
People love him or hate him. He has the best fleet, the most sought after destinations, the very best business class, a best in class premium lounge facility at Doha, and a service that is second to none. He speaks honestly and tells it like it is. I've heard that when the sales teams at Airbus and Boeing have planned meetings with him, they practise for weeks 😅
A remarkable person who pushed Qatar Airways into sky and knows what exactly he have to do in the next few years. When he said he loves compititon then he means it so let's see.. He was my boss when I was working in Qatar Airways at Hamad International Airport. Love him very genius person
Qatar Airways = great airlines with great service. Their flight attendants are super and food is pretty good on the long hauls. Good interview. Do more of these.
He is an excellent businessmen but I would hate to work under his supervision, straight forward and strict personality, determined, courageous, business oriented mind😂
I appreciate Mr. Al Baker calling out the SAF problem and the added cost; the fuel is coming but not anytime soon especially without any real SAF infrastructure. I mean this fuel seems to be decades away from being practically used throughout the world anyway.
I had to use Qatar for a long haul couple of times in a short interval. Qatar actual suited my needs while selecting the airline. This is the secret strategy.
Very modest Mohamed I think that your very wise and I respect you too much Thank you I hope the best for you be blessed. Thank and I love Qatar airways.
Thanks, Mr. Al Baker! I've been a loyal customer of Qatar Airways and Emirates since 2012. I've always been impressed with your products and services. However, I think it's time for Riyadh Air to take the lead. I've been following Riyadh Air's progress closely, and I'm impressed with what they've been able to achieve in a short amount of time. They have a strong team of experienced executives . i believe that Riyadh Air has the potential to be one of the leading airlines in the world Soon , it drive it ambition from 2030 vision .

The demand for first class has dwindled in the world over the last three decades, that's why most airlines are now have Business and economy classes in their airplanes. Some airlines has chosen to put very few First class seats in their aircrafts.
Well done AAB --- A good interview, and he didn't sidestep one of the questions from that slightly 'amateur' interviewer. I agree with other comments here. QR are THE best certainly in the Middle East, Hamid Int'l Airport is sublime, and also as stated here below by others, QR cabin crew are the very best. Qatar Airways is a truly 5* airline in the air, AND on the ground. However, I have two gripes with them, the first is they 'sold out' their route Doha-Helsinki allowing Finnair to take over the route completely. Sorry, but Finnair, are not even on the same planet as QR, let alone being in the same field - awful, awful service. As I use this route at least 4 times per year, I now fly via other cities such as LHR, Oslo or Munich and connect to/from Helsinki with a change of flight, as this is much preferable to 7 hours with Finnair. The second is that due to the pandemic, their service to Dubai DWC ceased, and I would love for them to return to this route.
This should be a great reflection of the airshow...the only problem with aerospace supply chain is the politics...supply chain need to be managed like automotive...with pressure, pull systems...
Please cool down a little bit. It must have been around 20 years ago, there was a jingke read "be there", Shortly after the terrorist attack... By the United Airlines? Cathy Pacific? The air is and the airports are overcrowded!
Not the same as before. Never fly with them again. Recently, They only allow one hand carry item. usually, even with budget airlines, one hand carry item with one hand luggage are allowed on board.
I dont like the attitude of journalist in which he implied that this plane conversation is one way street where he asks and person opposite only answers. That is police questioning, not a proper journalism! Let th guy talk and ask questions vice versa. Al Baker chapeaux bas!!
4:39 BA and Virgin Atlantic has already surpassed them. To offer no Premium Economy and now no First yet they charge those prices is just shocking. They need a reality check. World best airline my ass.
Supply chain issue for not delivering the orders!! The order did not have an closure clause!! I presumed by the time the chickens are ordered the meat will no longer be edible.
What a joke. Qatar airways laid off 25% of its workforce, including 1200 pilots. In addition, took from 30 to 70% of wages as an act of solidarity and to protect jobs. I may add, that this was for expats only, locals were exempt. So to talk about governments compensating companies to keep staff on board…. Look at your own garden first, before you tend the gardens of others.
This man plays it “smart “ and logic unlike others... When bad comes to worst... you will find him “correcting his mistakes if any...while others, you will find them at their houses in their own countries with their millions having beers! .
Qatar airways is Number one in service compare to all others …. One of the best of the other airline in the world the airline staff even didn’t responds when I asked for a glass of water after they gave snacks …🤷♂️🤷♂️
Very eloquent and intelligent answers - will continue flying with @qatarairways because they are in another league for service, reliability and quality
With 22 years in the Middle East, my belief is their is just too much of everything, and it is dangerous, people and companies suffer at the end of the day, fail & fold.....
His Exellency...? ... Excuse me.... He is not head of state...what happend to news reporters nowadays? The CEO is straight and bold that where is my plane? Exactly, I love this guy he's always honest
This is a real businessman. Plenty to learn from Mr Al Baker.
do you finger your ass when thinking about al baker?
Especially on trying to play big boss with Airbus and finally backing down and going back in his box.
One of the smartest CEO alive!

Love him or hate him, but you'll always learn a thing or two when you listen to this gentleman.
Hardly the best fleet, many still have mixed cabins, and with their constant aircraft changes, it can easily lead to dissatisfaction.
Emirates is better. It is surprising that they did not win anything
What utter nonsense.
@@ayaananw you are mistaken. Skytrax doesn’t mean shit. If you worked at Qatar airways you would know

Everything great compared to others
This man is a FINE example of a leader.

He is the best airline CEO, running the best airline ever. Anyone who has flown Qatar will agree on that!

Qatar is a great airline. Flew in Qsuites for a business trip from Philadelphia to Riyadh. Great service
Mr. Al baker is always straightforward
I've been on Qatar business A380 - what can I say there's nothing to compare with it.
he like the Jose Mourinho of the airlines industry..ego plenty , backed by facts
love flying their newer business class with none of the 2-2-2 configuration/777. looking forward to flying the qsuites in january 2024.
